Chapter 62: Grand Wedding.
Chapter 62: Grand Wedding.
On the 21st of March—
It was the beginning of spring.
By now, the South City was in full bloom and as warm as a tropical sunset.
Girls obsessed with beauty couldn't wait to get changed into pretty dresses.
The whole of South City was full of joy.
And it was all because of Sam and Lillianna's grand wedding.
The Garrison family was said to have spent $500 million on this wedding!
That was right. How lavish.
Early in the morning, the Garrison house was surrounded by people.
Reporters mobbed the place.
One after the other, luxury cars arrived. Those exiting the vehicles were all top-tier celebrities.
Presidents of companies, as well as important figures from the South City, were escorted in.
Alvaro was swamped that day.
Theo's parents had come to help three days earlier, but even so, the scene was panicky.
Meanwhile, Sam stood by the window in his expensive suit in the room, deep in thought.
"Mr. Garrison, Miss Lacey has arrived in South City at five o'clock in the morning. She came in half an
hour ago!" Asa reported.
After leaving the Garrison house that night, Lacey disappeared from South City.
She sent him a message, however, before vanishing.
"Sam, will I be the one you marry on March 21?"
The message was quite intriguing.
Subsequently, he sent someone to look for her.
In fact, Lacey had not gone far. She had returned to Klosa.
After sending someone to keep an eye on her for a few days, Sam noticed Lacey's life was quite
routine. Every day, she went to an orphanage or an old folks' home.
She'd spent the remainder of her time either feeding stray animals or walking around the park.
If not, she would spend the whole day in a bookshop.
Her life did not seem to change much during the week.
Sam decided to withdraw his watch on her.
Nevertheless, he knew that what she said must mean something.
As a result, he requested that someone watch her during the wedding.
Sure enough, she did show up!
"Mr. Garrison, should we get someone to stop her?" Asa asked.
"How did she get in?" Sam didn't turn his head but looked out the window.
The wedding was heavily guarded, and no one was allowed in without an invitation card.
"Miss Sophia brought her in," replied Asa.
"Sophia—" Sam raised a sneer. He had never thought she was capable of convincing Sophia!
"Mr. Garrison, is there anything we need to do?" Asa went on to ask.
"No, I want to see what kind of tricks she can pull!" Straightening his tie, Sam then raised a smile and
walked out.
Meanwhile, on the third floor, in Sophia's room—
"Why did you want me to bring you in? What do you want to do?" Sophia asked, staring at Lacey.
She hadn't seen Lacey in two months. Somehow, she seemed prettier. Her hair slightly curled, and her
fringes added a touch of elegance to her appearance.
She wore a white T-shirt, a denim jacket, and a pair of black trousers.
Despite the plain style, she looked eye-catching anyway!
Lacey fiddled with her phone before looking up at Sophia and smiling. "Sophia, it's been two months
since we've seen each other. Did you miss me?"
Sophia was stunned. That smile—
"Who, who would miss you? Quit being so self-absorbed!" Sophia frowned. What was going on? The
twins clearly had the same face. When Lillianna smiled, it looked annoying. From NôvelDrama.Org.
Lacey, on the other hand, seemed to have glitter in her eyes when she smiled!
"Thank you for bringing me in. This wedding is so heavily guarded!" Lacey approached the window and
gazed out at the gathering.
Sophia raised an eyebrow and walked over. "What are you doing here today?"
Lacey didn't respond. She looked out at the crowd and then lifted her hand to check her watch.
"Hey, I'm asking you a question!" Lacey's indifference irritated Sophia.
Unlike Lacey, Lillianna had always tried to win her favor!
"Sophia!" Lacey suddenly turned sideways and called her name.
"Huh?" Sophia was startled by the sudden shout.
"How about I be your sister-in-law?" Lacey asked with a smile.
Sophia's mouth drops open in surprise.
By the time she came back to her senses, Lacey had already left the room.
It was very lively outside, and everyone's face was full of smiles.
Lacey dropped her profile and weaved through the crowd while wearing a hat.
She eventually arrived at the back of a pillar, where someone was already waiting.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" A man in glasses spoke up. He was a reporter, just starting in the
celebrity entertainment business.
Lacey looked at him and said sarcastically, "Are you afraid? I'll go to the other media then. I'm sure
they'll be more interested!"
"Wait!" The man stopped her. "Aren't you afraid of being eliminated?"
"Aren't I still alive?" She smiled, "Are you scared?"
"Me? Ha! From the moment I chose to be a reporter, there's nothing to be afraid of. I might even be
promoted after tonight!" The reporter smirked.
"Well, good luck to us!" Lacey held out her hand for a handshake.
