I stalked my bait…
The only person I knew would send my prey running straight into my trap throughout most of the day – well, I pretty much remained on the tree even after Anderson left earlier.
With my binoculars, I saw her come out of the house wearing a fancy dress of some sort and talk with one of the guys Anderson left at home. The guy nodded, got a car key, and with them both in the car, drove off.
“Going somewhere, pretty?”
I huffed, laughing slightly.
I quickly left Anderson’s side of the estate and ran as fast as I could into his sister’s. I went straight to the garage, took out one of the car keys there, ran out of the garage storage room and straight out to the main garage… Where April’s many cars adorned the area with their different colors.
“You heading out?”
Someone asked suddenly and my heart jumped in fright.
I slowly turned to look at whom the voice belonged to, it was April. I quickly sighed in relief.
“Yes, I am.”
I replied reassuringly, trying to die out the current suspicion and speculations going on in her mind and probably stop any thing else from popping up into her devilish mind.
“It looked like you were doing something fishy a while ago, Paul.”
April asked and arched her brows.
“No, miss. I was just shocked at your sudden call… and from behind me again. You know, I thought it was even a ghost.” I said truthfully… Well, it was the truth.
She looked at me for a moment before nodding and going back into her house.
I sighed in relief and got into the car, then zoomed off.
It was already late, or so I thought because there was a traffic jam on the main road right outside the Green’s Estate and I could spot my bait nowhere.
“Oh geez… That foolish sister of his has succeeded in delaying me!”Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
I sighed frustratingly and hit the steering wheel in anger.
I guess luck was totally on my side today as soon, I spotted the unmistakable flash of light in the afternoon light and ‘Anderson’ written on the back plate of a car up ahead.
“That’s definitely her!” I exclaimed and swerved into the lane the car was on as soon as the traffic eased up.
Soon, the traffic was completely eased and I drove, my focus completely on my target as I drove on.
“Today’s a really lucky day for me.”
I said happily when their car pulled over some meters away from a marriage court.
“Wedding in secret huh?” I thought.
“Not my business anyway.”
I drifted my mind back to the main business. The lady was down from the car by now and stood at a spot watching as the car zoomed off almost immediately, until the car disappeared.
I took this as my chance, picked up a bottle of water beside me, took my handkerchief out and wet it.
Next, I got out of April’s car with the handkerchief in my hand and walked up stealthily behind my bait.
There was a rough patch of sunflower bush ahead, so timing everything, I ran towards her immediately she entered the sunflower bush blocking anyone on the road from seeing her and before she could turn her head to me, held her neck and placed the wet handkerchief over her nose, blocking her inhalation and exhalation.
“Plan worked! ”
I sighed in relief and carried her bridal style to block any suspicions from the mass.

I arrived at the marriage court around 1. 56pm straight from work and sat down on the waiting bench right outside, waiting for Alexa and my turn to be registered as husband and wife.
I was surprised when I didn’t see her anywhere around the court at first, but relaxed… Thinking she was probably still on her way here.
The traffic jam was heavy today, so it wouldn’t be really surprising that she wasn’t here yet.
After waiting for some time, I got fed up and checked my wristwatch.
“Geez! Its 2. 13 already.”
Our marriage was scheduled for 2. 40pm and after that, the registration for today would be canceled if the person to be wedded doesn’t show up.
Slowly, negative thoughts started crawling into my head
“Could it be…?”
“O̶̶f̶ c̶o̶u̶r̶s̶e̶ n̶o̶t̶. T̶h̶a̶t̶’s̶ n̶o̶t̶ p̶o̶s̶s̶i̶b̶l̶e̶.”
I rebuked.
‘Let’s just wait a while for her.
Nothing bad has happened to her.
You talked to her a few minutes ago on your office landline right?’
My subconsciousness assured me.
I hope so…
A few minutes more was all it took me to peer into my wristwatch again. I was all nervous.
This time, the clock read 2. 19pm.
“That’s enough!
I’m calling her number right now.
If this is some way to ditch this wedding, its not gonna work.”
I muttered silently.
I rang up her phone.
It went through the first time without anyone picking. I rang it up again, then placed my phone close to my ear immediately my call was picked from the other side.
At that moment, I felt all the anger, frustration and nervousness flush through me.
“Alexa, what the fvck do you think You’re doing?
Who the heck do you think you are to stand me up, Not just on any day but our wedding day!
Where in the hell are you… Wait, what am I saying?
I don’t care where in the fvcking hell you’re in. I’m just giving you a total of 5 minutes to appear here as scheduled! Do you get me?!”
I yelled over the phone, I felt my throat parch.
“Boss, its me… Bob. This ain’t Alexa.”
“Oh, I didn’t know it was you.”
Anderson apologized awkwardly.
“It’s okay boss, I understand.”
Bob replied over the phone.
“Why the heck are you with Alexa’s phone though?”
Anderson questioned.
“I found it at the back seat boss. Seems like she forgot it here.”
Bob answered.
‘That troublesome bitch!’
