The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 50

Katrina's Pov

I spun my seat around, watching the ceiling spinning as I turned repeatedly.

It's been a few days since that Ciara chic came here, and I have been seeing less and less of Silas

After the argument we had that day if you would call it that, he has been walking past me anytime he sees me

And I was mad at him as well. I knew our relationship wasn't all that, but he could have at least told me that he was betrothed.

It didn't help that each time Ciara saw me, she stared at the like the wanted to end me.

I'm bored!" I groaned, throwing my head back

I couldn't live like this anymore, I wanted a hostage; my father had given me off to him, so why was I still living this way?

An idea came to my mind and I instantly pushed up from my seat, not minding that I had been spinning for some minutes How

That action was instantly regretted when I miscalculated my step, leading to me kissing the floor moments later

"Ow I cried, clutching my elbow.

All this was Silas' fault!

If I didn't see the need to see him, I wouldn't have pushed up from my seat.

But that was by the way

After making sure I could walk properly, I made a beeline out of my room, heading straight for Silas' office.

Where are you going? Someone asked from behind me and I gasped, spinning around immediately.

My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach, my face white as a sheet.

Standing right in front of me was the man from my nightmare, Phillip..

I instantly took a step back, trying to create as much distance between us as I possibly could.

I hadn't seen him since I had woken up, and I was glad I could avoid him as much as I could.

But seeing him in front of me right now brought back memories 1 had been trying to forget and my body trembled.

"Did you not hear me?" He asked, his voice stiff and he stared at the blankly.

He took a step forward and I instantly stepped back.

"Don't come any closer, I cried, putting my arms in front of me as a means of protection.

Phillip frowned but made no move to step forward, putting his hands in his pocket.

"Silas isn't in his office, he's in the meeting room with some of the members. You shouldn't-" "Where's the room" I instantly cut him off, wanting to be away from him as soon as possible. 1/4

Phillip's eyes narrowed, clearly not liking being cut off but I didn't care

My whole body screamed for me to get the hell out of there, and I was going to listen.

He pointed straight ahead and I turned around, running off without a second thought.

I could feel his eyes on me as I walked, goosebumps spreading dirough my body.

It didn't take long before I got to the roont. Even from outside, could hear their voices as they argued about something.

A particular voice caught my attention and 1 frowned instantly,

Why was Ciara there!

I didn't bother knocking as I pushed the door open, stepping into the meeting room.

Different pairs of eyes snapped at me instantly, each of them holding an annoyance towards the person who had interrupted their meeting.

The air immediately felt heavy, thick with tension as they realized I was the one.

Ciara was the first to speak, her voice sharp.

"Are you unable to knock?" She hissed, eyes raking over me in irritation.

I felt the cold stares of the others in the room, their eyes burning into me like icy daggers.

But I ignored them all, keeping my gaze fixed on Silas. He was the one I was here to see so I didn't have to answer to anyone. especially not Ciara. Silas remained quiet, his silence louder than anything in the room

Ciara didn't give up, annoyance flickering through her face,

"You're interrupting a family meeting, Leave." Her voice was firm, and murmurs of agreement rippled through the room, but Silas stayed quiet Silas was the Don here, and yet he hadn't asked me to leave, how dare she try to throw me out?

My eyes shifted to her immediately, and I said the first thing that came to mind.

I'm the one married to Silas, not you. I have more rights to be here than you do," I said in a matter-of-fact tone.

I don't think I have ever accepted being Silas' wife in front of anyone, and it felt weird.

Her lips opened and closed numerous times, but no words came out

Guess I made her speechless.

I took a breath, trying to steady my nerves. I didn't forget what came here for.

need to talk to you," I said, my eyes still locked on Ciara as I emphasized, "In privates"

Ciara scoffed, arms crossing over her chest. "Can't you see we're in the middle of a meeting? You don't-

"Everyone out," Silas cut in, his voice smooth but commanding. The room went silent, Ciara blinked, stunned

I was surprised as well.

He wanted to end the treting and throw them all out because of me.

"What? Silas, are you listening to her?" she asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

"Out" Silas repeated, this time with an edge that made everyone including Ciara, hesitate.

The tension in the mom thickened and I swallowed hard.

He was the Don, and they had to listen to him.

The first person pushed up from his seat, his eyes filled with hatted as he walked past me

"But="Ciara tried again, her tone sharper now, but Silas didn't let her finish,

"Don't make me repeat myself," he said, a clear warning in his voice.

One by one, each of the members walked past me, the stine hodility seen in their faces as they cleared out.

Right now, it was just Ciara in the room, and I waited for her to leave as well.

You're still here. I stated, a brow coming up.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

The last time she had completely humiliated me, and this time, it was my turn

Anger flashed across Ciara's face, her lips pressing into a thin line as she glared at me.

Without another word, she stormed toward the door, hitting my shoulder hard as she passed.

The door slammed shut behind her as the others filed out, leaving just me and Silas in the room.

Silas leaned back in his chair, his legs spread, taking up as much space as possible, and watched me with those cold eyes.

He stared at me as he waited for me to speak, his eyes boring holes into me.

Everything I had planned to say instantly disappeared from my mind.

'Speak. Don't waste my time,"

I swallowed, feeling the weight of his gaze on me.

My palms were clammy, and my heart pounded in my chest, but I had to ask.

"I need a favor." I said, my voice quieter than I intended, but I forced myself to keep going.

It seemed as if he was going to say no and I instantly regretted coming to ask him

"Katrina, Silas asked and I snapped my eyes to him.

"I want to leave this place,"

For a moment, there was nothing but silence.

Silas's expression didn't change, but I could feel the shift in the room. His eyes flicked over me, assessing, calculating, and I held my breath, waiting for his response.
