Chapter 10 You say I'm old
**Miley's POV**
I stood at the door, watching Sissy to sit into the car that was arranged to give her a ride to work. I stayed there until I could see the car, then I turned to get back into the building. However, when I wanted to walk on, the butler stood in my way. He had a stern face, and his gaze was icy.
"The master wants me to tell you to keep the person here." He said with indifference.
"Didn't you take her to the club yesterday? Why isn't she gone?" I retorted sharply. I was truly astonished to see her walking in yesterday with William. She should have died last night, and I couldn't discover the reason William kept her alive. The other thing bothered me a lot was that the way William looked at Sissy differed from before, but I couldn't quite discern what had changed.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
I feared if William changed his mind, then I...
I forced myself to remain indifferent, not giving a chance to the butler to read my thoughts.
He remained expressionless, but the disrespect in his eyes towards me was unmistakable. His grey-blue eyes were similar to those of an eagle, they installed fear in others easily.
"This is not your concern." He said in a contemptuous tone, then left me there. I clenched my fist. I glared at his retreating figure while he walked away. I couldn't hate him more, but I didn't dare to confront him, as he was not a creature I could provoke.
I strolled back into my room, but I was puzzled as to why William had let Sissy return alive. I knew I couldn't be at ease until I found the answer. **Sissy's POV**
I took out my phone in the car, and I checked my Instagram. As I scrolled down, a horrible feeling hit me. I wanted to find the news about the serial killer's gaze that I saw on the TV a few days ago, but it wasn't there. I tried to search for the case, but it disappeared as if it had never existed.
How could such significant news vanish without a trace?
Even if this bothered me a lot, I had to stop thinking about it, as we arrived near the company. I stopped the driver, as I didn't want others to see me getting into work, drove by a driver in an expensive car. I walked the short distance instead. When I reached the entrance, I saw Aiden. His appearance surprised me.
"Aren't you off on a business trip with the boss?" I asked him, thinking all the secretaries had joined the CEO on the trip, helping him out.
Aiden chuckled lightly and walked into the lift.
"The boss has more than just me as his direct employee." I realised he was quite ignorant just then. Of course, Mr. William had more secretaries in such a large company. The CEO was busy with numerous tasks, so it was unlikely he had only one direct employee. There might even be a room for all the secretaries and for the several assistants accompanying him.
I smiled at the thoughts. Probably a gentle dimple formed at the corner of my lips. That caused Aiden to pause momentarily before averting his gaze.
In the last moment, before the lift door shut, Isabella rushed inside it and after glancing at Aiden, I knew from her expression; she noticed he was staring at me. Her face hardened, turned icy instantly.
The elevator stopped, and we stepped out of it together in silence. I got to my desk, then I started working. However, in the afternoon I had to face her again.
"Sissy, you graduated from a prestigious school, and you have ample work experience. How can you present such a childish plan? At noon, in our meeting, your well-prepared plan was criticised as utterly useless. Even a street vendor could do better than you." Her sharp words silenced everyone in the room. I could feel my colleagues' gaze on me. I thought that they probably heard about me leaving with the CEO himself last evening. Even if I felt embarrassed by that, I thought Isabella was truly bold to dare offend me like that.

I was taught manners, and even if I considered myself as a good-natured person, I couldn't tolerate being treated this way.
I straightened my back, then I asked.
"Isabella, what is wrong with my plan? I adjusted it according to the supervisor's requirement, integrating all possibilities. I don't see where it went wrong." Isabella chuckled in exasperation, and her index finger nearly poked my forehead.
"You are shameless. Trying to use the supervisor to pressure me? Don't think you can fool me just because the supervisor isn't here. I've clearly stated that our target audience for this product is young people, but in your mind, it seems to belong to an elderly person."
I sighed.
“It is true this product is targeted at young people, but I don't think it necessarily has to be designed in pink. Young girls don't really like pink that much. It's only older women who are desperate to hold on to their youth that obsess over pink." I only realised she was wearing pink when I finished the sentence, and her face showed that this statement struck a nerve with her.
“Are you calling me old?" She was close to yelling. Honestly, I had no intention of mocking her age. She was thirty-five, only a few years older than me, so I had no reason to do that, anyway.
I felt a little embarrassed because of that, so I was about to explain my bad, but Isabella suddenly rushed over like a madwoman, and she held my hair, pulling it hard. The pain made me have no choice but to move as she pulled me. She pinned me on the floor quickly, and making a fist, tried to hit me, but someone pulled her away in time. The way she looked at me made me imagine her as a predator. Certainly, she would have bitten off a chunk of my flesh in her rage
