Chapter 60 – Pre-Wedding Fight
Lyken felt his body stiffen when he heard what Jada said. Instead of explaining herself and apologizing for what she did, she asked him to leave. 'She's unbelievable!'
Jada quietly stood up, faced her closet, and pulled out a pair of pajamas. She started taking her clothes, one by one. She even ripped the fishnet off her body.
She stopped her from what she was doing, holding both her wrists down. "What's wrong with you?" Lyken sneered.
She looked straight into his eyes, and Lyken wanted to back down. He saw how cold she was looking at him. 'What's happening to her?'
"What else do you want me to do? I was considering quitting my career after marrying you because you said you don't like it when I go out there, dressed up with almost nothing, and other men see me. I allow you to choose my outfit so we won't argue about anything. Now, what else do you want?" she screamed, tears starting to flow down her cheeks.
Lyken heard movements from behind him, it was Honey and the pinks, but he ignored them. It was between him and Jada, anyway.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
"I never asked anything from you, Ly. I never demand your time. I never ask you to change anything, but why are you doing this to me?"
"Jada, what's wrong with what I'm doing? Was it wrong for me to protect you? Didn't you see how those men were looking at you earlier? They're about ready to devour you! Should I just ignore that?"
"Who cares? Who cares how they look at me?" she yelled. "No matter how they look, they won't get it. Why are you so worried over nothing? You're being overprotective that you're suffocating me! You're being too controlling!" Lyken took a step back after hearing everything. 'I was too controlling? So for her, protecting her was controlling?'
"If you can't take me for who I am, then maybe you should rethink marrying me, Lyken Fontanilla!" Jada sniffed as she wiped away the tears.
He sat on Jada's bed while staring at his hands. "Just because I called you off for what you're wearing, you suddenly want me to rethink our wedding? Over some dress? Really?"
"Yes! Over some dress! I never thought you'd hurt me over some dress! You humiliated me in front of everyone over some dress! You pulled me out of the dancefloor, without thinking if what you did would hurt me, over some dress! You pushed me down the couch over some dress! You did all that over some dress!"
Lyken slowly nodded as he let out a harsh sigh. "Alright, I'm sorry," then he stood up and stormed out of her room.
'Maybe she was right. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I overreact over some dress. Maybe I was being too controlling, and it's suffocating her.'
He decided to leave to let her cool down. Lyken was surprised when she suggested that she rethink marrying her. She might say something worse if he tries to push things, so he would just leave for now.

'There' no maybes and what if's when it comes to us. No maybes when I proposed to Jada. None when I decided to marry her.'
Jada was speechless when Lyken left. She suddenly recalled his reaction when she removed her mask. He looked at her for a couple of seconds and seemed to have realized something. Then he pulled her to the back room. Jada thought her wrist would detach from her arm.
Lyken even pushed her down the couch, and her waist hit the wooden backrest. It triggered Jada, and she almost punched him hard.
Good thing the confrontation didn't prolong at the club, or it would have been worse. When they got home, Lyken got started again.
Jada's been trying to calm down. But every word that comes out of his mouth provokes her. When Lyken said she was looking for attention, that drew the last straw.
When Lyken left, Honey, Ada, and Bambi approached her. Honey sat beside Jada on the bed, squeezing her shoulder lightly as she began sobbing.
"Ja, you should rest. Everything must have been stressful for both of you. Give yourselves a break," Honey suggested.
"I don't understand him, Hon. He wasn't like this before, and you guys know that. He might call me off over the clothes I wear at times, but it won't come to a point where he'll get physical," She told her between sniffs.

"Byotch, maybe the two of you should talk about this when you're both calm and sober," Bambi chimed in.
Jada nodded at him. She stood up to pick up the pajamas that fell on the floor. "I'll get changed and sleep," she told them. Her friends nodded in unison before leaving her room, one after the other.
As soon as she got changed, she plopped on her bed and started crying again. Jada doesn't know if she's just being too emotional or if she was really hurt by what Lyken did earlier.
She didn't expect Lyken would react like that. Although she knows he doesn't want other men to see her in such clothing. However, it was dark on the floor, much more where he was seated. Jada was sure no one noticed something as they were all busy with the other two girls. He was just being paranoid.
Jada recalls everything she said earlier, and she wanted to regret it. Then again, she wants him to realize they can't go on like that.
They can't keep arguing over petty things, especially after they get married. That won't be ideal. Jada wouldn't want them engaging in arguments all the time.
And Jada hopes he will realize where he's wrong too. As they said, it takes two to tango. She wouldn't have argued with him if he didn't get her started. It was a cause-and-effect kind of thing. Drowned in thoughts and tears, she let sleep carry her away. As she did, she was hopeful that tomorrow would be an entirely new day for the two of them. Yes, she was hopeful.
