Chapter 1526: Ignored It
Chapter 1526: Ignored it
Horace had no idea what Ayan was going to ask, so he was not mentally prepared at all.
So when Ayan asked, "Why did you come to Hance City? Just because you were interested in Armstrong Corp?"
If it was simply because of Armstrong Corp, it wouldn't make sense, because Armstrong Corp was not something that someone of Horace's status would be interested in. After all, there were countless companies with better prospects and development than Armstrong Corp. So how could a bankrupt company attract Horace?
Ayan's question caught Horace off guard as well. It seemed like he had never talked about or even thought about this question with Ayan before. He had been in Hance City for more than just a day or month; it had been a long time. He didn't expect anyone to still care about this question.
So he smiled.
He took a sip of his drink and then casually replied, "Mr. Simpson, you truly are Mr. Simpson. I suppose this question has been ignored by everyone since I came to Hance City, hasn't it?"
Mr. Simpson didn't say anything because he also thought the same way. He had never forgotten about it, but he hadn't found the right opportunity to ask. Once he asked, Horace would have to answer it himself, otherwise, it would be meaningless to ask.
Horace looked at Ayan, and his voice continued, "Actually, there's not much secret behind my investment in Armstrong Corp. Mr. Simpson should be familiar with the foreign investment bank Converge, right?" Ayan nodded softly, and Horace said, "The owner of Converge, Douglas Garner, has been helpful to me. His wife has worked with your wife before. Her company encountered some troubles, and Camille helped her through it. So they have maintained a good relationship. The owner of Converge knows about the relationship between Armstrong Corp and Camille. That's why he asked me if I wanted to invest in Armstrong Corp and help it start operating as a new company. Compared to a new company with no background, Armstrong Corp is definitely better."
But Horace had never mentioned this because the owner of Converge didn't want Camille to know. She didn't want Camille to bear any pressure because their relationship with the Armstrong family's parents was not good. So the owner of Converge extended a helping hand to Armstrong Corp.
Camille probably didn't even care about this matter herself because it was in the past, so she naturally wouldn't pay attention to it.
After hearing this, Ayan became more serious. He squinted his eyes and hoarsely asked, "So you financed Armstrong Corp as a way to repay the owner of Converge?"
"Hmm!" Horace chuckled and lit a cigarette. He asked in a low voice, "Do you also think like others that I came to Hance City to finance Armstrong Corp with ulterior motives?" Ayan neither denied nor confirmed, maintaining a brief silence.
In fact, not only him but anyone who knew about this matter would instinctively speculate that Horace must have had some ulterior motives for financing Armstrong Corp. But later on, Horace got together with Grace, and he gradually dispelled such thoughts.
Because Armstrong Corp was already under Horace's control. If he wanted to obtain Armstrong Corp, he didn't need to be with Grace anymore. After all, being with Grace would only become an obstacle for him to completely dominate Armstrong Corp. So Ayan no longer believed that Horace's intention was solely to obtain Armstrong Corp.
Whether Ayan asked this question or not didn't matter anymore. They had already reached this point in their conversation, so he just asked casually.
Now that he had obtained this result and unexpectedly found out that it was also related to Camille, Ayan needed some time to digest it.
Since the owner of Converge didn't intend to let Camille know, Ayan said, "Don't let Camille know about this for now. If the owner of Converge's wife wants to tell Camille, let her do it."
"I understand." So for such a long time, Horace hadn't even mentioned it to Grace.
The two continued talking and clinked their glasses together.
They sat in the bar for a while before leaving.
Ayan returned to Franklin Bay, and Horace went back to Maple Leaves Mansion.
Camille had already returned home and smelled the alcohol on Ayan. She subconsciously asked, "Did you have an engagement just now?"
It was dinner time at this point, although it had been over an hour since he finished work. Did the engagement end so quickly?
Camille sniffed and looked at Ayan with suspicion in her eyes. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Her gaze met his directly and held on tight as he held her hand and said in a low hoarse voice, "No engagement. Just sat in the bar for a while, talked about some things, had a drink." "Okay." Camille didn't ask further questions but just paused subconsciously. Her silence fell into the eyes of the man as seduction.
She didn't notice the change in Ayan's gaze as he stared at her.
The two went back to the bedroom, and Camille was about to speak when she opened her mouth but before she could make a sound, the man's kiss landed on her lips.
The man's kiss was urgent and passionate, making Camille completely defenseless.
Afterwards, everything happened
naturally as if it were meant to be
Maybe it was because of the
alcohol; his passion was doubled compared to usual, making Camille experience ecstasy multiple times.
After more than an hour, Camille lay weakly on the bed while Ayan finished showering and came out of the bathroom. He gently embraced her and asked in a husky voice full of character, "Tired?"
Camille pushed him away with her hand and spoke with a hint of annoyance, "Auntie has already prepared dinner. It's embarrassing that we haven't gone downstairs yet."
"No, Auntie with think we were busy
in the study rather than doing something intimate in the bedroom." He said it righteously as if they were doing something pure. How did drinking a glass of wine turn into this?
Camille directly pushed him away and said, "I think we should keep our distance."
After all, her waist still hurt now; if they did it again, she might really die.
Ah, getting older really took its toll!
Ayan couldn't help but laugh at Camille's reaction and actions.
He gently held her in his arms and spoke with an unusually gentle voice, "I'll bring you some food so Auntie won't see. Is that okay?"
Camille immediately refused, "No."
It had been so long since dinner time passed; if she stayed upstairs while he brought food up, Auntie would definitely guess what they had been doing. Just thinking about it made her feel embarrassed. So Camille

immediately got up and put on her pajamas. She said, "I'll go, downstairs to eat. Tell Auntie that you're busy with a meeting; I'll wait until I fall asleep."
After saying that, Camille walked out of the bedroom without even looking at Ayan sitting on the edge of the bed.
Watching her leave, Ayan's smile deepened. Did she not realize that she changed her clothes?
