Chapter 2442
Chapter 2442
The golden iris was a symbol of victory.
"Ms. Bella, we still have time. We'll definitely make it to the press conference!" Steven's eyes were resolute as he floored the gas pedal.
"Safety first." Bella's voice was calm, almost soothing. At such a critical moment, she seemed unusually composed. "Amelia is about to give birth, and you're going to be a father soon. Now that you have a wife and child, don't act recklessly like before."
Thinking of his soon-to-be-born first child, a warm smile spread across Steven's happy face.
Bella closed her eyes, her mind racing non-stop.
In fact, she was merely forcing herself to stay sharp at this moment.
Since Yvonne's disappearance, she had not slept well even once. Insomnia had taken its toll, erasing the carefree young woman who could once sleep through anything. That version of her was gone forever.
She had once fought her way out of a pile of corpses and overcome countless difficult challenges.noveldrama
There was no way she would let herself fail now and lose to Grant!
As the car approached the toll gate to the Savrow expressway, Bella's phone rang. It was an
unknown caller.
Normally, she would not answer calls from unknown numbers.
But today, a strange feeling tugged at her chest. Her gut told her this call was important, something she couldn't ignore.
Quickly, she hit the answer button and brought the phone to her ear. "Hello, who is this?" The next moment, her eyes widened, and her heart pounded violently.
Thanks to Jace's behind-the-scenes interference, Justin and Asher managed to arrive at the underground parking lot of the Salvador Hotel.
"Ian, are you holding up?" Justin looked at Ian's pale face, his brows furrowing tightly.
"I'm fine... I've got this!" Ian forced a grin, though it was hard to tell if he was trying to smile or mask the pain.
Justin pressed his lips into a tight line and pulled off his tie. With practiced ease, he started wrapping it around Ian's wound.
Ian's lips trembled, and tears welled in his eyes. He was so moved he almost cried!
Dr. Wagner exclaimed, "Mr. Salvador, where did you learn medical skills like this? Your bandaging technique is incredibly professional!"
"I served as a peacekeeper on the battlefield. I learned from the doctors stationed during missions in Kridor," Justin casually said as he lowered his gaze.
Hearing this, Asher's breath hitched. His lips parted, but he hesitated to speak.
Bella had warned him, time and again, not to tell Justin the truth-that she was his savior. She did not want his love out of gratitude or for him to feel the burden of knowing she was his Little Dove.
The past was the past.
She was simply Bella, a woman who loved Justin. Nothing more.
However, as Justin finished tying off the bandage, Asher hesitated again before speaking." Justin."
"What is it?" Justin looked up, his sharp eyes meeting Asher's eyes.
"Actually..."
Suddenly, the clanging sound of metal echoed from the far end of the parking lot.
Justin and Asher both exited the car and looked toward the source of the noise.
A group of thugs wielding iron rods emerged from the shadows, their expressions cold and sinister. The dragging sound of metal on concrete echoed through the space.
"Damn it! Will it never end?!" Ian cursed in frustration, trying to get out of the car, only to be held back by Dr. Wagner.
Justin and Asher exchanged a wordless glance, their fists clenching in unison.
They had come this far. There was no turning back now.
Let the storm rage on. They were ready for whatever came next.
What do you think?
