Chapter 74
Chapter 74 Interested In Her
"Jackson, who chases girls like this?"
The door to the private room opened once again, and Allen Parker walked in under the guidance of the waiter.
A hint of unknown meaning lingered at the corner of his mouth as he glanced at Emily, finally settling on Olivia.
But Jackson was instantly ignited with anger. "Bro, what are you doing here?"
"Can't I come?" Allen Parker withdrew his gaze and asked Emily, "Emily, can I sit here?"
He was referring to the space between Emily and Olivia.
"Of course!" Emily felt like a drowning person finally grabbing hold of driftwood, letting out a heavy sigh of relief.
Olivia moved her chair to the side, making room for Allen Parker.
Allen Parker's gaze seemed to casually land on her, then quickly shifted away. "Thank you, Miss Taylor."
"This is perfect, haha!"
"Miss Taylor, do you know me?"
Olivia laughed, "How could I not know you? You're the godfather of the entertainment industry. Your company has so many famous actors and models, and of course, my husband is also in your company, haha!" Allen Parker furrowed his brows. "You're married?"
"Well... I unilaterally declared that I'm married, but he doesn't even know who I am."
"Sorry, I don't quite understand."
Olivia shrugged, "What's there not to understand? That actor from your company, Lucas. I'm his fan! We all call ourselves his wives. So, of course, I have to call him my husband."
Allen Parker suddenly chuckled, "So, when you said you're married, you meant that?"
"Of course!" Olivia puffed her cheeks. "I'm still so young. Why would I step into the grave of marriage? Now, every morning I wake up and look at my husband's photo, I feel happy every day!" "Nonsense!" Mr. Taylor scolded lightly, furrowing his brows. "You dare to say that! You don't work every day, but instead call a stranger your husband. Starting tomorrow, you'll intern at my company!" Olivia was surprised. "Can I not go? I don't like work related to real estate, and I don't understand it."
"Then you'll learn! Let me tell you, Olivia, you must work."
Olivia pouted like a small pufferfish.
But Allen Parker laughed heartily. "How long have you liked Lucas?"
At the mention of Lucas, Olivia immediately perked up. "Five years! Since he signed with you, I've liked him!"
"So you should know a lot about Lucas?"
"Of course, I even know what brand of shower gel he likes."
"Very well," Allen Parker smiled. "Since you want to work, why not do something you like and are good at? Lucas's agent recently changed jobs. Are you interested in interning as his agent at my company?" Olivia's eyes widened instantly. "Oh my God, is this real? Are you really letting me be Lucas's agent?"
Allen Parker nodded. "Are you coming?"
"I have to come!!!!" Olivia
immediately threw herself into Mr. Taylor's arms, shaking his arms, and coquettishly said, "Dad, I want to intern at Mr. Parker's company! Even if he doesn't pay me, I'll still go! I love working, I love working overtime, and I want to be a hardworking employee!"
Mr. Taylor frowned. "My little princess, stop it, my head is spinning."
"Oh," Olivia let go of him obediently, "Dad, did you agree to it?"
Mr. Taylor did not refuse.
He had just discovered something interesting. Allen Parker, this wealthy man, was actually interested in his daughter? Allen Parker and Jackson, these brothers were really interesting. They both took a liking to a pair of best friends.
But his daughter didn't know yet, and Emily's attitude of rejection was quite obvious.
For a moment, he was a little unclear about the purpose of this lunch.
Emily listened quietly on the side, but she was relieved.
With Allen Parker's arrival, the focus shifted away from herself.
After finishing the meal, Olivia took Emily's hand and walked ahead. "Emily, I'll take you home." Emily nodded.
But Allen Parker said, "Let me drive you two home. Jackson, you can take Mr. Taylor."
"Why?" Jackson was reluctant. "I still have something to tell Emily. You've disrupted my plans."
Allen Parker gave him a stern look. "Whatever you have to say, you can tell me later tonight." Olivia led Emily into Allen Parker's car.
Mr. Taylor smiled and said, "Jackson, thank you."
Watching Emily's figure disappear into Allen Parker's car, Jackson gritted his teeth in frustration. "It's fine."
Allen Parker first dropped Olivia off at the Taylor residence, then drove Emily to the Hilton hotel.
"Sorry for the trouble Jackson caused you. I'll talk to him about it," Allen Parker said.
Sitting in the backseat of the car, Emily softly responded, "Hmm... By the way, what do you want for dinner tonight? It's still early, I can go to the supermarket to buy some food you like"
Allen Parker gave a vague answer, "I'll just eat what we usually eat."All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Emily nodded. "I want to thank you for everything regarding my uncle's situation. Thanks to your careful consideration, you managed to find plasma from another hospital. If something had happened to Sophia, my uncle would probably be in jail. You've helped me and my family time and time again... I don't know how to repay you properly."
"Emily..." Allen Parker wanted to say something but swallowed the words forcefully. "Just take care of yourself. Oh, did you tell Jackson about the pregnancy?"
Emily shook her head. "I don't want to stir up any more trouble. Do you think I should tell him everything?"
"I don't think so," Allen Parker said. "I'll find an opportunity to talk to him."
"Okay, I'll follow your lead."
