Chapter 88
Chapter 88
The once-bustling crowd hushed instantly, all eyes on the newcomer.
“I’m Luis Garrie, the coordinator for the Walker family’s estate cooperation project. First off, I’d like to thank everyone who’s come to vie for this partnership. Your presence is much appreciated! However, let me make one thing clear. If you’ve brought a gift, consider yourself out of the running. No entry for you! Those who came empty-handed, step on up!” Luis’s voice boomed with authority.
His announcement sent a shockwave through the gift-bearers at the door, their smugness replaced by sheer panic. They exchanged frantic glances, completely thrown off by the turn of events.
No one had anticipated that bringing a gift would bar them from entry, instantly stripping them of their chance to compete.
A man in a gray suit, looking anxious, stepped forward and pleaded, Mr. Garrie, what’s going on? We came in good faith. Isn’t there anything we can do?”
Luis cut the man off impatiently with a wave of his hand. “Yeah? you come to vie for the project or just to schmooze with your fan gifts? It’s people like you who breed these rotten traditions! Everyone here claims to come with good intentions, so what’s with all the fanfare and these armloads of presents?”
The man in gray flushed a deep crimson, struck dumb by Luis, while the crowd around them erupted into a buzz of protests.
“Mr. Garrie, I represent Wadlow Group. We’ve been in touch before, remember?”
“Kicking us out just for bringing a gift? That’s not fair! Does that mean we’ve come all this way for nothing?

“I’m the heir to Kemp’s Group. I demand to see Mr. Lynch! My father’s already arranged everything with him!”
Wasyl, caught in the midst of the chaos, felt a wave of panic. He had come alone, without an assistant, to show his respect. Then, he awkwardly held a gift box, unsure whether to ditch it or hold onto it.
The loudest protestors, desperate to get an audience with Malcolm, were swiftly dealt with. The four bodyguards floored them and tossed them out right before everyone’s eyes! © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Luis surveyed the crowd with an icy glare. “I don’t care if you’re some high-and-mighty heir or a big- shot CEO. Break the rules or make a scene, and you’ll be escorted out and investigated thoroughly! The one thing Mr. Lynch can’t stand is fakery and fraud!” His words sliced through the noise, and a hush fell over the crowd.
They finally got the message. They were on Max Group’s turf, not a playground for their antics. Those bodyguards? They had the moves of military pros.

Wasyl, feeling nervous too, shook off her grip and dabbed at the sweat beading on his forehead. He glanced at Luis, then down at t gift box clutched in his hands. Swallowing his fear, he forced a smil and approached Luis. “Mr. Garrie, I’m Wasyl, the heir to the Abbott Group. My dad, Paget Abbott,
had a chat with Mr. Lynch on the phone yesterday. Maybe you could let me slip in to see Mr. Lynch first?”
However, things did not go as Wasyl had hoped.
