Chapter 5 Because I Find It Dirty
The first room on the third floor was bathed in sunlight, spacious, and even had a large halcony. It had remained uncerspied, and Eleanor had transformed it into her personal haven.
"The first room on the third floor?" Eleanor blinked, a hint of surprise crossing her features. She appeared taken aback by this revelation
That room was one she had set her sights on. She had intended to decorate it to her liking, display her collectibles, and even practice the piano there, She and her brother Benjamin could also stargaze from the balcony. Now, Charlotte was going to claim it for herself!
first room on the third floor? Sure, I'll have someone prepare it right away," Christopher breathed a sigh of relief, fearing conflict between Charlotte and Eleanor over the room. This arrangement seemed to suit everyone. "But that room. Eleanor barrowed her hems, struggling to find the right words, her tone reluctant.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem? Christopher turned to her, puzzled.
"N-nothing... Eleanor hit her lip, denying any discontent.
Of course, she couldn't reveal her true thoughts. The room contained her belongings, and claiming them now would mean treating them like trash.
A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on Charlotte's lips as the approached Eleanor, whispering words only they could hear. "I won't take your Toom. With a sly smirk, she added, "because I find it dirty."
The words lingered in the air, and Eleanor's eyes widened. Her face poled, a mix of anger and frustration crossing her gaze. But she dared not retort!
Charlotte then walked past Eleanor, heading straight for the young man behind her.
"Younger brother," she addressed Edward, her tone sincere.
Edward was taken aback. He had been wary and curious about this unknown older sister, but that simple address seemed to disarm has defenses.noveldrama
"Sister," he responded involuntarily, a hint of youthfulness lighting up his features.
Charlotte patted his shoulder. This family had only two people willing to care for her-Christopher and Edward. She wouldn't let their relationship be manipulated this time. She would protect them.
As for Vanessa and Eleanor. she looked forward to outsmarting them!
The next day, Christopher and Vanessa accompanied Charlotte on a trip to the Bellerose family's ancestral home. With the true daughter returning, it was only appropriate to pay their respects to the family's elders.
Charlotte was led to the main hall of the grand and ancient Bellecose estate. Christopher and Vanessa sat before the venerable grandparents, emanating an air of solemn authority.
Charlotte lowered her gaze, her expression neutral. She answered their questions succinctly. After a while, the elders grew disinterested. The other grandchildren were all sweet talkers, but this one seemed like a closed book. Charlotte was truly a hillbilly, raised in the mountains. Now she had come to their grand estate, all crooked and rustle.
Christopher continued to be in high spirits, oblivious to any discord. However, Vanessa keenly sensed the elders' disappointment
She clenched her fist, her displeasure towards Charlotte deepening
Their family was not liked by the elderly in the first place, and now they had this oddity to deal with.
Finally, the elders decided to give Charlotte, formerly known as Lily, a new name. Thus, "Charlotte" became her new name.
Leaving the ancestral home, Charlotte employed the excuse of shopping to venture out alone. Then, she made her way to Marlet Club.
