Chapter 75
Chapter 75 Car Accident Shock
“Gwen, please drive!” Ryan urged.
Gwen slammed her foot on the gas, and the sleek silver car shot out of sight, leaving the crowd behind.
As they sped down the road, Ryan scrolled through the trending topics on his phone, occasionally shoving the screen toward Gwen.
“Look, some people are saying you’re my childhood sweetheart.”
“And this one says that we met in Marendia and fell madly in love, like a spark to a flame.”
“This one’s even more ridiculous–they’re claiming you were a child bride bought by my mom.” Gwen shook her head, speechless. “People on the internet have such wild imaginations.”
“And then there’s more…” Ryan said.
“More of what?” Gwen asked.
“Well, some are insulting you,” Ryan replied.
Gwen shot him a mock glare. “You’re cruising for a bruising!”
The car sped smoothly under the night sky, but suddenly, a dump truck unexpectedly veered into their lane, heading straight for their car. It was coming too fast with no intention of stopping.
Realizing the danger, Gwen yanked the steering wheel and tried to swerve out of the way, but it was too late.
A blinding flash of white light filled her vision. Her entire body tensed, and fear gripped her like never before as the truck collided violently with the car.
The force of the crash triggered the airbags, slamming Gwen’s head back against the seat. She lost control of the vehicle and was trapped between the airbags and the seat, unable to move.
The front of the car crumpled and smashed inward from the impact, leaving the vehicle stranded in the middle of the road. The dump truck reversed briefly, then rammed into them again before speeding into the night.
It was an attempted murder.
The entertainment reporters trailing behind didn’t dare approach too closely. They feared a possible gas leak could cause an explosion and put them in danger.
A few who remained level–headed fumbled with shaking hands to dial for an ambulance.
Dust swirled in the dim light, and a man stepped out of a Bentley that had just pulled up. His sharp features were etched with worry as he sprinted toward the wrecked car, his tall figure unmistakable against the night.
The reporters clicked the cameras frantically while looking closely. “Wait, doesn’t this person look familiar?
“William Strand!”
“The CEO of Elba Group!”
Warm blood trickled down the back of Gwen’s neck, and the sharp scent of gasoline filled her nostrils. Someone seemed to be calling her name. “Gwen!”

Who was it?
The world around her grew eerily silent. The only thing cutting through the quiet was that desperate voice calling out of her.
Gwen’s eyelids felt heavier by the second.
William’s tall silhouette became clearer through the glaring lights, like a savior descending from the night. He ran straight to the car without hesitation. Flinging the door open, he scooped her up in his arms. Gwen nestled into William’s chest. The steady rhythm of his heartbeat soothed some of the pain through her body.
“Save. Ryan… Gwen whispered with the last of her strength.

“He’s fine, don’t worry.” William carefully avoided her injuries. His calm and steady voice had a way of making everything feel more bearable.
Gwen’s eyelids grew too heavy to keep open, and she slipped into unconsciousness.
William rushed his siblings to the hospital. Ryan only had a fractured wrist, but Gwen…
He glanced at the glowing sign above the emergency room door, a knot of unease tightening in his chest. Moments later, a doctor emerged with a tense look. “She’s lost a lot of blood. We need to carry out a transfusion immediately, but the hospital’s blood supply is critically low,”
Just as William was about to respond, Jake appeared around the corner. His voice was steady despite the urgency. “Please use my blood. I’m O–negative.”
Jake had been drinking in frustration when Cedar saw the news and alerted him.
The doctor wiped the sweat from his brows as he knew every second counted. “She has a rare blood type -RH–negative. Ordinary blood won’t work for her.”
Jake froze. “Then, what do we do?” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
The doctor was more frustrated than Jake. “How could you not know about her rare blood type? And I can smell alcohol on you! Even if you had the right type of blood, you couldn’t donate right now!”
For once, Jake became speechless. Something as simple as Gwen’s blood type had never crossed his mind.
“You didn’t even know Gwen has a rare blood type? Just how did you treat Gwen when you were married?” William lashed out with anger.
Jake hadn’t treated Gwen well at all. Divorce was the best thing that could’ve happened to Gwen.
While the doctor’s reprimand was expected, William’s additional criticism only fueled Jake’s frustration. Jake’s patience was wearing thin. He turned and locked eyes with William beside him, their hostility for each other unmistakable.
Jake recognized William as the CEO of Elba Group.
“What’s it to you? You seem more worried about my ex–wife than I am.” Jake’s tone was dripping with
sarcasm.
“You’re already divorced, and Gwen’s future affairs are all related to me!” William’s anger threatened to boil over, but now wasn’t the time to do that. Saving Gwen was all that mattered.
William pulled out his phone and quickly made a call. “Please notify the blood donors we have on

standby. Get them to the hospital immediately.”
He paused for a second. Wait… Call in the other group of backup donors as well. I’m not sure if one round. will be enough.”
