Evelyn sputtered, “What?”

“If you’re not pregnant, why are you drinking the chicken soup? It doesn’t seem right to compete with a pregnant woman for food, right?” Ingrid asked.

“There’s a whole pot of soup. Do you think you can finish it all by yourself?” Evelyn thought Ingrid must not be in her right mind. How could she say something so ridiculous?

“I can finish it.”

“What exactly are you trying to say?”

Ingrid dropped the pretense. “Since you made the chicken soup for me, it would be best if no one else drinks it. Don’t you agree?”

“Fine.” Evelyn slammed the bowl down with a cold smile and said, “Take your time and enjoy the soup, then!” After saying that, she turned and left.

Ingrid raised an eyebrow smugly. She sneered in disgu fter glancing at the two bowls of soup on the table. She got up and went to her room without touch

“Why didn’t you drink the soup?” Evelyn demanded.

iem.

Ingrid yawned as she had just woken up from a nap. “I suddenly don’t feel like drinking it. Is that a problem?”Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“You…”

“Mrs. Johnson, could you knock before entering my room next time? You suddenly showing up like this might scare the baby in my belly.”

Evelyn was at a loss for words.

That evening. Ingrid sat in the living room, watching television.

Evelyn suggested that she move around and take a walk around the garden, as it would be good for the baby. However, Ingrid ignored her.

“Mrs. Johnson, since you seem to be free, why don’t you go and buy me some meatballs? I want to eat meatballs from Lucky’s Meatballs at Westside. Their meatballs are the best.”

Evelyn looked out the large window. The sky was pitch black.

It would take at least 50 minutes to reach Westside and the round trip would take nearly two hours. The shops would be closed by then! Even if they were still open, the meatballs would have gone cold.

Evelyn suggested, “They’re probably closed at this hour. If you want to eat meatballs, I’ll get Martha to make some for you at home…”

Ingrid spoke slowly, “But home cooked meatballs don’t taste as good as the store–bought ones. The shop closes at 11:00 pm. If you go now and get in line, you should still make it in time.

Evelyn wasn’t happy with the idea. Getting her to line up for meatballs late at night? What an absurd idea!

Do you think I want to eat it?” Ingrid asked. “It’s the baby who wants to eat it, not me. If you don’t go, fine. But I definitely won’t be able to go to sleep if I don’t get to eat it tonight.

“If I can’t sleep, it’s your grandchild who will be affected. The doctor also said that I should avoid any stress and keep myself from being too agitated…”

Evelyn replied, “I’ll get Dan to go, or we can just use a delivery service.” It wouldn’t cost much.

Ingrid blinked innocently and said, “But my baby sald he specifically wants to eat meatballs bought by his grandmother. What do we do?”

Evelyn was speechless at Ingrid’s words.

Ingrid sighed with a disappointed expression. “Well, forget it. That’s just how it is for a child who isn’t loved. Oh, my stomach seems to be hurting again…”

“Fine!” Evelyn said through gritted teeth, the muscles in her face twitching from holding herself back. “I will go and buy it!”

She called Dan angrily, ‘Go to Westside.

Ingrid said with a smile, “Sarah, can you wash a plate of cherries for me?”

Then, she turned to Martha. “Martha, I heard you you make me some?”

great cook. I’d like to have some meatballs. Could

Martha frowned. “But Mrs. Johnson just went out to buy some…”

“How long will that take for her to return? I want to eat them now!“.

“Should I call Mrs. Johnson and ask her to come back? Since there’s no need to buy it anymore.”

Ingrid sneered, “You don’t need to call her. I want to try both homemade and store–bought ones.

Martha was at a loss for words. This was madness!

Evelyn didn’t have a pleasant trip. A heavy rainstorm started on the way, and the meatball store was in a deep alley. She had to walk in and stand in line!

When she finally bought them and got home, the living room was pitch black. Sarah told her that Ingrid had already eaten and gone to bed half an hour ago after saying she was tired.

Evelyn was so angry that she threw the takeout box to the floor. “That little bitch! She was determined to teach her a lesson sooner or later!

The meatballs spilled everywhere and rolled across the floor, creating a chaotic mess.

Martha could only sigh in resignation. She also felt tired.

The next day, Ingrid claimed she had lost her appetite recently and wanted to eat something more flavorful.

So, Evelyn prepared a cup of honey lemon tea for Ingrid using gourmet honey. She even cooked a pot of lentil soup with beans to nourish her body.

hind it’s too greasy! Is this meant

However, Ingrid took one sip and immediately spat it out. “What soup is for a pregnant woman? I said I wanted something flavorful. Is this it? This is nothing but a bowl of beans!”
