Chapter 739
"Hey! You got it! When the time comes, I'll slip my little niece a fat Christmas bonus!"
"I'll hold onto it for my princess!"
"Pfft, how do you know it's a girl? What if it's a little prince?"
"A boy would be fine, but my gut tells me it's going to be a sweet little princess, just like Emily."
Gracie rolled her eyes and said, "And what if she looks like me and isn't sweet at all?"
"If she looks like you, I'll cherish her even more."
The group was deep in lively banter, completely ignoring Yolanda.
Yolanda's face was struggling to hide her irritation. Stiff-faced, she said, "Gracie. I came to see how you were doing. Since you seem fine, I'll be on my way."
Sebastian remarked coolly, "Yolanda, didn't you come to apologize?"
"Fine. I was wrong to argue with you that night at the club, and I apologize for it."
Sebastian let out a dry laugh. "Is that all?"
Yolanda's face paled as she added, "I had nothing to do with Gracie's accident."
Gracie and Maximus, along with everyone else, had been startled by Sebastian's sudden appearance.
Now they understood why Sebastian had come: to make Yolanda apologize to Gracie. Gracie was surprisingly getting a privileged treatment and even she was taken aback by it.
She looked at Sebastian and asked, "President Ingram. Has the matter been cleared up?"
"It's almost certain. There was a similar incident involving an actress before, and it's been confirmed that she was behind it. The details of this accident and the previous one are nearly identical, it's the same perpetrator." Martin had people ask the actress involved in the other accident. She had attempted suicide multiple times but was always saved by her family.
Her life was in shambles now.
She had starred in a play produced by Mr. Finnegan, even as a supporting actress, she had a promising future.
But the accident ruined her entire life.
She remembered the day of the accident clearly.
It was the same as what they knew from Gracie: a hit-and-run by a large truck.
If it wasn't for Maximus protecting her, who knows how bad it would have been.
The child she was carrying might have not survived the hit.
Yolanda's face turned a shade paler, "It really wasn't me."
But her tone lacked conviction.
Gracie's expression became more intriguing.
"I trust President Ingram."
"Gracie, listen to me. It really wasn't me."
Stephanie couldn't help but
intervene "You seem determined to deny it to the bitter end! Silver Fox has had it investigated thoroughly, your explanations are pointless now! Right, Silver Fox?"
Sebastian chuckled, "Yes, that's right."
"So Silver Fox, if she won't admit it, what should we do?"
"Leave it to the police. She won't have a choice but to admit it then."
At the mention of the police, Yolanda seemed less afraid, frowning, "This is defamation! If you want to involve the police, then let them handle I've done nothing wrong and I have nothing to fear! But President Ingram, this kind of bullying is not very noble, is it? It wouldn't sound good if word got out."
Sebastian Sneered, "I'm using my influence to bully those who b Stephanie. What, you have a
