Chapter 258 Nausea

"Ranita, why don't you stay here for lunch?" Kora warmly invited Ranita and she couldn't refuse the offer.

Kora was too enthusiastic towards her, constantly serving her food and asking about her hometown, education background, likes and dislikes...

Ranita was overwhelmed.

"Mr. Webster, Kora is really too friendly!" Ranita whispered to Chris.

Chris remained calm and said, "These wealthy women have boring lives."

He was right!

These wealthy women had plenty of money but were bored. They had been here for so long but only Kora stayed with them all the time. It must be lonely for her.

Ranita had a gentle personality and even though she found it hard to resist Kora's enthusiasm, she did not show any impatience towards her. Instead they chatted about everything under the sun.

Eventually they talked about translation which was Ranita's forte and the conversation continued on that topic.

Time flew by unnoticed as Chris prepared to leave with Ranita when they met Shannon at the door!

Shannon stood at the entrance of the opposite villa, about to enter. When she suddenly noticed Ranita, her eyes lit up. "Ranita! What are you doing here?" she exclaimed.

She then looked at Chris, "Hello Chris!"

Chris nodded indifferently, "We still have things to do so we'll leave now. See you next time."

"Chris," Shannon said slyly while looking at him directly in his eyes, "I remember this is your aunt's house? You never took me inside before but your relationship with Ranita seems really good!" She sounded like an insincere person who could switch between being nice or nasty easily. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

Shannon innocently looked at Ranita.

Ranita felt nauseated at the sight of her and suppressed her disgust as she said, "Miss Murphy, please step aside. We have something important to attend to, so please don't block our way."

"Ranita, why do you always have this attitude towards me? Have I done something wrong again? I just said a couple of things," Shannon paused, biting her lip with a pitiful look. "You're being so unfair."

Who was being unfair?

Before Ranita could speak, Chris intervened, calmly saying, "Shannon, we really have something to take care of. If you have something to say, just say it quickly."

"If there's nothing else to say, we'll leave first."

With that, Chris opened the car door and shielded Ranita as she got in. Shannon felt embarrassed and even more aggrieved. She stopped Chris and gritted her teeth, saying, "Chris, why are you so good to Ranita? Do you know she's not planning to divorce Brendon anymore?"

Chris furrowed his brows.

"And then?"

"If she doesn't divorce, she's still a married woman. But the way she's stringing you along, don't you think it's too much?"

Thankfully, they were separated by the car window. Otherwise, Ranita would have come out and thrown curses at her. Chris was uncomfortable and frowned. "Shannon, you misunderstood. Ranita and I are just friends. Whether or not she divorces Brendon is their business."

"Also, if she really doesn't divorce Brendon, then Brendon is a married man. There's something I've been wanting to advise you for a long time now: even though you and Brendon have been playing together since childhood and have good feelings towards each other, but after all we're adults now. Sometimes we need to set boundaries when necessary."

Then Chris got into the driver's seat without giving Shannon another glance.

Shannon was already in a good mood before being scolded again. Her teeth were clenched with anger. She forced herself to calm down because she couldn't give up - she had to find a way for Brendon to divorce Ranita!

She was Mrs. Stuart! She had gave away this position for three years already- there was no way that she would let it go!
