The Agent’s Badboy

Chapter 21 The day Darko despised Yegor

Darko was taking his lead to stay back at the mansion and take care of business for his boss, his half-brother who was privileged to be handed the family mob business.

He was staying behind the limelight and being his underboss, the man who apparently needs to take care of his girlfriend’s pet ball of fur.

Never in his life, he wants to be the boss, but Darko did envy the man for the one thing his boss wanted the least. He had spent his whole lifetime watching, as his half-brother was given everything by his dad. The same dad that wouldn’t even acknowledge him as his bastard son to his mob family.

Darko didn’t feel the sadness when the mob boss passed away, that man gave nothing but hatred looks towards him when his mom introduced little Darko as his son.

That day at a very young age, he had learned the importance of a sacred bond between the mafia families. And he was nothing but the kid that his dad deemed good enough to be his true heir’s right-hand man.

“Zasha, you’re not supposed to be here.” He greeted the beautiful woman in front of him.

After the last incident when Yegor sends her away, they have secretly bonded. She was the one that he envied from his half-brother.

“Seriously? you’re much more than his underboss. And he left you here for what? take care of the bitch’s fat cat?”

“What are you trying to say?” he said as he took her into his room after he told Nail that he was not to be disturbed until advised otherwise.

Being the underboss gives him privileges, one of them was privacy. No one would dare question him for his action, even if it’s to take the boss’ future wife.

No one would want to be the messenger of such news.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“I’m saying you should state yourself, you’re his son too.”

“And what? your dad won’t have me near you. I’m the bastard son. I may have a lot of money, but I’m not equal to Yegor. The family is not under my name, I’m not the rightful heir.” He explained as he was getting more irritated by her words.

He was looking out the window, combing his short strands with his fingers in frustration.

“Maybe someone should tell him…” she put her hands to his shoulder then lower them down to slither around his body and hugged him. Zasha rested her cheek to his back and sighed as she smelled his familiar expensive cologne.

“I’m not going to touch on that issue, I’m still busy handling our new recruits. You have no idea how bad the situation is after the Albanians…”

“Right, and you’re busy cleaning his mess while he’s honeymooning in Paris?”

“Zasha don’t,” he abruptly turned back and grabbed her by the waist, his other hand was to her neck possessively holding her.

Their kiss was full of passion and they were breathless in seconds.

“I’ve missed you.” The tall curvy woman whispered when they break in between their kisses.

“This is not…” Darko was trying to end the kiss, but she was trailing her hands under his shirt feeling his hard abs and Darko groaned as he was not immune to her seduction.

His shirt was on the floor within moments and she let out a sexy laugh when he pushed her roughly to his bed.

“One of these days you’re going to get me killed.” He said his words huskily while he unzipped her sexy red dress. Her red lingerie was making him harder and she knows it.

“You won’t be killed if you reveal your true self, I’m sure Yegor would be glad to free himself from me.” She stopped her kisses and looked deep into his eyes.

Her sadness was visible and he noticed it right away. Darko was wanting her, but he knows that she wanted him for all the wrong reasons. He was her easy way out. If she couldn’t get Yegor then she could at least get to him. And that knowledge was something that he didn’t want her to admit.

He liked her, he wanted her, but not because she’s one of the most influential mob family’s daughters in the Sokolov cartel.

“You think less of yourself, I’m sure you can get another man much better than me. Your dad…”

She looked at him and abruptly pulls away from him, she gets off the bed and tries to appear not to be saddened by another rejection but her tears fall already and she cursed on the inside for being such a cry baby.

“Zasha, please… you’re better than this,”

“Am I? Yegor hates me and I practically give myself to you and you rejected me.”

“Baby, that’s not it and you know it. Your family has…”

“Might as well leave my family behind then.” She started to get dressed and was putting on her heels while he just looks at her with a questioning look.

“What do you mean by leaving your family?”

“Well, exactly that… leave my family, and be done with it. I’m going to own my life and let my dad marry whoever he wants. I don’t give a damn anymore.”

“Where do you think you’re going to go? your dad has enemies more than he could count, why do you think he’s very adamant in marrying you off to Yegor?”

Darko was fuming with her careless decision, that he didn’t think through about his words which obviously hits straight to her core. She knows she’s just a pawn, she used to think that she’s daddy’s little girl. But growing up and finding out that she was being betrothed to Yegor was an eye-opener. Especially when the man detested your existence.

“Anywhere but here.” Her voice was just a whisper when she grabbed her purse and walked away from his bedroom.

Darko sighed and sits back on his bed, there was nothing he could do with Zasha, what they shared shouldn’t even happen. And he had risked Yegor’s standings should Zasha open her mouth about the things they did behind closed doors.

But that night everything’s changed when her dad called him asking where Zasha was. The man was saying that he couldn’t reach Yegor as well. Darko didn’t think she would do things that quick, he opened his laptop and activate the tracker he put on her keychain

The day Yegor told him that she was betrothed to him.

He reached her hideout an hour later, he told Nail that he was taking a break and instructed him to be on guard. That night Darko did not expect to see her sitting in front of the very large television watching a movie while drinking her cola. He sheathed his gun back and asked what was she doing.

“You have a tracker on me, didn’t you? I ditched my phone already, so… what gives?”

“Your dad is looking for you, what are you doing here Zasha?”

“I’m living my life,”

“For how long? you don’t have any means to get money once you drain your account.”

She just shrugged and didn’t even look at him as she kept on watching her movie and eating her room-temperature pizza.

“Sit with me.”

Darko followed her words and sit by her side, he could see her desperation and he was not liking it. He decided to wrap her in his arms and that was when she talked.

“I hope I can get away from him, I never wanted this life.” She sighed and rest her shoulder to his broad chest.

“You’re not safe, this is not how you…”

“Maybe I don’t want to be safe? maybe I’m just done.”

She was being stubborn and he was out of things to say. Darko has never been the talking kind, that’s why he prefers being the underboss.

But that day he didn’t want to be the underboss, that day he wanted to be him. Badly enough as he wanted to keep the fragile-looking blonde woman safe in his arms.

This won’t be difficult if I was the mob boss.

His mind wanders as he said nothing just keeping her close in his embrace.
