Chapter 541
Chapter 541 No Way
Lauren blinked, her expression one of bewildered distress, but she couldn't tolerate Frank's scolding.
She scoffed, "What right do you have to judge me? Who gave you the authority to scheme against me? You should have told me your plans earlier, not hurt me behind my back like this."
Frank didn't want to waste more words. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he asked, "Were you hospitalized last night?"
"Yes, he found out."
Frank's expression darkened, becoming increasingly grim. He wondered the purpose of Benjamin orchestrating this drama.
It dawned on him ultimately.
Benjamin was forcing Larry to reveal himself.
Frank's face grew uglier by the second, and then he pointed at Lauren. "You will pay for your decisions today. Do you think Benjamin, having caught me, will let you go? You are mistaken. If he knows you planned to drug him, he must have figured out our connection. Do you think he'll keep you by his side? Lauren, this is a classic case of losing what you try to steal. We're both in the same boat; if I'm going down, you can't escape either. We're cut from the same cloth, aren't we?"
He smirked coldly, his face a picture of brooding ugliness.
After this tirade, Frank immediately turned and left the hospital room. He needed to get out before Benjamin arrived, or the police were alerted.
Lauren ruined all his careful plans... If it weren't for his concern for her, he would have made sure she disappeared from this world.
Enraged, Frank hurried to the parking lot, where he gradually relaxed, grateful that Benjamin had been slow to act.
A slight smile played on his lips as he walked briskly toward his car.
But just as he was about to reach his car, suddenly, a car's headlights turned on, blinding him with their brightness.
Frank raised his hand to shield his eyes, trying to see who it was, but the light was too intense.
Then, a deep and magnetic voice slowly resounded, "Mr. Parker, where are you heading?"
It was Benjamin.
He had been waiting here all along.
Frank, expressionless, lowered the hand that had shielded his eyes and took another look. Only then did he notice Benjamin standing there, impeccably dressed, his face wearing a meaningful smile that seemed to radiate a leisurely confidence, as if to say, "Frank, you can't escape."
This was their first encounter since the incident, and the air between the two men was charged with tension.
Noticing Frank's slow reaction, Benjamin taunted, "Frank, you won't get away. No matter what you try, as long as I wish it, you won't succeed."
He was making it clear to Frank that his recent peace was only because Benjamin allowed it. If he chose otherwise, Frank would have been caught long ago.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
That was typical of Benjamin.
Frank's eyes narrowed, his face a mask of displeasure as he retorted, "Oh, Benjamin, you really talk yourself up. If you're so powerful, why haven't you made your move yet?" Frank knew there was truth in Benjamin's words, but given their adversarial relationship, he was reluctant to admit it.
Unruffled by the provocation,
Benjamin just looked at him calmly, his tone stiff mocking, "Even if I do nothing, aren't you already panicking like an ant on a hot pan? Besides, relying on women to achieve your goals while having no real skill of your own, even if I do nothing... you're terrified, aren't you?"
As Benjamin Spoke, his thin lips curled into a slight, mocking smile, intensifying Frank's feelings of inferiority, making him feel deeply insulted, as if an immense humiliation had just been inflicted upon him.
