Chapter 18 Have You Forgotten What You Said?
Isobel was tossed onto the bed shortly. Darren followed them in and locked the door from the inside.
He was dragging a small suitcase. He took a look at her and bent over to open the suitcase.
Seeing what was inside, Isobel froze.
She jumped from the bed to the other side. Darren picked up a rope and looked at her. “If you’re not
obedient, I’ll ask someone to help me. Miss Lewis, I don’t think you want to be watched by someone
else, do you?”
Isobel’s face paled when she heard his threat.
She had known that Darren Chester liked abusing women in bed, but she just heard about it before.
Now she saw what was in his suitcase, her whole body trembling.
She grabbed the lamp on the nightstand, holding it in front to protect herself. “Mr. Chester, if you come
one step further, you can’t blame me for being impolite to you.”
Darren pulled a long face. “If you dare to lay a finger on me today, I’ll sell you to Africa tomorrow.”
Isobel’s hands shook, and the lamp almost fell to the floor.
Darren didn’t take her threat seriously at all. He approached her step by step with a black rope in his
hands.
“Stop coming over. Stop!”
Isobel was indeed frightened. The room was above the tenth floor and there were Darren’s men
guarding outside the door. Even if she had wings, she couldn’t escape at all.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
However, her warning didn’t work. Seeing Darren Chester approaching her closer, Isobel raised her
hand and smashed the lamp onto his head.
“Hiss --”
Since she tried her best, the wound on Darren’s forehead started bleeding right away.
When Darren was crying out in pain, Isobel took the chance, rushed into the bathroom, and locked the
door from the inside. Leaning against the door, she pulled out her phone from her purse.
When she saw Hamish’s number, her finger paused on the screen.
Isobel didn’t know what she still hadn’t given up. When she came back to her senses, she had already
tabbed to call him.
The call was soon connected. However, the person who answered the phone was not Hamish. “Miss
Lewis?” It was Martha Sutton’s voice. For the first time, Isobel felt herself extremely cheap.
She wanted to hang up the phone, but Martha’s complacent laughter was heard from the other end of
the line. “Miss Lewis, do you want to talk to Hamish? You want him to save you, right? Unfortunately
I’m afraid you might be disappointed. I know you don’t believe me. All right, I’ll help you.”
Finishing her words, Martha called out, “Hamish, it’s a call from Miss Lewis. I heard her voice. It seems
she’s not well.”
Wondering if she did it on purpose, Isobel listened to her words, which were like stones thrown direct to
her heart.
She wanted to hang up the phone, but she was reconciled.
Time passed by. Darren Chester was smashing the door outside. Her body leaning against the door
bounced.
“What’s the matte?”
The man’s indifferent voice was heard on the phone. Isobel burst into tears. “Hamish, please help me.
Save me, please!”
“Have you forgotten what you said?”
‘Have you forgotten what you said?’ she reechoed his question inwardly.
His question was like a sharp blade, pressing straight down from the top of her head. She was instantly
split in half, overwhelmed with sorrow.
Isobel was startled. Her cell phone slipped from her hand and dropped to the floor. She had never been
so despairing before.
“Isobel Lewis, get out!”
The door behind her was kicked violently. Isobel came back to her senses. She quickly lay face down
on the ground under the sink and got back her phone.
The call was still connected, but it was Martha’s voice again. She hung up the phone and dialed
Eduard’s number.
She had never expected that the only one who she could call for help now was Eduard.
Eduard answered the phone pretty soon, “Isobel? Why are you free to --”
“Eduard, I’m in Room 1414 of Camellia Restaurant. Hurry up to save me! Please!”
As soon as she finished her words, there was another violent kick on the door behind her. The phone
flew out from her hand and smashed onto the floor. Its screen blacked out.
Isobel stared at the phone, taken aback. Darren Chester kept kicking at the bathroom door from the
outside.
She dared not to open the door, nor did she know where to hide. All she could do was to sit on the floor
and hug her knees tightly against the door, hoping she could be rescued by someone.
