Jace pursed his lips as he bent down and picked it up.

"It's about the A5 project. I think we need to reconsider..." The Mayor hesitated before continuing, "Salvador Corporation's stock has been plummeting these past two days. The press conference fiasco has left your reputation in crisis.

"Under such tense circumstances, if I continue to favor you, I'll be accused of favoritism. If this gets investigated, not only will Salvador Corporation lose the project, but I might even get called in for questioning by the disciplinary committee..."

If this footage were leaked, it would spell complete and utter ruin for the Mayor.

Grant's voice remained indifferent. "You're overreacting."

He glanced at Jace, who immediately stepped forward and poured him a fresh cup of tea.

"I simply recorded your glorious moment, just in case you ever needed a reminder that we are on the same boat."

The Mayor's voice was hoarse with anger, "You-!"

Grant sipped his tea, unbothered. His voice turned darker. "The gift I prepared for you isn't just this. There's also a record of your extravagant spending at my establishments over the past year. If I hand that account book over to the prosecution, do you think the Savrow government will award you with a 'Model Citizen' banner?"
