“Go, get out of my sight.”

“Wait. Come back. Have someone keep an eye on the hospital. Let me know when Marion wakes up. I’m not taking the blame for something I didn’t do.”

Debra entered the room and saw Marion lying pale on the bed, but he still managed a smile for her.

“You always say you’re the toughest and no one dares to mess with you. How did you

end up like this?” she said, her tone tinged with blame and concern.

“I was careless this time. I promise it won’t happen again,” Marion said, taking her

hand.

Debra pressed, “Careless or purposeful?”
