Please Come Back, Honey!

Chapter 162

Chapter 162

"Emma." Trevor crouched down in front of the lady, his face written with remorse and guilt. "I have to admit that those nasty things I said to you back then were totally unforgivable, but now that I understand you better, I'm trying to get rid of the prejudice I used to have toward you. Look, I don't deny that I made a mistake in the past, which is why I'm asking for a chance to make it up to you. I'm going to start by treating you well, but I don't know what I should do to make myself understood because you won't respond to me at all." Trevor recalled the insecurity and anxiety that were gnawing at him because he didn't know what was happening in the house, as Emma wouldn't let him in. At that moment, he felt a strong sense of despair and disappointment to see how he was not needed by Emma.

Emma, who was initially crying, wiped her tears when she heard his words. She then looked him in the eye mockingly and said, "You're still so selfish, Trevor. All you ever care about is your goddamn feelings. When have you ever spared a thought for those around you?" Trevor was stunned upon hearing Emma's words because he didn't expect the lady to accuse him of being selfish in return after he opened up to her sincerely. In the meantime, Emma seemingly saw through him and looked away, replying, "I'm now seeing Wesley, yet you're asking me for a chance to treat me well? What am I to you? Do you know you could put me in a difficult position in which I could be misunderstood as a two- timer by doing that? Are you really trying to protect me? Or are you thinking of destroying my life?"

Meanwhile, Trevor was left tongue-tied by Emma's response. Deep down, he had completely forgotten about the fact that she became an item with Wesley until she brought it up again. However, his instinct was telling him that they were not a couple, no matter how hard he convinced himself to embrace the truth. Why would I feel that way? Is it because of my subconscious refusal to accept the truth, or is it because they don't look like a couple at all? But honestly, they surely don't look like a couple, do they?

When that thought flashed Trevor's mind, he rose to his feet with Emma, seizing her arms before he pinned her on the wall. Then, he pinched her chin and squinted, staring at her in a commanding manner. "Are you really dating Wesley? Or is that just for show?"

Emma was surprised by Trevor's attitude, wondering why he would ask that question so directly. I didn't give myself away, did I? At the same time, Trevor grew increasingly anxious as he noticed her fishy look. "Answer me!"

Upon snapping out of her trance, Emma looked away from the man's eyes and tried to play it cool. "Of course, it's true. Why would you think this is just for show?"

Piqued by Emma's unpleasant reaction, Trevor had a feeling that she was lying to him despite her stubborn insistence about the authenticity of her relationship with Wesley. The next moment, Trevor's anger and poignancy took over his mind as he looked down and planted her lips on the lady's lips. As soon as he felt her soft lips, he was instantly reminded of the sweet moments they once shared together. Therefore, he went on to cup Emma's face and indulge himself in their kiss despite the lady's resistance.

On the other hand, Emma was stupefied when Trevor kissed her lips at first, not expecting his outrageous and sudden reaction. Nevertheless, as soon as she made sense of what was going on, she immediately bit the man's lip, inflicting pain on the latter and causing him to ease up on her a bit. However, the man showed no signs of letting her go as he continued to hold her tightly with his lips on hers, filling the atmosphere with an ambiguous vibe. Soon, when Emma's struggle failed to free herself from Trevor's grasp, she cursed the man in frustration. "Darn you, Trevor! You're such a douchebag!"

Meanwhile, Trevor was taken over by his obsession with Emma as he continued to pinch her chin in

spite of her scolding. He then placed his fingertip on her lips and asked, "Have you ever shared a kiss like that with Wesley?" When Emma didn't respond, he pressed on with his advance and gently nibbled her lips before he asked again, "Have you guys ever done anything like this?" Trevor's aggressiveness soon reduced Emma to tears, causing her to struggle with speaking. However, Trevor's eyes darkened when he saw that, at which point he leaned closer and whispered in her ear. "Don't push your luck, Emma, or this is going to get ugly." As soon as he finished his words, he pinned her head on the wall and continued to kiss her lips.

I mustn't push him any further, or he is going to get really mad. By then, he'll do something a lot worse to me than just kissing me. At the thought of that, Emma angrily thumped the man and pinched him in an attempt to express her frustration and helplessness because there was nothing she could do, although Trevor was clearly taking advantage of her by bullying and threatening her. A few moments later, their intimate moment was interrupted by the ringtone of Emma's phone just as she found herself in a disheveled state. Just in the nick of time, or I don't know how much longer Trevor is going to keep this going. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

With a darkened look on his face, Trevor gritted his teeth and said, "Emma, you'd better not lie to me about your relationship with Wesley, or I swear I'm going to make you pay for that."

Panicky and frustrated, Emma shoved Trevor away and grabbed her cell phone, whereupon she rushed to her bedroom and immediately locked the door behind her. When she realized the call was from Wilson, she quickly forgot about Trevor on the outside and took a deep breath to calm herself down before answering the phone call. Soon, she heard Wilson's caring voice from the other side of the phone. "Is the Bateson couple gone?" Having little respect for Jared and Alice, Wilson referred to them as the Bateson couple without bothering to address them specifically.

"Yes, they are. They left as soon as I hung up the call. It looks like they know they shouldn't mess with

the Youngs," Emma answered honestly. Despite Alice's insult just before she left, Emma understood that the former was merely just expressing her helplessness and frustration. After all, Alice was irked by the fact she was no match for the Young Family's power, knowing it'd be unwise to rub them the wrong way.

"I'm glad to hear that." Wilson added, "By the way, I've already told my people to look into your lawsuit with Arianna, so I doubt they have the guts to try anything silly at the moment."

As Emma expressed her gratitude to Wilson, the man replied, "There is no need to thank me since you're on the winning side because justice always prevails." He continued to say, "Trevor had always seemed like a nice guy to me until I realized he had a wicked sister and lousy parents. Therefore, I doubt he is a man with whom a lady should entrust her life because if he had really been a good man, you wouldn't have divorced him, would you?" Wilson expressed his dislike for Trevor, as he was influenced by the Bateson Family's notoriety.

Emma puckered her lips when she heard Wilson's words, wanting to say something in Trevor's defense, only to swallow the words that were forming at the tip of her tongue when she thought about his outrageous behavior a few moments ago. Fine, I guess it's better to let Wilson hate him this way. A shameless man like him should be hated by everyone who knows him. Despite the thought of that, Emma knew that Trevor was not a bad person like Wilson deemed him to be. After all, he only treated her the way he did because he didn't love her back then, but as things appeared to have changed, he seemed to be more sensible now, unlike his parents, Jared and Alice, who had no qualms crossing the line.

In the meantime, Wilson asked another question about Trevor since they were talking about him. "By the way, what is his stance about your intention to press the charge against his sister?"

"Well, he thinks I should take the necessary legal actions…" Emma answered frankly.

"Okay, so he chooses justice over his family. I'm surprised to hear that," Wilson responded unhappily. He then changed the subject and expressed his sentimental side to Emma. "By the way, I wish you could know how happy I am for you to be my goddaughter. I thought I would scare you when I first brought that up, so when you told me you agreed with my suggestion, I felt over the moon. Emma, you are a part of the Young Family from now on." Touched by Wilson's last sentence, Emma failed to fight back her tears as she let them roll down her cheeks.
