Chapter 33
Tina was reprimanded by Pearl and kept quiet for a few days.
Initially, the wanted to complain to her father so he could seek justice for her after he returned. However, Ralph and Errol beard about an archarological team uncovering valuable artifacts in Laymein. They all went in search of treasures and lost contact with anyone.
With the tiger away, the monkey became the king.
Pearl, the “monkey” had been far from idle. In the absence of Ralph and Errol, she had taken charge of all the big and small projects within the Woolery Group. This led to another round of power struggles within the group, primarily following the principle that those who aligned with her would be promoted, and those who opposed her would be fired.
Given the numerous companies under the group and the various departments involved, there was a constant stream of urgent matters to address daily. Pearl held at least three meetings a day to ensure proper follow–up on several key projects.
The jewelry project campaign with the theme of ‘Roses‘ has generated a significant online buzz and has received an excellent response. The enthusiasm has continued to rise since its launch. Woolery Starry Media’s artists have also actively participated in promoting the campaign, leading to high fan engagement. We’ve already collected several love stories…
The director of the marketing department presented the project’s progress, and the design department showcased their designs. Pearl listened attentively, occasionally nodding
In the era of self–media, “universal participation was crucial. The higher the engagement of netizens, the more successful the project would become. Generous prizes and bonuses provided direct motivation, resulting in a substantial impact.
“These designs are all impressive, Let’s expedite the production process, and next, we’ll choose a spokesperson based on the product.” Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
The design department manager and the Woolery Starry Media artist director looked at Pearl simultaneously. “Do you mean one spokesperson per product!”
Without even lifting her eyes, Pearl annotated the design plan and said, her tone even, “Haven’t all of Woolery Starry Media’s artists been idle, contemplating contract terminations and jumping ship! For those who want to leave, we can cancel their contracts. And for those who want to keep saying, we can offer them endorsements. Everything will work out in the end, but success requires patience, even in the face of loneliness.”
As soon as the meeting concluded, Pearl returned to her office and asked Mason. “Has the crisis within the Males Group been resolved?”
Afier hastily navigating through a morning meeting, she noticed that the Males Group had once again become a trending topic on the internet. However, she had enough to deal with, so she didn’t delve into this matter. Only now did it occur to her to ask.
After serving her a freshly brewed cup of Civet Coffee, Mason proceeded to provide Pearl with the update in an orderly manner. “The Wester Medical Charity Project funded by the Males Group received explicit praise from the official media. Subsequently, other media outlets followed suit, urging netizens to focus on Males Group’s contributions rather than Mr. Males private life”
With this recognition from the official media, Males Group’s reputation swiftly rebounded, leading to a significant increase in stock and fund values. The winds of public opinion had shifted.
Many who had previously criticized now sang praises, oblivious that some of today’s admirers had once been part of the critical chorus.
This was how the internet worked today, and public opinion wielded immense influence.
Pearl remained unperturbed, and she knew that Marc could handle such minor issues.
Her father had once advised her. “For a family to prosper, it needs a capable leader to guide the way, while the rest of the members must unite, follow, and assist that leader in creating a bright future together”
Mare’s grandfather, Brooke Males, once the Males family’s leader, was aging and would eventually retire. His sons had not achieved significant success, and his eldest son of the Males family, the only one who seemed talented, had achieved political success and couldn’t go far in the business.
Among the sons and daughters of the Males family, nong stood out except for Brooke’s eldest daughter, Phoenix Males. It seemed that the Males Group would be passed to her son, Marc, the grandson of the Males family.
Marc, who enjoyed strong support from his former father–in–law, was now on the way to Nanston.
Over the years, his work had taken him to various places, but he seldom visited Mansion. The only exception was when he received a cover mission during his time in the military, which had brought him to Nanston once before.
The most famous thing about Nansion was its roses.
Every May. Nanston hosted a rose show, attracting people from all over the world. Feople on the streets and lanes would all hold with bouquets of

red roses
Pearl had a deep love for roses, and at that time, little did Mare know that Pearl was originally from Nansion.
Mare gazed out the window, fiddling with the rose stamp in his hand. He realized he didn’t know enough about his ex–wife and now yearned to
learn more.
The car drove past Nanston’s most iconic building. Rose Altar.
Marc made a call to Lucas. “I’ve arrived”
At the end of the day, Pearl received a call from Hubert, who asked her to accompany him to a fashion charity evening party.
Pearl declined directly without even thinking about it. “I don’t have the time.
“You spend too much time at work. Balancing work and leisure is good for your physical and mental health”
As Hubert heard Pearl hang up the phone, he quickly dangled a tempting offer. “There will be an auction tonight. I heard there are four enameled bowls. I’ve arranged for an expert to authenticate them, and they’re from the 1700s. If you’re not interested, they’ll be mine.”
Pearl, who was in the middle of signing documents, paused. “Tell me the time and address.”
Hubert grinned triumphantly. “Til pick you up at the Rose Garden at 7 PM. Don’t forget to dress up.”
Pearl might be able to resist the urge to buy other things, but the entire Woolery family had a passion for antiques and jade. They would rather make a mistake than let a valuable item slip through their fingers.
Pearl returned home, took a bath, and changed into a dress. When she emerged from her room, she bumped into Tina, who was also dressed up and ready to go out.
They met in the corridor.
As soon as Tina saw Pearl, jealousy consumed her.
Pearl wore a stunning red velvet one–shoulder jumpsuit, a haute couture from this year’s Spring and Summer Fashion Week. Tina had admired it in photos this morning but never expected to see it on Pearl now.
The bag on Pearl’s wrist was also a limited–edition LV.
There was also the emerald pendant she was wearing around her neck. It was very eye–catching. All those things she wore were almost worth a house.
you attending the fashion charity dinner as well?” Tina asked casually.
Pearl adjusted her earrings, maintaining a calm and elegant posture. Her voice remained flat, but her presence exuded an overwhelming authority. “When speaking to me, your attitude should be respectful and polite. The Woolery family has always maintained a certain decorum between the eldest and the youngest. Have you forgotten the etiquette instilled in you since childhood?”
Perhaps due to the recent harsh treatment she had received from Pearl, Tina’s heart couldn’t help but miss a beat when hearing Pearls words. Her gaze shrank, fearing that Pearl might impose more punishments on her at any moment. She never wished to endure that kind of taste again.
She bit her lip and reluctantly addressed Pearl. “Miss Pearl.
“Uh–huh.” Pearl nodded and scrutinized Tina’s outfit once more. “Is this the Chanel dress four or five years ago, right? It’s not bad. It somewhat suits your style.”
Rarely receiving praise from Pearl, Tina was immediately thrilled and buoyant. “Really? What style do I have!”
She hoped to hear a few more praises from Pearl.
Granting her wish, Pearl added, “A blend of boorish and rustic style.”
