Chapter 3: “You’re a son of a billionaire for fuck sake”
“Damn it,” John screamed as he hit his steering wheel repeatedly in anger.
“Calm down, John,” Justin said as he held his friend. “We will surely get her next time.”
“Next time?” John screamed angrily as he shoved Justins hand from his shoulder. “There might not be a next time. Do you know how long I have been waiting to get one Derricks associate, any, just to have one slip out of my fucking hands.”
Justin sighed and said, “we received the call from the hotel too late and–”
“Too late or not, we should have gotten her, man,” John screamed as he interrupted Justin. “We might have came late but when we came she was there,” he said as he sighed. “I should have searched that little girls room first.”
“Bro, don’t take it all on yourself,” Justin said as he tried consoling his friend. “Let’s just find a way outta here and back to the apartment so we can take our rest because I’m fucking tired.” John sighed and nodded.
“Yeah, you’re right,” he said as turned on the car. “Let’s go home.” John changed the car’s gear to reverse and smashed the accelerate. The car’s tyres screeched as it tried getting out of the tight alleyway it was stuck in.
“This goddamn place is too tight, man,” John said as he turned off the car. “This thing ain’t going nowhere.”
“So, that means we’re taking a cab?” Justin asked and John sighed. “We could just call the team to come take the car in the morning,” Justin suggested.
“Nah,” John said as he shook his head. “I’m taking this car home.” John turned on the car, put it on reverse and floored the accelerator heavily.
After what seemed like forever, the car shot backwards will full speed. John screamed as he applied the brakes immediately but due to the speed at which the car pulled out with, the car just kept on moving. It jammed into the wall of a store, breaking it down completely. Justin and John turned to look at the damage he had caused and they both winced upon seeing the broken wall.
“So… cab?” Justin said.
“Yup,” John replied almost immediately. “Cab it is.”

John arrived at his house later that night. He had escorted Justin to his apartment before going to his.All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
He pulled out the key to his door from his pocket and stuck it in the key hole. He twisted the key and pushed the door but the door remained closed.
“What the fuck?” John cussed as he tried pushing the door open again. He paused after a few tries and pulled out the key. He put it up to his face and stared at it as he groaned. It was twisted. “Why does this always happen to me, man?” he asked no one in particular. “And why now?”
John stood by his door as he thought of what to do. “Justin,” he muttered as his eyes lit up. He brought out his phone, dialed Justins number and put it to his ear and after a few rings, Justin picked.
“Watsup, John,” Justin said. “Why you calling? We just saw each other off a couple of minutes ago.”
“I know, I know,” John replied. “Just that I’ve got a code grey again.”
“Your sis was drunk driving and she hit a passerby… again?” Justin asked and John groaned.
“No, man,” John replied. “That one’s a code orange.”
“Oh,” Justin muttered. “Key’s twisted again, huh?”
“Yeah, man,” John said as he sighed. “I just wanted–”
“Wait, why do we have a code color for your sisters drunk driving accidents again?” Justin asked, interrupting John and John groaned loudly.
“Because she always gets angry at my dad and her boyfriend for stupid unknown reasons and we know that whenever she gets mad, she’d love to drink her anger out and when she drinks, she gets drunk and when she gets drunk and drives, she always manages to put herself in trouble one way or the other,” he said sharply. “So, the whole code color thing is just to represent all that I just said and you know it. Now, back to my current predicament.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Justin said as he chuckled. “Your whole house key broken issue.”
“Yes and thank you,” John said. “What I was saying wa–”
“Why does that always happen to you though, man?” Justin asked, interrupting John again. “There is no time that passes that your key doesn’t get either twisted, broken or lost.”
” Would you please stop mocking me and hear what I want to say?” John pleaded, groaning at the same time.
“Alright, alright. I’m sorry,” Justin apologized. “I’m all ears now.”
“Thank you… again,” John said and Justin chuckled. “I was wondering if I could come over to your place to spend the night.”
“Damn,” Justin muttered. “I’m sorry, but Belle just arrived and we were planning on having the night to ourselves.”
“Oh,” John mumbled.
“Yeah, man. I’m really sorry,” Justin said. “Don’t think there’ll be enough room for all three of us.”
“It’s alright, Justin I understand.”
“Why don’t you go lodge at a hotel or something,” Justin suggested. “I think that’d be much more better than my place.”
John groaned and said, “as much as I’d love to, I can’t.”
“And, why?” Justin asked.
“Well, I really don’t have much cash on me,” John muttered.
“What did you say?” Justin asked confused.
“I said.
“What did you say?” Justin asked confused.
“I said that I don’t have m–”
“John, I heard what you fucking said,” Justin screamed before John could finish speaking.
“What I meant is… why? I mean, your dad is literally the richest man in this whole city. So rich enough, that he’s contesting for mayor, dude.”
“So, what you saying?” John asked. He knew exactly where his friend was heading to.
“What I’m saying is that you should act like the son of your father. You should be driving a fucking Ferrari, dude not a god forsaking police car, booming with sirens. ” Justin yelled and John had to shift the phone from his ear.
“You know why I can never do that, Justin,” he said. “You know what, bro? Just enjoy your night. I would talk to you later,” John said as he hung up and put his phone on silent. He looked at his room door and sighed. “I would be needing a new door after this.”
John took a few steps backwards and ran towards his door. He hit it with as much force as he could muster and the door split off its hinges, falling straight into his room. He picked up the broken door after and plopped it against the new entrance. He walked straight to his bed and laid on it, not bothering to take off his shoes or even change as he reminisced all that had happened that night.
