Chapter 2344
Chapter 2344
Norah clasped the wooden railing tightly, her fingertips turning slightly white with anticipation and nervousness as she gazed down at their reflections in the water.
Xavier remained silent, merely tossing a pebble into the lake before turning to walk away.
The stone plunged into the lake with a "plop," and Norah felt as if her whole heart trembled along with it. Soon, ripples spread across the water, faintly shimmering under the light, disappearing into the depths of the lake one circle at a time.
At that moment, Norah suddenly felt as if she had truly lost her mind.
After dinner, they went their separate ways. Humming a pop song, Norah climbed the stairs when she heard Henson from behind, "Feeling happy after seeing someone you like?"
Norah whirled around in astonishment, "How did you know?"
Henson smiled as if he had just figured it out, "Just found out."
Only then did Norah realize Henson was teasing her. Frustrated, she clenched her fists, tempted to punch him.
"It's you who gave yourself away. If I hadn't noticed anything, why would I tease you?" Henson clicked his tongue twice, "Looks aren't bad, but it seems like he's just not that into you!"
Norah looked around before dragging Henson into her room. Once the door was closed, Norah, with a stern face, warned, "You can't tell anyone!" Henson, unconcerned, replied, "What could you possibly do to me? You can't beat me!"
"I, I will," Norah, thinking quickly, "I'll go to Estelle and have her back me up."
Henson, now seated on the couch, asked curiously, "Does Estelle know?"
Norah nodded, "Of course, she knows!"
Henson frowned, "Then why not tell Mom and Dad?"
Norah's expression drooped as she slumped down, "Didn't you hear what Mom said during dinner? She wants me to call him 'uncle'; there's a whole generation gap there!"
"It's mainly because he doesn't like you, isn't it?" Henson sneered, "He's not really your uncle. If he liked you, would he care about that?"
Norah's face showed a heart-stricken expression, "I was just starting to feel a bit better, can you not be so harsh?"
Henson sighed, "Your love life has been quite the roller coaster!"
Norah agreed wholeheartedly, "It's almost like a quest for the Holy Grail!"
"That's different!" Henson said
calmly, "A quest for the Holy Grail is
a mutual journey. The knights wanted to find it, and it, in a way, awaited them. You, on the other hand, are more like trying to snatch the Holy Grail for yourself!"
Norah was so angry she wanted to throw him out. She longed for the days when she could bully him with ease, but now Henson had grown taller than her!Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
"Get out, just leave!" Tears swirled in Norah's eyes from frustration.
"I'm leaving, but who will help you claim the Holy Grail?" Henson scoffed.
Norah paused, "You would help me?"
"Of course!" Henson declared earnestly, "When I read about the
Holy Grait always wished those
who sought it for selfish reasonmet
could get a taste, just to see if
really grants eternal life. Now I finally have a chance!"
Norah,
Leaning against the couch, she no longer wanted to speak. Suddenly, she sat up, anxiously asking Henson, "What gave me away today?"
She thought she had disguised her feelings well, not daring to stare at Xavier too much.
"It's the change in your mood before and after," Henson consoled, "Don't worry, our parents didn't notice."
Only he knew Norah had been in a
state of heartbreak recently, but her mood improved drastically after a meal, indicating someone at the dinner table was the person she wanted to see. Additionally, Norah's weekly visits to the barbecue
restaurant, and the fact that
Gonzalez happens to own a barbecue restaurant, made it unmistakably clear.

Norah felt relieved, "For now, I don't want our parents to know."
Xavier alone was enough to worry about; involving their families would only make their relationship even more unlikely.
Henson inquired, "So the person you said wasn't into you, it's Gonzalez?"
