Chapter86 Sob
Sob
Richard frowned. The moment Pearl raised her hand, he had already taken a step forward. However,
Adriana in his arms made him fail to stop Pearl.
In truth, he could not stop her even if Adriana wasn't in his arms.
Pearl's actions were too fast without any hesitation. Her decisiveness was still the same as ever.
After pouring cold water on herself, she left the restaurant without looking back. Even though she was
in a mess, she still walked straight and upright.
Richard hadn't expected her to do this. There were regret and pain flashing in his eyes.
He only wanted to anger her, to see her blaming him, and to see her flustered due to the situation she
was in. He even wanted to see her lower her head to him.
However, he was wrong.
After a long time, a woman's soft and timid voice came from her, "Richard, Pearl must have
misunderstood me. I really wanted to help her. But she probably did this due to our relationship. She
may have suspected me for having ulterior motives."
Richard went back to his senses.
"Well, don't you have any other motives?"
His cold words contained a sense of alienation. He then let Adriana go from his arms.
"You invited the both of us to the same restaurant. Is it some sort of coincidence?"
After leaving his broad and warm chest, Adriana suddenly got nervous, "Richard..."
"Adriana, I don't like women who pretend they are smart." After that, Richard left with a warn look.
Adriana stood on the spot. her elegant hair were splashed by Pearl and she looked terrible. She
clenched her fist, her fingernails pricking her palms.
Of course she knew that Richard wouldn't be fooled so easily. Her plan was full of loopholes. Anyone
with a brain would know that she was deliberately waiting for the perfect time for Richard to see the
scene just now.
But did that matter? Not at all.
Richard did't like women who were too smart. He let her be his girlfriend only because she was
obedient, didn't it? Even if she occasionally made a ruckus, everything she did had to be within his
control.
She wanted him to always be with her, so that she could always feel safe.
As for Richard, that was the biggest difference between Adriana and Pearl.
Dusk quietly fell. Business districts were filled with traffic as they usually were. Under the traffic lights
were the scene of cars upon cars.
Pearl's car was one of the many caught in the immense traffic. She played loud music inside her
car and crazy rock music was roaring in her ears.
She tried to forget about the reality with the insanely loud music.
When the lights turned green, she drove through the heavy traffic and drove towards the highway. She
stepped on the pedal and went way past the speed limit.
After a long while, when she finally left the highway, her arms felt numb, and her legs were also limp
and weak from stepping on the gas pedal.
She then called Ethan.
The phone rang, followed by a lazy male voice, "Yep?"
"Adriana has something to do with the accident seven years ago."
Her words woke Ethan up immediately. He bolted up from his bed. The woman lying next to him
muttered discontentedly and rubbed herself against him.
Ethan grabbed his cell phone and went straight to the balcony. The cold wind blew against his face,
and he was partially awake from his hangover. "Tell me the truth."
Although Pearl had tried to calm herself down, the panic she felt after her emotional breakdown could
still be heard through the phone. "Adriana has the video of the accident. She threatened that if I don't
leave Kityall, Bonny and Brandon won't be able to go to a school."
Pearl rarely panicked. When Ethan first met her, he could feel the courage and extraordinary calmness
from her. In the bar, she was the purest and most innocent amongst.
However, her children were her biggest weakness.
"Calm down." Ethan's voice was rarely low. "She can't do it. The Wood family is nothing in Kityall. It can
barely support itself even with the help of Zellweger Group."
"Ethan, I was thinking send Brandon and Bonny back to Maniville."
Pearl was only worried about her two children getting hurt.
Ethan frowned, staying silent for a while, "Pearl, if Adriana's motive was really to get you to leave Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Kityall, then as long as you are still there, she will still your children. You can't take your children back
to Maniville risk-free, unless you leave as well."
"But I won't leave."
The purpose of her returning home was to find out the truth about the accident seven years ago. She
did not want to live in the shadows of fear for the rest of her life.
There was no one else in this world who knew her better than Ethan did.
"So, Brandon and Bonny will only be completely free with you by their side. I will be back next week.
Don't worry."
There was no reply on the phone for a long time.
Ethan's face was full of worry. "Pearl?"
After a while, he finally heard an intermittent sob.
Hearing her sobs, Ethan finally heaved a sigh of relief and comforted, "Let it out. Cry to your heart's
content. Not a single person who engaged in that incident could escape."
If her enemies were hiding in the dark, they wouldn't be able to find out anything. But now, Adriana
would not be left unpunished.
The white Mini Cooper stopped by the side on a desolate road. It was very late.
She cried in the car for a long time. From the start of a suppressed sniff, to a burst of emotional tears,
she let out all the grief and unwillingness that had accumulated in her heart for seven whole years.
A black Mercedes car was quietly parked on a road far away from Pearl's car. It'd been following Pearl
at high speed all the way.
Across the car window, a man's dark eyes stared at the small white car, he looked at the woman in the
car who broke down and supported herself with the steering wheel.
