Chapter 31
Gina
I woke up the next morning to find myself sleeping alone in my bed. My head was seriously banging from an intense headache, and I could barely keep my eyes open.
I lifted the duvet off my body to see that I was in my nightgown. I wonder how and who would have helped me change when I came home.
I can’t remember all that happened last night, and I wonder about the alcoholic content of that drink that got me so high after only two glasses.
My first instinct was to check if I was okay down there. I tried listening to my body, and luckily, everything seemed fine down there, with no pains, aches, or anything whatsoever.
Most of the images seemed very blurry, but the most tangible thing I remember is being pulled out of the club by Denver and leaving behind his brothers.
My heart skipped a beat at the thought of something terrible happening to them. They maybe jerk sometimes, but they were still my mates.
A mild chattering sound coming from her kitchen made me come down from the bed and start walking out of my room.
I had barely walked out of my room when I was hit by the beautiful scent of my triplet mates. A sigh of relief eluded my lips as I made my way to the kitchen.
I had barely stepped into the room when they all turned their gaze on me.
My stomach tightened up as sweet chills ran through my spine as their dark, lustful eyes ravished my very essence.
I knew my curves made the rope beautiful and that they could barely keep their eyes off me.
Denver was standing and resting slightly on the kitchen cabinet with both hands in his pockets.
While Derrick was wearing one of my aprons and stirring something on the fire. Devon, who was sitting down, came to me immediately after I walked in.
“Hey, babe, you are awake,” he said as he brought out a chair for me to sit down in. His touch was electric as usual, as it sent sparks all over me.
“Thanks,” I mumbled as I tried supporting my still-banging head with my hand.
“Are you alright?” Derrick asked me, as he walked over to the fridge, to bring out a bottle of water and a glass cup. Seeing him in my apron and walking around like he owned my kitchen turned me on.
“Yeah, I just wish this horrible headache would let me be,” I said.
“You are having a hangover; take this; I’m sure you will be fine after some time,” he said, handing me a cup of water.
“Thanks,” I mumbled, gulping down the chilled water.
“You shouldn’t be drinking if you can’t handle it,” Denver said coldly.
His voice directed my attention to him, and even though I felt he was right with what he had just said, I was also offended.
Maybe because he seemed to be the least concerned person since I walked into the kitchen.
Moreover, it was not like I was dead drunk or something. I only took two glasses of wine, and honestly, I didn’t know it would affect me so badly.
“I can handle my drink, but it is sometimes very difficult for me to handle proud and self-centered people,” I said to him, unable to hide my annoyance.
“At least I didn’t almost get raped by some biker jerk last night,” he said, and I noticed his words were becoming very hurtful, or should I say nasty, every time he spoke.
“I was not close to being raped; don’t make it look like I was too drunk to remember anything,” I spurred at him.
“Then why were you speaking with him?” he questioned, looking me straight in the eyes.
“Because you left me, you all did,” I screamed at him.
My statement seems to have had some sort of effect on Derrick and Devon, as they both stared ghostly at each other.
“I left because I wanted to tell Derrick and Devon that I was taking you home because you were already acting funny,” he said.
“Then, what stopped you from telling me, or do you think I do not remember how you were shamelessly flirting with those girls at the club? You went after them as soon as they left.” I fired at him.
“So you were jealous? And you wanted payback, right?” He asked while taking slow, thoughtful steps toward me.
His eyes were going black, and as his veins were now visible on his body, I could tell that he was angry—not just him, but his wolf as well.
“Denver, calm down,” Derrick said to him, attempting to stop him from coming closer to me.
But one cold stare from him made Derrick back off. I instinctively stood up to meet his daring gaze with mine. I was not afraid of him, at least not at that moment.
“You do like to play games, mate?” Don’t you?” He said it while he was a few steps from me.
As much as I wanted to say something back to him, I was no longer sure if he was capable of hurting me at that moment or not. With no wolf of mine to tell me what to expect from my overly jealous mate, I felt it was better to keep quiet, not without giving him a piece of my side-eye, though.
Surprisingly, as soon as he was close enough to lay his hands on me, he didn’t, but rather let a devilish smirk hang on his lips.
“Let this be the last warning, or else,” he said, leaning closer to my ears to whisper his next set of lines.
“If I ever get you flirting with any other man, aside from my brothers, I will punish you in ways you can never imagine,” he said, threateningly, while his hot breath tickled my neckline.
Absurdly, instead of me pushing him off me or telling him to go bite his a*s, I found myself liking his threats. I may be crazy, but I found myself imagining what punishments he had in mind.
Will he tie me up, spank me hard, or make me beg him to f**k me?
The thought of being tied up while being ravished by him tickled my fancy, and I subconsciously found myself biting my lower l*p.
He notices the fact that his words have turned me on as a devilish smile creeps up his face.
