“Are you sure you don’t need me to accompany you to your room?” asked Nico with a worried look. Brina’s message had made him leave the banquet in a hurry. For Nico it didn’t matter, but seeing Giselle who looked exhausted and her face not as cheerful as before, made Nico unable to leave the girl in the hotel lobby.
“I can do it myself,” Giselle said with a laugh. “You go back, Nico. I’m sorry for troubling you tonight.”
Nico chuckled. He immediately approached Giselle and accompanied her. His hand reached out without permission to touch Giselle’s forehead. Making sure that what he was worried about didn’t happen. But unfortunately, Giselle’s body temperature was different. “Do you have a fever?”
“I’m fine.” Giselle gently brushed away Nico’s hand that touched her forehead. Smiling faintly at the man she considered more than just a coworker. “I can go to my room safely.”
“I can’t believe it,” Nico snorted with a displeased look. “Come on, you need to rest soon. I’ll have Brina catch up with you soon.”
“Don’t,” Giselle quickly intervened. “You can drop me off, but I don’t want this to bother any of them, including Harvey and Justin.
“But, you’re not in the mood-”
“You want to interrupt their celebration?” asked Giselle with a sharp look. “I just need to rest quickly. I’ll be back to full health by tomorrow morning.”
Nico gave up. What Giselle had said did have some truth to it. At least the stubborn girl didn’t ask him to leave immediately. At the very least, Nico made sure Giselle arrived at her room okay. Maybe if the event was a little more relaxed, he would immediately tell Brina about Giselle’s condition.
No one spoke between them as the elevator led to the floor where Giselle was staying temporarily. Although Nico occasionally glanced at Giselle, the girl tried to keep a calm face. She didn’t want to cause too much trouble on such an important day. Although Giselle did not understand why she could be this weak.
Whereas for some time now, she had always been eager and also obeyed everything Brina said. Besides, in the past month, there had been no shipments from Andrew. No. oh… gosh, Giselle didn’t expect to get continuous deliveries from Andrew. She also understood that he was busy with his business. In fact, Giselle was grateful that the deliveries were starting to cease. Even though…
“Are they really engaged?” Giselle asked softly.
Nico gave her a questioning glance. The voice that came out of Giselle’s mouth was so quiet that he could not hear it clearly, similar to the buzzing of bees. “Are you talking, Giselle?”
“Ah?!” Giselle blinked excitedly. At the same time, the clinking of the elevator where their chosen destination floor was indicated by the screen above the metal box door. “Here we are.”
Nico looked at Giselle suspiciously but could do nothing but follow the girl out of the elevator. “Are you sure you can leave me alone? I can wait for you in the lobby until Brina comes.”
“No need,” Giselle quickly interrupted. “I’ve caused you too much trouble, Nico. Enjoy the party again.”
Nico chuckled. “I don’t know why hearing your words this time feels strange. You’re used to being annoying and chatty.” But his hand reached out to ruffle Giselle’s loose hair. “Alright, I won’t push myself anymore. get some rest. Maybe Brina will tell you to take your vitamins, Giselle.”
Giselle chuckled. “You’re right.” She smiled slightly as she inserted the key slot. “Thank you again.”
Nico nodded quickly. After making sure Giselle went inside her room, closing the door with the sound of the door locking, he left. One message for Brina to speed up her business while at the banquet; to accompany Giselle. Nico deliberately did not tell her about Giselle’s condition, which he felt was exhausted. Hopefully, Giselle’s condition would not worsen.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Meanwhile, Giselle let out a long sigh. she still had to take off all the attributes attached to her body. Including the makeup which was quite thick but luckily, her hair was not worn with anything other than a semat with a beautiful pearl decoration in the center. She began to take off what she was wearing one by one. Until it felt much more comfortable wearing cotton pajamas.
“I missed what should have been a fun night, huh,” she said quietly. she had her face free of makeup. Sitting at the dressing table where some of her personal gear lay. For some reason, the conversation with Harvey about Andrew and the girl beside him came back to her.
I didn’t want to remember it, but it had already passed by again.
“So… Fania is the granddaughter of a former president?” Giselle’s jaw almost dropped, gaping in disbelief, at her best friend who spoke so casually.
“I see.” Harvey grinned slightly. “I didn’t expect them to show up at an event like this.”
“But Andrew didn’t say anything about his relationship with Fania.” Giselle still couldn’t believe her vision. But there, where Andrew and Fania were standing, it was clear that Andrew’s attitude towards the girl Giselle recognized was friendly and passionate.
It’s a perfect match with Andrew who doesn’t say much but is full of attention.
No matter what, Giselle eventually admitted that Andrew is indeed a caring and soft-hearted figure. It’s just that sometimes he’s a little pushy and doesn’t want to be outdone on some things. Maybe it’s his innate attitude while working and leading a large international company like The Collage.
“Might want to surprise you.” Harvey smiled slightly. “That means the answer Andrew gave to my question is today.”
“What do you mean?” asked Giselle still with a questioning look. But she didn’t resist when Harvey put his arm around her and directed their steps to the table that had been prepared.
“I told you that if Andrew is serious about approaching you, he should finish his business. And now, I know he’s done his business today.”
The more Giselle’s head didn’t understand Harvey’s words. “When did you talk?”
“Jesus this kid.” Harvey chuckled in annoyance. “Never mind, it’s no longer important. We’d better eat and recharge before the real celebration comes. I need the energy to speak up and confront someone.”
“There are so many things I don’t understand, Harvey.”
“I’ll tell you but not now.” Harvey gave Giselle an ignorant glance to which she responded with a huff.
“How mysterious,” Giselle grumbled, but she didn’t resist when Harvey pulled out a chair for her. A waiter came to serve some dishes. But her eyes were still fixed on one point; Andrew. What was this all about?
“Tsk! Why am I thinking about things I shouldn’t be thinking about?” Giselle tapped her forehead lightly. exhaled a long breath and began her bedtime facial session. She had also prepared some medicine to relieve the dizziness present in her head. In addition to needing a longer rest, she needed medicine so that the pain in her head could subside in the morning. She was determined not to trouble anyone during her stay in Long Island.
“Should I ask Brina to bring me some hot chocolate?” she murmured as she applied the night cream. Making sure no part of her face was missed. Until the buzzing of the cell phone lying nearby called for attention. An incoming message from a figure who had upset Giselle.
Andrew. K:
I’m in the lobby of the hotel where you’re staying. Can we meet? This time, I insisted. I’m afraid I can’t see you anymore.
