Shattered Vows Shining Comeback

Chapter 68

Chapter 68 Not So Annoying

Theodore, unlike his usual carefree self, smiled gently. “Looks like you don’t need this handkerchief after.

all.”

Gwen kept a straight face. “Of course not. I didn’t cry.”

“I thought you might be having a moment like last time, so I brought two, just in case.” Theodore pulled out another handkerchief, a teasing smile in his eyes. “What do you think? Thoughtful, right?”

Gwen recalled that night on the rooftop of Dornwick, where she had shed tears in front of her “enemy“. A rare trace of awkwardness flickered across her face. “I didn’t. You must be remembering wrong.”

Theodore didn’t argue and just nodded. “Yeah, I must’ve remembered wrong.”

He looked at Gwen’s unhappy expression, guessing that the tears back then were probably because of Jake.

“Want me to punch him?” Theodore’s tone turned unexpectedly serious as he made a mock fist, ready to take action. “Just say the word.

“That’s your buddy. It’s surprising you’re not already on his side.” Gwen shrugged, clearly skeptical.

Theodore pounded his chest dramatically, but the force caused him to cough a couple of times. “How could that be? I’m a knight of justice! No way I’d take his side just because he’s my friend!”

His gaze at Gwen was full of warmth, like a knight sworn to serve his queen in battle. Gwen’s beauty was a dangerous kind, but he was more than willing to surrender to it.

Theodore’s overly serious demeanor was so absurd that Gwen couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“You’re full of it.”

“As long as you enjoy listening.” Theodore replied smoothly, stepping closer to stand beside her.

“You’re such a smooth talker, Gwen continued to tease Theodore, but this time, there was a smile in her

eyes.

Compared to Jake, this guy, who was standing by her side today, was a hundred times better. She looked up at his charming eyes and thought that maybe he was not so annoying, after all.

“Seriously, can you give me a break for the things I did to offend you in the past?” Theodore asked, his body straightening a bit. There was a hint of nervousness in his tone. “I was shallow before, but I promise to change in the future!”

He realized he had unwittingly hurt such a wonderful woman. One had to take responsibility for one’s mistakes, and he was an honest man who would admit his wrongs. He wouldn’t be stubborn like Jake.

Tve already forgotten about it,” Gwen said lightly, brushing her hair back from the wind. “Just don’t keep confessing your feelings to me every day.”

“Not happening Theodore insisted stubbornly, his tone resolute. “I absolutely won’t give up on pursuing you!

“You’re really annoying.” Gwen rolled her eyes, lifted her foot to leave, and waved her hand behind her

“Thanks again.”

“If Jake bothers you again, just call me. Remember!” Theodore shouted after her.

“How talkative.”

Gwen called the driver to pick her up and then returned to the Lawson residence.

Before bed, Xenia called. “Why did you leave early? Yara was asking about you.”

“The Halls came. I didn’t want to deal with them, so I left,” Gwen replied simply.

“I put Ocean’s Tears in the safety box.”

“Alright,” replied Gwen,

The necklace that cost a hundred million was completely off her radar. Xenia shook her head on the other end of the phone, confirming that Gwen was indeed wealthy.

“By the way, I’m going to Findley. Do you want me to pass on a message to Ryan?” Gwen began teasing Xenia again.

“Boring. I’m hanging up.”

The sound of the call disconnecting echoed, and Gwen covered her mouth with a laugh. She determined to get Ryan back to Bellmont so that the two of them could finally meet.

The next day, Gwen flew to Findley. This time, she went straight to Sofia’s villa.

“Gwen, I missed you so much!” As soon as Sofia saw Gwen, she eagerly pulled her into the living room.

I missed you too.” Gwen held onto Sofia’s hand tightly, resting her chin on Sofia’s shoulder. “Aunt Sofia, I miss your cooking.”

“Not a problem! If you want to eat my food, I’ll arrange it right away.” Sofia turned her face to look at Gwen, who was being affectionate on her shoulder, and her feelings of tenderness deepened. She pretended to be angry, asking. “Why didn’t you come to see me sooner if you missed me so much?”
