Chapter 70 Flirting with boys.
Chapter 70 Flirting with boys.
By nine o'clock, seats in the lecture room of No.1 Executive Building were already fully occupied. When
Pearl and Alex reached the building, a group of young students was standing at the entrance to keep
order. Judging from their body sizes and heights, they must be the sports students.
As soon as Alex arrived at the gate, he was called by a student there, "Mr. Lee, the head of our
department is looking for you now."
"Now?" asked Alex with Bonny still in his arms.
Pearl immediately got Bonny out of Alex's arms. "Alex, go to settle your matters first. It's going to be a
busy day today."
"Okay." Alex checked his watch and said, "I'll be back soon."
"Okay." Pearl nodded her head.
Pearl and Alex's lecture was arranged at 9:30. She could afford the 30-minute wait.
Before going to see the head of the department, Alex asked a junior to lead Pearl to have a rest at the
back stage.
With one child in each of her hands,Pearl attracted a lot of eyes all the way.
"My, my! Are they your children? Pearl. They're so adorable!"
Before Pearl could make a reply, Bonny tilted her head beside her to ask the boy, "Adorable? Who? Me
or my brother?"
The junior looked young and might be just a freshman. He was taken aback when he was shot by
Bonny's questions. He did not want to offend either child, so he gave an ambiguous answer to her,
"Both of you, of course, I mean you are both adorable."
"But boys don't like to be called adorable."
"Ah?" The junior was stunned at once. He then looked awkwardly at Brandon. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
"Don't mind her." Pearl tried to smooth things over. She rolled eyes at her daughter and explained,
"She's just talking nonsense. One more thing, this is my junior. Bonny, you have to address him
properly."
Bonny did not take Pearl's words seriously. She said confidently to the boy, "What a handsome uncle!"
After that, Bonny even winked at the boy.
Glancing at the boy, Pearl noticed that his face turned red. He was evdiently taken aback yet again.
Pearl immediately just wanted to dig a hole to hide from the ugly reality. What had she given birth to?
How could she be so good at flirting with boys at such a young age?
As soon as they arrived at the back stage, Pearl saw a familiar figure from a long distance. When she
finally realized who it was, she could not pretend to have not noticed him and walk away anymore.
"Pearl?" With a thesis in her hand, a lady was about to go onstage. But her eyes lit up as she saw
Pearl. She hastened her steps towards Pearl. The man behind her was stunned for a moment first, but
he then followed her to Pearl too.
The figures coming to her, Pearl forcibly pulled up the corners of her lips and muttered to greet them,
"Hello. Jeanette. Alexander."
Jeanette was Pearl's senior by one year. But she was from a different department, the foreign language
department. She was majoring in Portuguese.
During Pearl's first year here, she was dragged by a roommate to join the Public Relations Club (PR
Club). At the time, Jeanette's the vice president of the club.
Why did Pearl's roommate insist on joining the club? The reason was quite simple that
Alexander Miller, the hottest boy at the school, was the president of the club at the time. During the
start-of-term ceremony, his outstanding performance of singing the university anthem made many
juniors fall for him. So on the orientation day, the PR Club was so overwhelmed with new members that
the small table almost fell apart.
Pearl and her roommate failed to get even a single application form at that time. So they originally
thought to give up. But lucky to them, they happened to run into Alexander at the booth, who gave her
two forms directly. At that night, they received his text messages, informing them that they had been
enrolled into the club.
Speaking of this, hostility must grow at that time between Pearl and Jeanette.
"Long time no see, Pearl. You are still so charming like before." Jeanette's sudden flattering words
pulled Pearl back to reality. She still talked in a very fake manner like when she was the vice president
of the PR Club.
Pearl curled her lips and flattered, "Jeanette, you look even better than before."
"Oh, no, I'm not. I am a married woman now. Beautiful face doesn't mean anything to me now. Unlike
you. Even after having studied abroad for many years, you still looked exactly the way you did during
your university days. Someone must have mistaken you for a freshman here, right?"
Pearl was left speechless by Jeanette's endless praises. There were limits in such daily pleasantries.
But unfortunately, Jeanette knew nothing of the limitation.
Pearl could not answer Jeanette, so she changed the topic of their conversation, "Oh, Jeanette! I have
not asked you when you get married. I was totally clueless about that! Congratulations!"
"Just in last year." Jeanette raised her hand to comb her hair, revealing the shining diamond ring on her
finger. She noticed the children behind Pearl through the corners of her eyes, so she asked, "Are they
your kids? When did you get married? With Alex? Back then, you two were really a perfect match."
Pearl frowned but still answered her questions, "No, I did not get married with Alex. Please don't bring
up those old nonsense again."
"What nonsense? You and Alex were the hottest girl and boy back then. Countless hearts were broken
by you two when you decided to study abroad together! Am I right, Honey?"
The man standing behind Jeanette had been quiet all the time. His eyes had also been fixed on Pearl
ever since he saw her. It's evident from his eyes that he was reminiscing about the good days in the
past. So he did not respond to Jeanette even when he was called.
"Honey." Jeanette frowned to call him again.
This time Alexander came back to his senses and asked, "Yes? What're you saying?"
Jeanette looked displeased. Her tone then became a bit odd, "I said students from your medical
department were all heartbroken when you heard that Pearl and Alex were going to study abroad
together at that time. Am I right?"
The three individuals here were well aware of Jeanette's true underlying meaning.
It was not a secret that Alexander had liked Pearl before. When the department held an event, he
would take care of her each time. When the new semester came, even Pearl had always been absent
from their group activities, Alexander still tried to nominate Pearl as the new president, which angered
Jeanette, the vice president at that time, most.
It had been so many years, and normally no one should bring it up ever again.
But now Jeanette's words made Pearl feel really awkward, while Alexander's expressions was bad too.
It was evident that they didn't know what to say now.
"Pearl." Alex's voice coming to them in time, breaking the uncomfortable silence.
Alex rushed to Pearl. He then nodded towards Jeanette and Alexander as a greet and said, "Pearl, it's
time for our turn. We need go onstage now."
Pearl let out a long breath at heart and then smiled apologetically at Jeanette and Alexander. "Sorry,
please excuse me. I have to get on the stage with Alex now. Let's talk later."
Jeanette looked somewhat reluctant to just let her go, while Alexander really felt embarrassed to her.
His apologetic eyes even trailed after Pearl for a long way.
Pearl left the kids to a junior before leaving backstage. Then she joined Alex for their lecture.
The moment Pearl was out of her sight, Jeanette turned to Alexander to say in a strange tone, "What a
lovely reunion of your old lovers! Why didn't you say anything to her? Are you blaming me for being an
eyesore here? It's a pity that she already has two kids now. I would recommend you stop thinking about
her anymore."
"Are you done?" Alexander glared at Jeanette unhappily.
Jeanette wanted to argue more with him about Pearl. But she suddenly caught a glimpse of two kids,
and her imagination ran wild.
She hadn't heard Pearl had gotten married already. How could she have them?
