Love At Last

Room 50

Lily

“Wait what!?” Cayden is taken aback, we were usually heated with our comments about each other but not as brutal as I had just done. “What did you just say”

“You heard me!” I brace myself for whatever he was about to throw at me as a counter. I was blatantly lying, Cayden had an amazing and I could only imagine how it would feel if it intertwined with mine

“Your eyes were saying a different thing a few seconds ago yunno, I saw the way they were slogging around my body and then that bite on your lips, was that your way of showing distaste?

“Oh please, even if you were the last man on planet earth, I would rather sleep with a dog than with you” I sneer in a desperate move to conceal the obvious

“Can a dog do the things I could do to you Miss Lily?”

“And what nonsense things might those be” shit, what was I saying, that came out wrong.

“Why don’t you gaze at my body long enough and you just might find out” Cayden now has this kinky look in his eyes and as badly as I hated to admit it, I was loving it too.

“Even a gun to my head, won’t make me do that again”

“Oh so you were doing it before?”

“I only turned to make sure you weren’t crossing boundaries, nothing more”

He lets out a loud laugh “No worries, like I told you before I do not have the time” then heads for the restroom to take off his remaining outfit and I immediately leave my sitting position and head for my things that the hotel attendant had left by the door for us. I began to arrange my things for the night and left the room afterwards. I needed a breather from all that sexual adrenaline rush.

I decided to use the stairs this time as I felt it was therapeutic to walk around rather than let the machines do everything for you. This time I now had the opportunity to know my way around and admire the interior of the hotel and I was sure loving every square inch of it.

I soon arrive at the lobby and head for the counter. The warmth that envelopes the receptionist’s face was almost as if she was expecting me to come back down. Somehow, I felt that the smile was just a facade as she needed to keep up in order to make sure customers leave even happier than they came. I should know, I must times did same too back at the bakery so I could tell.

“Hello Rachael” I greeted her by her name without looking at her name tag, as I had remembered it from when Cayden called it.

“Hello! How’s your stay, I trust you’ve settled in comfortably?” She inquires

“Well I wouldn’t call it that but it is a lovely hotel”

“That’s wonderful of you to say. Do you need anything, can I be of any assistance?

“Actually, I do need something”

“Anything at all, I’m here to assist”

“Do you have a food menu here?” I get the menu from her and scan its contents for a while and then I settle on what to have.

“Alright, I think I’ll have the rice and chicken soup with some salad, two of those to my room please”

“I’ll have it brought up to your room right away” we exchange minor compliments and I head back to the hotel room.

I get to the hotel room and just as I step in, Cayden comes out of the rest room looking like a sweet bowl of ice cream sundae. I drool for a short while but recover just in time for Cayden to remove the wet towel he was using to wipe his face.

“Lily, where did you run off to” he asks passively

“I went to get something for us to eat, I imagined the journey had taken a lot from our bellies” and just as I alter my last word, a knock echoes from the door

“come in” a dark skinned man who was probably in his early 30s strolls in with our meals on a carrier.

“You got something to eat for us both?” He asks in surprise but doesn’t let it show for too long

“Yeah, I hope you like chicken soup?” I Smile but Cayden doesn’t reciprocate and immediately heads for the dish.

I was just about to call him out for not appreciating the fact that I had gone down stairs to go get something for us to eat before he throws an all important question my way that puts me to my senses.

“Lily, I know what I’m about shouldn’t really matter at this point, seeing as we are here now already but I really want to know, why did you eventually decide to come with me, what changed your mind?

I hesitate a little but then give him a response, a suitable one at that “well the truth is I can understand what you’re going through, in fact I can relate with you. I too have been on a life and death situation so it was going to be selfish for me to know someone I knew was going through a similar situation and I did nothing about it or worst, bailed on you at the last lap” truth is I’d never really been in a life or death situation but telling him the truth was only going to do less for me at this point.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“Well I guess I am grateful, I was really contemplating what I was going to do knowing you had decided not to come with me. A million and one things ran through my mind and not one of them was going to yield any positive results, you might say I was almost fucked” excuse me if I’m wrong but was Cayden beginning to get emotional? The Cayden that I knew never acknowledged anyone’s effort but his, what was going on?
