Chapter 475
Chapter 475
Leo made three trips to bring back the meals they bought. The three of them finished eating and left the
diner together.
Anya didn’t have classes right now. It was already autumn, but it was still very hot at noon.
Leo handed Anya his car keys. “If you’re feeling tired or hot, go to the car, crank up the air conditioning,
and take a nap.”
Anya stared at the hand Leo extended. She looked up at him. Her smile was twinkling like stars.
Leo chuckled, “You’re zoning out again. What are you grinning at? Hurry up and take this.”
Molly couldn’t help but laugh at this spectacle. One straightforward guy and one soft-spoken girl, they
were enough to keep Molly in stitches all day.
Anya took the car keys, while Leo and Molly went off to prepare for their next class.
Their schedules didn’t overlap; Leo had his classes in the early afternoon, while Anya had hers later.
After finishing his classes, Leo had to find Anya to get his keys back.
During the class, Molly received a call. Without wasting a minute after class, she rushed out in a panic.
This was out of character for Molly. However, Leo didn’t think much of it. He navigated through the
bustling crowd of students and, following Anya’s schedule, went straight to her classroom with his
textbooks.
When he arrived, the class hadn’t started yet.
In the classroom, Anya seemed to stand out, sitting alone in the front row while others huddled in small
groups. She was quietly reading. This made Leo’s job easier.
His entrance quieted the room. All eyes were on the most distinctive guy in the room. Everyone held
their breath, waiting to see what he would do. The silence in the room was for Leo.
He walked straight to Anya, and gently tapped the table in front of her with his index and middle fingers,
which was a signal that he was there.
Because of the silence, the sound of his tapping stood out in the room. Anya was startled. She looked
up to see who had come. “Leo?”
Anya stood. “Are you done with class?”
Leo nodded, reaching out his hand. “Anya, I need the car keys.”
Anya handed over the keys. “Are you going home now?”
Leo retorted, “If I go home, what will you do?”
At that moment, a young teacher entered the classroom. Leo didn’t linger. “I’ll wait in the car for you.
When class is over, I’ll pick you up. Now, focus on your class.”
Anya nodded, smiling as she watched Leo leave.
After Leo left, the room was filled with whispers. Some guessed they were cousins. Others thought they
were dating, and some even speculated that their families were preparing for a marriage alliance.
Anya wasn’t bothered by any of it. When her classmates’ curiosity got the best of them, they sent a
representative to ask her about her relationship with Leo. “Anya, what’s your relationship with Leo?”
Anya replied, “He’s my Little Leo.” Her answer was as good as saying nothing.
With her current status in the classroom, even if someone didn’t like her, they wouldn’t dare to offend. If
she didn’t want to answer, no one would be bold enough to ask again.
After Leo had publicly acknowledged Anya’s privileged status, who would dare to cross the sole heiress
of the Calder Corporation?
There were rumors that Leo had even allowed Anya to vent her anger by throwing water during a
confrontation. He threatened those who dared to lay a hand on Anya, promising to expel them.
Everyone knew better than to offend her. Stay away, and you wouldn’t have to worry about causing
trouble. This was one of the reasons Anya didn’t have friends in the classroom.
In the hospital.
After class, Molly didn’t wait for her brother to pick her up. She took a taxi to the hospital. Once there,
she headed straight to the 13th floor. She located the nurses’ station and asked, “Hello, a new patient
was admitted today, Coleen. Which room is she in?”
The nurse referred to her computer. “Ah, the unconscious patient. She’s in bed 032.”
“Unconscious?” Molly was taken aback.
Her brother had only told her that their mother was unwell and staying in the hospital. She needed
Molly to keep her company. He hadn’t mentioned that their mother was unconscious.
The nurse nodded, “She was transferred from the emergency center.”
Molly’s heart raced as she searched for her mother’s room.
During class, Chad had called her, and his tone was serious. “Molly, are you in class now?”
Molly replied in a low voice, “Yes, I have a class, but I’ll be free after that. What’s up, Chad?”
Chad was silent for a moment before saying, “Could you go to the hospital after class? Mom’s not
feeling well, and she’s in the hospital. I’m out and can’t make it.”
He didn’t say anything more before hanging up. Molly guessed that Chad didn’t want to alarm her,
which was why he hadn’t provided more details.
She found the room and entered without knocking. Her mother was lying on the bed. Her father was
standing by the bed talking to the doctor, and one of her mother’s secretaries was also present.
Seeing Molly, the doctor asked, “And this is?”
Kendrick answered, “My daughter.”
Cancer?
Molly was shocked. She looked at her mother lying on the bed, then back at the doctor. “Doctor, what
illness does my mom have? Why has it escalated to cancer?”
Molly frowned, staring at her mother on the bed. Her eyes were filled with tears.
Kendrick seemed to have been prepared for this. He didn’t react as strongly as his daughter. “Alright, C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.
thank you, doctor.”
After the doctor left, Molly sat by her mother’s bed, looking worried. “Dad, what’s going on? Mom was
fine. I know hyperplasia is common in women, but how did it turn into cancer?”
Kendrick replied, “Don’t be scared, Molly. We haven’t done the tests yet. It might not be cancer. Maybe
your mom just fainted from exhaustion.”
The secretary also hurriedly comforted Molly, telling her not to overthink. Reаd at Dramanovеls.com
Half an hour later, Coleen gradually woke up from her bed.
Terrified, Molly had climbed onto her mother, sobbing, “Mom, you scared me to death.”
Coming to her senses in a hospital, Coleen barely had time to recall what had happened when she
heard her daughter crying. Her immediate instinct was to comfort Molly.
It was only when illness struck the family that Molly truly understood the heart-wrenching worry that
came with it.
Despite her tears, Molly didn’t neglect her duties. She managed to find a wheelchair and, with an IV
stand in tow, she and her father wheeled her mother to the ultrasound room for a check-up.
Throughout the afternoon, the three of them raced around various examination rooms in the hospital.
Chad, unable to contain his worry, managed to sneak away for half an hour during dinner time to visit
his mother in the hospital.
