Laura’s Victory Second Chance

CHAPTER 25

Chapter 25

David and Emma were stunned. If they hadn’t seen Olivia in the video looking so engaged, they might not have believed Olivia capable of such a thing.

Elara was the first to react. Always quick to act, she stormed over to Olivia and slapped her hard. “I thought you were a sweet girl, but here you are, acting so young and underhanded! You’re the one who seduced my son.”

With that move, Elara shifted the focus onto Olivia. David felt a pang of distress watching his daughter being hit, but considering his ties with Christopher, he stayed quiet.

Whispers of gossip buzzed around, and Olivia hated Laura even more. She’d seen Laura as a fool before, but Laura had outsmarted her this time. Olivia regretted drugging Robert that night; if she hadn’t, he wouldn’t have been so impulsive, and they wouldn’t have gotten caught.

Emma raised her hand to slap Olivia but stopped herself. “Olivia, what were you thinking?”

Olivia’s actions were clearly wrong–she was trying to steal Laura’s boyfriend. Emma thought Olivia shouldn’t have done such a thing even if Olivia disliked Laura.

Emma didn’t realize that, even if it had nothing to do with Laura, she would still put all the blame on Laura. Deep down, she knew Olivia had done something wrong, but instead of scolding her, her first instinct was to find excuses for her. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Laura looked at her hand and realized just how far apart she and Olivia were. Disappointment washed over her. She shouldn’t have expected anything better from Emma and David.

“Robert, is this what you meant by not having an affair? Are you the one playing both sides here?”

Robert stepped forward, wanting to grab Laura’s hand, but she pulled away. “Don’t touch me; I feel gross.”

“Laura, just hear me out,” Robert pleaded. “I wasn’t myself that night. I think someone might have drugged me.” Even he wasn’t sure how everything had spiraled out of control.

Olivia chimed in, her tears still flowing, “We were both drugged that night.”

Someone from the crowd said, “Ms. Sharpe, do you even have any decency left? The video speaks for itself.”

It’s our proof!” Olivia shot back defensively. “Robby and Laura love each other. If we were having a private affair, we wouldn’t be so reckless in public.

“Robby was feeling low and drinking a lot. I was just being a good friend—the next thing we knew, we were both drugged. We have our dignity to think about; how could we let ourselves be caught on camera like that?

Isn’t it odd that Laura has all this evidence? How did she manage to get the footage?

As Olivia laid out her argument, people began to lean in, processing her words.

“And let’s not forget Laura accepted a necklace from another guy just days ago. How does that fit into the story if she’s breaking up with Robby? “Yeah, I messed up, but it wasn’t intentional! If we hadn’t been drugged, we would never have done that,” Olivia insisted, every word aimed at Laura.

“Ms. Sharpe has a point,” someone broke in. “How could Laura have predicted this? It seems calculated.”

“Exactly! Maybe Laura set this whole thing up to find a reason to break up with Robert. And she could also frame Olivia.”

“Impressive! Turns out Laura is so scheming.”

Elara pointed a finger at Laura. “My son has always been loyal! He’s been in love with you for ages. He’s got some pursuers but never paid any attention to them. He’d never ditch you for Olivia. You need to explain yourself, or our Brown family won’t take this lightly.”

David shot Laura a puzzled look. Did you really orchestrate all of this?

Emma’s voice dripped with hatred. “Come on! Who else could it be? Liv just got back. She hasn’t been around long enough to form feelings with Robert. They wouldn’t do something like that; there must be some foul play involved.

Also, Liv just returned not long ago, with no enemies or issues with anyone. This all points back to you, Laura.”

“Dropping her sister in the dirt, breaking up with Robert, and then pinning all the blame on them? That’s genius! If Laura’s strategic mind was put to better use, she’d be running a country by now.”

“I’ve known Robert long enough to know he wouldn’t behave like this willingly. This all feels off.

I can back that up. He wouldn’t do sonicthing like that.

Olivia rubbed her eyes, feeling very pleased. Poor Laura thought she had it all figured out, but Olivia felt like the true winner here.

Laura found herself surrounded by unfriendly faces, all questioning her. Glancing at Evan Quinn, one of the young men from wealthy families who spoke up for Robert, she recalled how he had been swayed by Olivia’s charms and often targeted her in social settings in her previous life.

“Mr. Quinn,” she said, her tone sharp, “be careful not to talk too big. It’s gonna hurt when reality slaps you in the face.”

Olivia stiffened at Laura’s words. ‘Does she have some hidden ace up her sleeve? If not, how could she stay so calm?‘ she thought to herself. Evan fiddled with his ring, raising an eyebrow. “Ms. Sharpe, you’re a completely different person now. This change makes me wonder–are you backed by someone new?

“Trying to dump my buddy, huh? I know him better than you do. He would never pull a stunt like that. On the flip side, it seems like dirty tricks of your own and want to pin it on him. Do you really think we’re that gullible?”

In the past, these guys would stomp all over Laura’s dignity, and Luke Wilson, standing nearby, even wanted to take advantage of her. Laura had been itching for a chance to turn the tables. “Mr. Quinn, you really trust your buddy, don’t you?”

“Good buddies always have each other’s backs.””

“Alright, since you’re so sure about Robert, let’s make a bet on him.”

Evan paused, intrigued. “Okay, I’m in. If you lose, Ms. Sharpe, you’ll kneel and slap yourself three times while saying ‘I’m a bitch. Do you dare to take that bet?”

The crowd sensed the drama and leaned in. Some people were eager to capture the moment and watch Laura humiliated.

Laura smiled, a stunning sight that only made her look more confident. “You’re going to regret that! Since you love the idea of making me kneel so much, I’ll match your bet. If you lose, you’ll kneel, slap yourself three times, and say ‘I’m a scumbag. But I’ll add a twist.”

She pointed to a durian resting at a distance. “You have to kneel on that.”
