My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2247

Preslie rolled out of bed.

After washing up, she realized no one was in the living room.

She was stumped.

She admitted she was lazy; Yesseca was much more diligent than her. Yesseca would usually go to bed later yet rise earlier than she would. Breakfast would already be ready by the time she finally woke.

She couldn't help wondering why the living room was empty that morning.

With that, Preslie went to Yesseca's bedroom to find she was sitting by the bed, lying her torso on it.

"Yesseca!" Preslie walked over.

Yesseca jolted awake at the call.

She raised her head, bleary-eyed.

Preslie was at a loss for words.

Had Yesseca fallen asleep like this?

She couldn't have slept like this all night, had she?!

Preslie was about to ask when she noticed the photo in Yesseca's hand.

She knew him. That was Lothar.

Preslie held her breath.

A notion came to her.

Yesseca probably missed her brother.

Seeing her puffy eyes, Preslie couldn't help saying, "Yesseca, I understand that you miss your brother, but don't be sad. I'm sure he's happy to see you like this."

"So, even when you miss him, don't cry; you must be strong for him!"

Yesseca muttered, "Lothar would be happy to see me like this."

"Exactly," Preslie nodded, "He would be thrilled because you've finally gotten over your past. How can he not be?"

"You're right; Lothar will be happy," Yesseca suddenly took a deep breath.

Because she had gotten over her past.

Since the past was in the past, why was she still clinging to it?

It was not her problem anymore whether Tremaine came looking for her!

She couldn't let Tremaine affect her mood anymore, let alone do something as foolish as crying for him.

Yesseca forced a smile, saying to Preslie, also probably to herself, "You're right, Preslie. I have gotten over my past. So I have to be happy! It's a brand new day; we have a lot to do!"

Preslie raised a fist. "Yes!"

Just as Yesseca and Preslie were busy renovating their new store, Celine was finally discharged from the hospital.

As soon as she was discharged, she rushed to the patisserie.

Celine was elated as soon as she

woke up, learning Preslie had finally given the patisserie to them. If not for her condition, she'd have long gone. Now that she could finally leave the hospital, she rushed to the patisserie in two shakes.

However, she was dumbfounded by what she was seeing.

Why was there no business?

She remembered the business was booming before she was locked up; it was crowded every time she came.

But now, there was no one in the patisserie except for Calter!

She immediately asked Calter what was going on.

He explained the business was great before they took over, even alright during the first few days, but it plunged fately. He deliberately asked a customer only to receive feedback of not tasting as good as they originally did.

Hearing that, Celine glared at him. "Did she not give you the recipes when she gave you the patisserie?!"

Annoyed, Calter ranted, "We've

already gone all out by asking the

patisserie, do you think she'd give us

the recipes? As if you don't know

what your daughter is like. That ungrateful wench would rather help an outsider than her family."
