Chapter 39 I’ve Never Been in This Much Pain Before
Isobel Lewis’s body stiffened and her entire body fell onto the ground.
“Hamish Francis——”
She suddenly shouted out, and everyone around her looked at her.
Hamish stopped and looked back at her; her eyes were all filled with coldness.
Isobel said, “Have you ever loved me?”
As she was saying, she suddenly stood up and stumbled towards him. She fiercely grabbed his collar,
“Did you ever love me?”
She asked another question, seemingly unwilling but seemed to have already despaired.
He didn’t say anything, and he just looked at her coldly as if he was looking at a mad person.
Isobel let go of her hand and took two steps back. She looked at him and suddenly smiled, “But I have
loved you.”
She paused for a moment, looked down, and did not know what to look at. Her tears fell to the ground,
and the people around her felt bad.
“I took your game seriously, and even though I knew you were just trying to revenge me, I never hated
you.”
“And yet you never loved me. Never!”
She was like a maniac, crying and laughing at the same time, “You can take my mother away if you
want, but Hamish, let me tell you, if anything happens to my mother, I will never forgive you forever! Not
for the rest of my life!”
After she finished saying, she wiped her tears furiously. She turned around and went back to get her
suitcase and walked towards the security check.
She wanted to get out of here, and she didn’t want to stay here anymore. It was too hard for her.
But when she heard the security staff asked her to show her ID and ticket, Isobel suddenly didn’t dare
to go.
She took a step back and ran out of the airport, dragging her suitcase with her.
The airport’s entrance was crowded. She bumped into someone and fell straight onto the luggage.
Isobel could only feel the pain. She held the suitcase and stood up again. She wanted to get up and
continue to leave, but suddenly she squatted down again.
She let go of the suitcase, hugged herself and started crying again.
When Stanley Shaw arrived, he saw such a scene.
He had never seen such a wretched Isobel. Even when Amanda Holder’s creditors caught up then, she
could calmly hold a basin of hot water to drive them away.
From the time he met her, he had never seen her cry.
Now she was squatting on the ground, crying and trembling; the whole person looks thin and helpless.
Stanley only felt his heart being hammered hard by something. He walked over, reaching out and
pulled her hand, “What’s the matter that made you cry here?”
Isobel seemed to have not heard what he said, and the whole person was buried inside her own hands.
Stanley had no choice but to pull her hands away.
Just as he pulled away Isobel’s hands, her eyes filled with tears went straight into his line of sight.
Stanley’s heart ached for a moment, “It’s alright. I’ll help you to get your mother back.”
Hearing his words, Isobel only moved, “He doesn’t love me; he’d rather want me to die.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t let him touch you again.”
He said and reached out tentatively, “I’ll hug you?”
Isobel didn’t say anything, and Stanley directly picked her up.
Her hand grasped his shirt, and the whole body was shaking, “At the beginning, he said he wanted me
to be his mistress. I knew he only wanted me to be his mistress, so I never believed it, but later, he took
me to meet his friends, he broke Kit’s hand, he fought those who coveted me, and people around us
said we were a perfect match. “
“But later, he wanted me to be sensible. Therefore, I sensibly took his money, and watch him and
Martha Sutton be together. Then I knew that from the beginning to the end, I was the only one who
naively thought he also loved me.” “I knew he didn’t love me, I knew it, but I didn’t know that from the
beginning to the end, he just wanted to set up a trap for me. He wanted me to live my life worse than
death, wanted to ruin my family.”
“Stanley, I’ve never been in so much pain.”
Every word was all of her blood and tears during this time.
Stanley looked at her. Her tear was dropping down from her cheeks and dripped on his sweater.
Soon, the second tear also followed.
More and more tears fell. Then the tears reached his hand as if the coolness could enter his heart.
Isobel did not speak again; just her bright eyes were now empty and looking nowhere.
Stanley carried Isobel into the car. The driver saw her face and did not dare to speak.
“Drive.”
Just after saying, the car slowly drove up.
Isobel only then slightly came back to her senses. She moved a little and pushed him a bit, “I’ll sit
alone.”
Stanley did not bother her, and let go of her hand.
Isobel leaned back and looked out of the car window with her head tilted. She did not talk and do
anything.
He looked at her and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll have someone bring your mother back right away.”
Hearing his words, Isobel moved slightly.
She looked at him and pursed her lips, “You can’t bring it back.”
“Although the Francis family is big and powerful, there are also many secrets which are held in other’s
hand. Gabriel is not ordinary, and he will not allow Hamish to mess around.”
Isobel did not speak again, she closed her eyes, but her hand was pinching her palm.
Freddie Kennedy had been unaware of what Hamish was doing to Isobel. When he heard that Hamish
had brought someone to stop Isobel early in the morning, he was finally relieved.
He thought that he would hear the good news that Hamish and Isobel had reconciled, but he only
heard that Hamish had taken Isobel’s mother away.
Now the whole city was rumored that Stanley would not hesitate to offend the Francis family for Isobel.
Despite this, Hamish still did not let go of Amanda.
Hearing this news, Freddie’s whole body froze for a moment.
He rushed to ZC Group, and without waiting for Hamish’s secretary to inform him, he directly pushed
open the door of Hamish’s office, “Hamish, are you crazy? Why are you detaining to Isobel’s mother?
Are you trying to push Isobel into the arms of someone else?” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Hamish, who was answering the phone, heard his words. He hung up the phone and looked at him with
a cold smile, “I’m not trying to push her into someone else’s arms. I’m trying to push her into the
abyss!”
Freddie was stunned, “Don’t you——like Isobel?”
“Like?”
As if he had just heard a joke, he burst out laughing.
“His father’s drunk driving killed both my parents, and you’re asking me if I like her? If it was you, would
you like Yasmin Williams?!”
“But it has nothing to do with her, Isobel is also a victim!”
Freddie felt that the amount of information was too much for him to accept for a while.
“Her surname is Lewis, Freddie. As long as her surname is Lewis, this issue has something to do with
her!”
“You’ll regret it Hamish!”
Freddie thought Hamish was crazy, and she never knew his best friend was such a paranoid person.
“Regret?” He sneered, “Then let’s wait for the day when I regret it.”
