Reborn As The 47
Chapter 47 0074%0
Eleanor couldn't help herself after hearing Janet. A small chuckle then escaped Eleanor's lips.
Janet, having been Gloria's best friend for years, clearly knew her weak spots. With just a few words, she hit Gloria where it hurt the most.
As expected, Gloria's face instantly turned pale. "Why did..."
But she couldn't say much in response since Janet's words were true-she was indeed adopted.
Seeing Glo Gloria so furious made Janet feel much better. The frustration she had felt after being backstabbed by Gloria finally began to lift. "Gloria, I suggest you start acting smarter. Eleanor may be generous enough to let it slide, but I'm not. If I catch you being all fake and snide again, don't blame me for being ruthless." Gloria was trembling with rage, her face twisted in anger. Her teeth clenched so hard it looked like she was ready to leap forward and tear someone apart.
Gloria
now.
I knew Jane
well enough. Janet would protect those she cared about with everything she had, but for those she looked down on, she would make their embarrassing moments public. That was exactly why Gloria had chosen to use Janet as a pawn before. Just like Janet was shamelessly humiliating her in front of everyone, without a care for her own dignity. 'Stay calm! You have to stay calm!' Gloria thought. 'Whether it's Eleanor or Janet, starting a fight with them now would only put me at a disadvantage. I'm no good at confrontations anyway. I've worked so hard to make Andrew and Felix believe in my fragile, innocent persona. I can't I I can't lose that now.'
With that thought in mind, Gloria took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the hatred bubbling inside her. Her eyes reddened, and it looked like she was about to cry at any moment, as if she'd been wronged beyond belief. She turned to Felix, her voice trembling as she asked, "Felix, did I say something wrong? Why are Eleanor and the others treating me like this?" Janet nearly gagged at the display, rubbing her arms to get rid of the goosebumps. She leaned over to Eleanor. "I had no idea she was this disgusting. I'm so sorry you had to deal with her before." Eleanor raised a

her tone eyebrow, her
indifferent.
"You'll get used to i
it." After all, the first time she dealt with Gloria, she almost couldn't hold back her disgust.
Meanwhile, Felix, who was standing next to Gloria, also had a grim expression. After hearing her complaint, he simply responded with a quiet "Mm" but didn't defend her like he usually would. Instead, he calmly said, "Go back to class. It's time for lessons." It felt like she'd punched a cloud, her disbelief written all over her face. "Felix
Janet doubled over, laughing so hard that tears welled up in her eyes. "You put on this whole act, but even your own brother can't stand it. Gloria, your game is weak!" Gloria could clearly tell that Janet's snide remark was a direct jab at her act of innocence. What hurt even more was that Felix wasn't stepping in to help her this time.
Gloria clenched her fists, her neatly trimmed nails digging painfully into her skin. The brief sting snapped her back to her senses a little.
She thought, 'I can't leave now. If I walk away like this, people will think I'm running off with my tail between my legs. I'd be a joke! No... I have to figure something out. I need to turn this situation around.'
Gloria turned her head and met Liam's gaze by the window. He was propping his chin up with his hand, his eyes clouded and unreadable. Her eyes lit up instantly.

She reflected. 'Right. How could I forget about him? Liam likes me. As long as I ask him for help, show a little vulnerability, he'll definitely take my side and speak up for me!'
With that plan in mind, Gloria quickly made her way over to Liam's window, lightly biting her red lip as she spoke in a soft, delicate voice. "Mr. Lloyd, you trust me, don't you?"
She mused, 'As long as Liam believes me, no matter how much everyone else wants to watch me fail, they'll have to think twice about the fact that he's the second heir of the Lloyd family
So what if Janet and Eleanor stick together? So what if they openly oppose me? As long as Liam likes me, I can still bask in the glory of being "the girl Mr. Lloyd favors".
At that moment, Liam was utterly dumbfounded, wondering how on earth he had ended up caught in the middle of this drama.
Suddenly, he felt like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. Seeing Gloria's face so close to his, he was so startled he almost jumped out of his seat. "Trust you? Trust you with what? Get away from my window already!"
Gloria was utterly stunned. She couldn't believe things were going so differently from what she'd imagined.
She said, "Mr. Lloyd, it's me, Gloria. I'm the one you always brought Caramel Macchiatos to. You like me, don't you remember?
Liam couldn't sit still any longer. He shot to his feet, pointing at Gloria with a trembling hand. "How dare you spread rumors and slander me? Do you think I won't take you to court? Don't forget. I have relative works at the courthouse as a clerk!"
After blurting that out all in one breath, he rushed over to Eleanor, eager to show his loyalty. "Boss, you've got to believe me! I'm your guy, no matter what happens. No way would I ever betray you. She's just jealous of how close we are and made up all this nonsense about me! You've got to believe me, boss!"
Eleanor, covering her ears that had started ringing from Liam's outburst, snapped, "Shut up!"
Liam froze. "Oh... Okay."
Their conversation had been loud enough that not only were their classmates in the classroom watching the drama unfold, but even several students passing by in the hallway had started sneaking glances. Seeing the scene play out, everyone began whispering to each other.
"I used to think Mr. Lloyd liked Gloria," one student murmured. "He always brought her Caramel Macchiatos. Guess it wasn't true after all."
"Mr. Lloyd is so handsome. No way he'd be into Gloria," another added. "I always figured it was just a rumor."
"Yeah, and even though Mr. Lloyd has an older brother, he's still a legit heir to a rich family," someone else chimed in. "Gloria's just an adopted daughter. No way she's in his league."
Another nodded in agreement. "That's right. That's right...".
The gossip grew louder, and Gloria's face grew paler. Angrily, she thought, 'It's definitely Eleanor. It has to be her! She must've badmouthed me to Mr. Lloyd, and that's why he's treating me like this. That bitch!"
Unwilling to back down, she took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Lloyd, you bought me Caramel Macchiatos before. The whole class knows about it. That can't be fake, right?"
At the mention of the Caramel Macchiatos, Liam thought long and hard, and then suddenly remembered. "Oh, yeah. I think remember that."
Hearing him say that, Gloria sighed in relief and even broke into a smile. But the next thing he said wiped that smile clean off her face.