“You should stop wetting your pants for me in the presence of my brothers; you are going to make them think that you like me more than you do for them when in the real sense, we both know the truth,” he whispered in my ears before walking out of the kitchen that same moment.
“Are you alright?” Devon asked questions as soon as Denver walked out.
“Yeah, I am fine; I wonder why your brother has to be a jerk, though,” I said, trying to get my already messed-up brain together.
“I can’t argue with the fact that he is a jerk, but I do know for a fact that he likes you a lot,” Derrick said to me.
“He sure does have a very strange way of showing it, doesn’t he?” I said, rolling my eyes.
“I don’t know what you have heard about alpha males, but something you must know is that we are very possessive of our mates. We don’t like to share what is ours, and while some of us may try to control the effect of seeing our mate with another man, others just can’t,” Derrick said as he started dishing some soup onto a plate.
“I should have killed him then when I saw him flirting with those girls,” I said defensively.
“Those girls meant nothing to him; he may have done that to make you jealous, and you fell for it,” he said, placing a nicely made hot chicken soup before me.
The aroma was super nice, and I could hardly believe that Derrick made it. I mean, among the triplets, he was the least likely one to know how to cook.
“So you can cook?” I asked as I picked up a spoon to taste the soup.
“We all can cook; we were taught by our grandma,” he said with a satisfied smile as he looked at my surprised face when I tasted his chicken soup.
“Mmmmm, This is impressive, I said to him.
“I’m glad you like it; I was hoping all four of us would sit together this morning as one happy family,” he said.
“I would have loved that, but your brother just likes to pick on me. How did you guys get home last night? I questioned.
“When the fight started, he feared anything happening to you, and that was the reason he brought you home first; he drove back to the club to get us,” Derrick said.
Hearing that he left his brothers at the club because of me made my heart soften a bit towards him.
Maybe I was a little too harsh on him.
Anyway, if he had told me his plans, any of these wouldn’t have happened.
“So tell me about that girl who came to our table with his brother,” I said to Derrick, and I noticed that Devon froze for a moment before continuing with his meal.
“She was a friend of ours.” He said dismissively.
“Was?” I questioned, giving him the “don’t f**k with me” look.
“Yeah, she is in the past now, and you are our future,” he said.
I couldn’t help but notice how he was deliberately avoiding my eyes while he spoke.
After breakfast, I joined them to clean the dishes, after which they left for their apartments.
I went back to my room to freshen up and change into a nice sleeveless short dress while leaving my hair to dance freely on my shoulders.
I was still applying my makeup when I saw Denver’s reflection in the mirror. He was standing with his hands in his pockets while resting his shoulder slightly on the wall.
His sudden appearance there would have scared me if I didn’t know that super speed was one of the traits of an alpha wolf.
His presence in the room made chills run through my body, maybe because I was so unsure of myself being alone around him.
It was a lot easier for me to resist any s****l tension coming from his brothers, but with him. I find myself being magnetically pulled to him.
“You don’t like me much, do you?” He questioned calmly, holding my eyes in his through the mirror.
His voice was serene and sexy.
“Why would you say I don’t like you? Of course, I do, and you are my mate,” I said, spinning around in my chair, so I was facing him.
“Then why do you always push me away?” he questioned.
“Do I, or is it you, who constantly look for a reason to fight with me?” I said to him.
“I am sorry about earlier; I was jealous when I saw you speaking with that punk a*s last night,” he said, dropping his eyes to the floor.
“I am sorry too for trying to make you jealous; I didn’t know the effect would be that catastrophic,” I said, buying my lower l*p.
I wonder why I have to be so girlish around him if you know what I mean.
“It’s okay; I guess I have to work on my temper, especially when I am around you,” he said, running his hand through his already messy hair.
“I will like that,” I said with a faint smile.
“By the way, you look astonishing,” he said as his eyes rested on my cleavage, which was partly bare before him.
“Thanks, I said, smiling.
“I should be on my way now, I am happy we settled our differences,” he said, making attempts to walk towards the door. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
“Or you could stay a little with me, so we could get to know ourselves,” I said to him.
Standing up from the chair I was seated on and slowly walking up to him.
“Are you sure you want me to stay here with you?” He questioned, fixing his eyes on mine once again.
“Yeah, why not,” I questioned with a shrug.
“I might not be able to hold myself from touching you,” he said.
“Is that all I mean to you?” I questioned, standing a few inches from him.
“I don’t understand what you are asking, but I can assure you that you mean more than I can ever say to you,” he said, trying to restrain himself from holding me.
“What if I say I missed you,” I said to him and watched his eyes brighten up a little.
“I will ask you to prove it,” he said daringly.
I stretched to stand on my toes, to place a k**s on his lips.
“Is that convincing enough?” I asked, staring at his sexy eyes.
“No,” he said, and in one swift move, my back was resting on the wall with his lips coming hard on mine in a hot passionate k**s.