"Lacey, you're a ruthless woman. But are you certain that this video will win him over?" The reporter
asked.
Lacey grinned. "How will I know if I don't try?"
"Interesting. My name is Rudy Horton. If I'm still alive after today, you may come to me in the future if
you're in trouble!" Rudy said as he pushed his glasses up.
"Okay!"
Following that, Lacey put her mask back on and turned to walk out.
Rudy immediately set about executing their plan.
The wedding took place on the Garrison family's huge golf lawn.
Several drones were in the air to capture the perfect memory of the wedding.
The green lawn had long been set up as a sea of blooms.
Every flower on site was flown in from Klard.
The venue also had an abundance of crystal decorations and much more.
In short, everything one could dream of at a wedding, all of it was there!
Of course, there was only one word in the summary. Wealth!
In addition to these exquisite decorations, a famous band played music on stage.
There were thousands of white chairs, each with a bouquet.
It was, almost, a trance-like feeling to sit in a sea of flowers.
Meanwhile, Lacey's face was devoid of expression. She found a corner and sat down. Looking at her
watch, it was almost time!
Gradually, the chairs around her were filled half an hour later.
Each woman wore expensive perfume, and their clothes were from big brands.
Lacey, meanwhile, was dressed casually. It was as if she belonged to a different world.
After a while, a handsome figure appeared.
All the women began to cheer.
Sam walked to the center of the stage.
Behind him was a group of ten attractive men, each wealthy or aristocratic.
Although the girls were heartbroken at the prospect of Sam's marriage, their hearts were somewhat
comforted at the sight of these handsome, fine men.
Lacey kept her head down, busy texting Rudy.
What she didn't know was that Sam's deep, cold gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on her as
soon as he spotted her. He lifted his lips slightly.
After a while, another loud cheer erupted in the distance.
The wedding music then began to play.
After Lacey had read the last message from Rudy, she finally looked back with her mask on.
Lillianna took Bailey's arm and walked toward the stage step by step, surrounded by many beautiful
bridesmaids.
"Woah—" Everyone was stunned at the sight of her. She looked gorgeous in her wedding dress!
Lillianna was overwhelmed with excitement. She took every step on the red carpet covered with pink
petals with her heart almost jumping out of her throat!
At last, she was going to marry him!
After this day, she would be Mrs. Garrison!
"Calm down!" Bailey's said lowly. Lillianna was holding his wrist very hard.
"I'm so nervous, Daddy!" Lillianna's voice trembled, and her eyes dared not look around.
Countless cameras snapped photos of her from every angle.
"Don't be nervous. After today, you'll be Mrs. Garrison!" Bailey's smile was the most noticeable.
Many of the Carter family's partners arrived on the scene. They were all currying favor with him.
The Carter family's status would subsequently be raised in the South City!
Thank God he didn't help raise someone else's daughter for nothing.
"Okay." Lillianna nodded and walked alongside him.
"You've got this, Lillianna!" Trey Carter, who was sitting in a chair, applauded hurriedly.
Lillianna tilted her head and looked at her brother. She smiled, feeling incredibly proud.
All the women in South City must be envious of her! she said.
The corners of her mouth curled up even more at the thought, almost to her ears.
It wasn't long before they finally stopped in front of Sam.
The famous host in South City took the microphone and said, "I'm so excited to be at my idol's wedding
today. Yes, for most of us, Mr. Garrison is our idol!"
The host's humorous speech gradually relaxed everyone.
Lacey wanted to look up to see the expressions on their faces. However, she immediately met Sam's
deep eyes.
The depths of his eyes seemed to be hidden in a bottomless abyss. There was a demonic beast in
them that was inexplicably frightening.
Lacey quickly lowered her head, feeling shocked.
Had he spotted her?
No, that was not possible!
There were so many people around. Besides, she was sitting in such a remote corner.
But his gaze—
Nope, no way was he looking at her!
Lacey shook her head slightly and looked up again.
The host was still talking on the stage. Meanwhile, Sam had his eyes fixed on Lillianna.
Lacey let out a sigh of relief. It appeared that she had seen it incorrectly!
Even so, she couldn't pay attention to what the host said next. She was still slightly stunned by the
stare Sam had made earlier.
"Ring!" Just then, her cell phone rang.
Lacey picked up the phone, and it was Rudy calling.
"Are you ready? It's about to start."
Lacey was in awe and quickly looked to the stage. The host took the microphone and jokingly asked,
"Any objections? If no one objects, the wedding is on! Make it quick! I'm going to give you all three
seconds. In three seconds, the marriage will be sealed! Three, two, one—"
"I object!"
Just as the host was about to conclude his last word, Lacey finally stood up.
