Two Times The Charm Novel (Clara and Emmett)

Chapter 383

Chapter 383

“Really?” Clara quickly grabbed it. After looking at the picture of two kids standing there unharmed, she finally let out a sigh of relief.

“What’s going on with Leah? Has she given the antidote to Emmett yet?”

She had originally intended not to get involved in anything about Emmett, but she couldn’t help asking.

Elio found a place to sit down. “She’s been saved. Sophia has been looking after her in the hospital. I guess he should have already received the antidote. Leah won’t let him die.”

Clara gave a bitter smile. “Emmett’s mother has never liked me. Now that Leah, the savior, is here, she must like her even more. Plus, Leah must have claimed she’s the biological mother of the two kids. She’ll fully support Leah being with Emmett.”

“You see, it might not be a bad thing to leave such a family sooner. Emmett’s mother is such a nasty woman. How could she think Leah is a good person?” Elio spoke with a sense of injustice for Clara. “You’ve been treating them so well and giving them your all, even protecting them! And what did you get? She just wants to replace you. If you were with me, my mother would surely…”

His words suddenly stopped, not daring to go any further!.

Clara smiled slightly, pretended not to hear, and continued to plant flowers.

“I’m not hungry; you go ahead.”

“How can you be like this?” Elio walked over to pull her up: “Go wash your hands. It’s boring for me to eat breakfast alone. Accompany me.”

Clara nodded. “Okay, actually, I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“I want to leave here and go back to my old home.”

Elio frowned. “Aren’t you afraid Emmett will come looking for you?”

“He won’t!” Clara gave a disappointed smile. “You don’t know, but he’s very proud. The last time I spoke to him, I hurt him deeply; he should have given up on me.”

At the Melendez family’s home.

Because of the kidnapping, Aiden and Alex hadn’t been to school for the past few days.

After this incident, Alex seemed to have grown a lot, and there wasn’t that much laughter on his face anymore.

In the children’s room.

Alex looked at his brother, who had just walked over, and asked in a low voice, “They still haven’t found Mom?”

“Um.” Aiden nodded and sat back on his bed. “I just heard Grandma and Grandpa talking; they seemed to be saying that our mom had an affair with Mr. Milburn.”

“Mr. Milburn?!” Alex was shocked. “That’s impossible; didn’t Mom reject him before?”

“I’m not sure about that. But judging from Grandma’s agitated look, it seem’s Dad believes it too.”

Alex immediately stood up and quickly pulled Aiden. “Then quickly take me to see Dad! I can explain this to him. Mom told me before that she would never be with Mr. Milburn; there must be a misunderstanding! Can’t we just explain this to them?”

“Don’t be impulsive. Mom hasn’t mentioned this until now, and we don’t have the right to get involved. Calm down.” Aiden didn’t move, but instead pulled Alex. “We’re just kids; we don’t know the reasons for many things, so don’t make things worse.”

“Is this making things worse? I think if we don’t speak up, Mom might really leave!”
