No Bounds for the CEO’s Spoiling

Chapter 366: Dinner

Qin Muxuan saw that Gu Zijin had come out and she quickly stepped forward. “Gu Zijin, you’re out. Is everything alright?”

Hearing the undisguised concern in Qin Muxuan’s words, Gu Zijin felt his heart relax a lot. He shook his head and said, “It’s okay. Sorry to make you worried.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Muxuan’s face turned slightly red and she quickly retorted, “I’m not worried. You were talking with your father. What do I have to worry about?”

Seeing how badly Qin Muxuan wanted to deny it, Gu Zijin felt much better, but he didn’t continue the topic.

“Did you promise mom to stay for the night?”

Qin Muxuan nodded, “Mom wants to spend more time with Xiaoxin, and Xiaoxin also agrees to stay for one night.”

Gu Zijin raised an eyebrow when he heard Qin Muxuan saying “mom” very naturally, but it was undeniable that he was even happier.

Gu Zijin nodded and said “yes”.

Qin Muxuan was still worried about what Gu Zijin and Gu Heng talked about, but seeing that Gu Zijin looked like everything was alright, she didn’t think it was the right chance to ask him.

When it was dinner time, Ye Han asked everyone to sit down.

After Qin Muxuan sat down, she looked at the dishes in front of her. It was as if she was back to four years ago, even though life in the Gu Family back then was not easy. Though this feeling lasted only a few seconds, Qin Muxuan still felt the lively atmosphere that she and Xiaobai had never experienced here.

When Gu Heng came down, he was surprised to see that Gu Zijin was still there. He thought that he would leave after he said so.

Gu Heng sat down in the main seat and snorted, “Didn’t you say you would leave? So you’re so thick-skinned that you decided to stay and eat?”

Nanny Chen paused for a moment, thinking it super awkward, so she put the food down and left.

Ye Han cast a scolding glance at Gu Heng, “Our son came here with our grandson and granddaughter for dinner. Why did you say something like that? Do you even know how to talk? If you don’t know, then say less!”

Gu Heng snorted coldly but didn’t say anything cynical anymore.

Ye Han sat next to Xiaoxin and picked vegetables for her from time to time.

Gu Zijin frowned, “Mom, don’t give Xiaoxin so much food. She’ll have an upset stomach if she eats so much.”

Ye Han smiled awkwardly, “You’re right about it. I won’t do it again. It’s not good for children to eat too much.”

Gu Heng’s face turned cold when he heard this. “Is that the right way to talk to your mom?!”

Gu Zijin knew that Gu Heng was finding faults with him, so he didn’t reply.

Ye Han patted Gu Heng’s arm, “What are you being so harsh? The children are watching you. Why did you talk so much? Aren’t you supposed to be eating?”

Gu Heng still wanted to say something, but Xiaoxin spoke first, “Grandfather, don’t be angry. And don’t be so harsh on Papa. I’ll eat everything that grandma gave me, and I can eat a lot.”

When he heard the child’s soft voice, Gu Heng was no longer angry. He tied to look nice and amiable and put a piece of sweet and sour pork rib into Xiaoxin’s bowl. “Grandpa is not angry. Xiaoxin, if you like to eat, then eat more, but don’t force it. You like to eat sweet food, right? Eat this rib, huh?”

“Thank you, Grandfather,” Xiaoxin smiled sweetly before lowering her head and eating again.

Gu Zijin saw that the corner of Gu Heng’s mouth went a little further upwards when Gu Heng heard Xiaoxin’s calling him “grandfather” again. And Gu Zijin thought that his father was being so unfair to him!

Ye Han saw that a few minutes later, there was the ugly silence again, so she casually said to Qin Muxuan, “Xiao Xuan, you’re filming, right? How is it? Is it too much work?”

Just as Qin Muxuan was about to reply, Gu Heng sneered again and said in a sinister tone, “She’s just an actress. It’s not like it’s a proper job and people can’t earn lots of money from it.”

Everyone on the table all stopped their chopsticks except Gu Heng. Gu Zijin was just about to say something, but Xiaobai did it before he could, “Grandfather, are you still living in the last century? Now acting is a respected position. I’m also a minor actor! Besides, filming is not an easy task. I think you might not be able to do it well, but mommy is doing very well while filming with me.”

What his grandson said made Gu Heng felt that he lost face, “Xiaobai, just tell me how much money you can make in filming. Grandpa will give it to you immediately. Why do you have to go filming?”

“Grandfather, that’s my interest. I want to do it. So does mommy. Both of us are doing it because we like it. Besides, we can make a lot of money being an actor. Grandfather, don’t look down on an actor. If you look down on an actor, you look down on Xiaobai. If you look down on Xiaobai, you look down on yourself as you’re my grandfather,” Xiaobai retorted righteously.

Gu Heng was almost misled by his grandson’s strange logic and he couldn’t say a word for a long time.

All these years, it was rare for Ye Han to see her husband suffer, so she almost laughed out loud. However, she held it back and continued to ease the situation with a fake cough. “Alright, what are you arguing with a child? Hurry up and eat.”

Qin Muxuan was angry with Gu Heng. When she saw her son speaking up for her, she gave him a thumbs up.

After these two interludes, Ye Han was in no mood to talk, so there was only silence at the dinner table.

After dinner, Gu Heng went upstairs without ever looking at Gu Zijin and Qin Muxuan.

Seeing that Gu Heng had left, Ye Han smiled apologetically at Qin Muxuan. “Xiao Xuan, I hope you won’t mind. Zijin’s father is like this. He’s very stubborn. Don’t take it to heart.”

Qin Muxuan shook her head and said, “It’s okay.”

Then Qin Muxuan took Xiaoxin and Xiaobai, who had finished their meal, upstairs. Qin Muxuan looked strangely at Gu Zijin who was still eating. He usually didn’t eat so slowly. What was he so slow today?Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

However, Qin Muxuan didn’t think much about it. She only thought that Gu Zijin was happy or that he liked the food here.

Seeing them go upstairs, Gu Zijin immediately put down the bowl, “Mom.”

Ye Han looked at Gu Zijin with doubt, “What’s wrong?”

“Did Muxuan almost faint this afternoon?” Gu Zijin frowned.

“That’s right. I was talking to her, and her face suddenly turned pale. I was scared by it. But, she was alright after drinking some water. Xiao Xuan said that she had low blood sugar. Sigh, she had suffered so much in the past few years. She didn’t seem to suffer from that before.” Ye Han felt a little distressed.

Gu Zijin nodded and didn’t ask again.

Ye Han sighed and said in a sincere earnest way, “Zijin, I think Xiao Xuan is a good girl. If you still have feelings for her, then treat her better.”

Hearing that, Gu Zijin nodded, “Okay, I will.”
