Chapter 198
Lucian was the first to break the silence, "Asher, what are you staring at? Stop them."
It took a moment for Asher to snap into action. He stepped forward, grabbing Lemira by the shoulders, "Lemira, cut it out."
But Lemira wouldn't budge and kept on hitting Evelina.
Having no choice, Asher lifted Lemira off her feet. In response, Lemira turned and bit into his wrist, only letting go when she tasted blood.
Asher winced in pain, "Lemira, have you lost your mind?"
Lemira wiped her mouth, her hair a mess and her eyes cold. She spoke calmly, "You all drove me to this!"
Alaric helped Evelina up, but Evelina's face was all swollen, hair a tangled mess. She burst into tears, "Asher, you have to stand up for me. She hit me!"
Asher was overwhelmed, turning to Lemira, "Aren't you going to apologize?"
"Apologize?" Lemira turn to pick up a vase from the table and hurl it at Asher, "Evelina started it. Why should I apologize? Tell me why!"
Caught in the heat of the moment, Lemira started smashing anything she could lay her hands on, cursing, "It's always been like this. Every time Evelina cries, I'm supposed to apologize. What the hell for? What do I owe you?" By the time she was done, the room was a disaster, her fury palpable.
Finally, grabbing a nearby IV stand, she glared at Asher and Evelina, "Say it again? Apologize for what? I didn't catch that."
Rejecting guilt-tripping, she'd rather lash out! Damn, it felt good.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

The room was in shambles. Everyone was afraid of speaking.
Asher, looking at the mess, couldn't help but say, "Lucian, look what you've turned her into. Throwing tantrums and smashing things!" Was that acceptable?
Lucian looked helpless. Lemira being pushed to this point was indeed their fault as her brothers. She couldn't be blamed for getting mad.
He looked up at Lemira, his tone tinged with guilt, "Can we put the thing down and talk this out?"
"No!" Lemira defiantly climbed onto the table, ready to go all out.
She had planned to distance herself from the Langstons, to live
separately. But if they were going to corner her, they couldn't blame her for not holding back.
Alaric blurted out, "Lemira, that's Lucian's IV stand!"
Only then did Lemira glance down, realizing it was true.
Evelina immediately cried out, "Lemmy, take it out on me, not Lucian's IV stand. He could get hurt."
Hearing this, Lucian frowned at Evelina. He hadn't noticed before how Evelina's words seemed caring but were actually blaming Lemira. This could make anyone think Lemira was at fault!
Lucian simply removed the IV, "It's alright. I can survive."
He didn't want the IV stand to be another reason for Lemira to be blamed. He owed so much to his
sister; he would even give his life for
her
Seeing Lucian's gesture, Lemira felt uncomfortable. She uttered coolly, "You don't need do this!"
She set the TV stand back and
pointed at Evelina, "Cry, cry, cry, that's all you fricking do. Every time you play the victim, it's like everything's my fault. So damn annoying!"
Evelina's act was disturbed by Lemira. She hadn't expected Lemira to lose it like that!
Evelina sobbed, playing up her victimhood, "Asher, it hurts so much."
Why not use a tactic as effective as playing the victim?
