Fated is overrated

Chapter 32

Chris POV

Just as I am about to move, I feel a sudden bolt of energy and before I can realize what is going on, I am thrown across the room slamming into the wall. What the f*ck is going on? Did someone come in? I'm a wolf, an Alpha for f*ck sake. I should have smelled or sensed anyone coming in. And who would dare defy me anyway?! Getting up from the ground I immediately look to the closed door, it doesn't seem like anyone came in. Suddenly, I hear rough panting and turn to look at Lola, who seems to be in pain as she is hugging herself tightly. When I notice the fur starting to sprout on her skin and hear the cracking of bones it suddenly hits me - today is her birthday! Of course, I completely forgot. She is shifting for the first time. Damn, talk about timing... As a first shift takes at least 15 minutes for normal wolves - around 5 for an Alpha - I start to zip my pants back up. While lost in thoughts on whether or not I need to bring her outside, I feel a huge blow to my chest, crashing me through the window and onto the yard outside. Good thing I am a werewolf and an Alpha at that - as the impact would probably have killed most omegas and females, especially if still in their human form.

I grunt while I stand up, since I was in human form this really hurts. How was I caught off guard by that and by whom? I hear a vicious growl behind me and turn to see a huge wolf.

Not Alpha huge - this wolf is more than twice the size of Cezar, this is a literal beast! In fact, I think the closest thing I have seen to such a beast is the Alpha King himself and I could be mistaken as it has been a while since I have seen him - but this wolf looks slightly bigger even. It must be almost 14 feet! Who the f*ck is he? And how did they stalk up to me unnoticed?!

It also doesn't escape my attention that the wolf is pure white and there is a fire-like glow around it, no, oozing from it. Turning my gaze upwards, I notice the eyes are completely pitch black - not just the irises like normal wolves - its entire eyes are black and they are also emanating pure fire.

In each and every aspect, this wolf is something I have never seen or even heard of before. ' Cezar, are you seeing this? And are you ready?" with no reply from Cezar, the wolf is slowly stalking towards me, teeth fully bare and growling and snarling. 'Cezar! It's now or never!". As I feel I am getting cornered by the wolf, I finally feel Cezar taking over and I shift into my black wolf.

I am expecting Cezar to start circling the wolf as he should, to start freeing himself from this delicate position of being pushed back further. But instead, he just stands completely still as I yell at him 'what the f*ck are you doing?'. Panic starts to strike me as his walls are up - preventing me from contacting him and I wonder why he seems to have a death wish all of a sudden?!Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

He still isn't moving as the wolf creeps closer, teeth still fully bare and ready to pounce at any moment to snap our neck. When all of a sudden, I see Cezar crouching down to the ground in submission. What the f*ck?!? 'Cezar let me in! What the f*ck are you doing?! We are the Alpha! No matter the odds, we won't submit!". Still no answer from him, he is still blocking me out.

The wolf comes to a halt and retracts its teeth as a response to Cezar's submissiveness, but he is still growling viciously. Although I am partially glad the wolf seems to be backing off because of Cezar's action, this is f*cking humiliating for an Alpha and no Alpha wolf should or would ever do this. We fight to the death. What has gotten into him?

Suddenly, I see two wolves approach me from the back, flanking me. Looking at them and smelling them, I immediately recognize them both as the twin brother and sister who are hosting this party. They are both growling at the white beast, coming to my defense as their Alpha. As they should.

Upon seeing the two wolves, the beast in front of me flashes its eyes from a raging fire to green, like it is wanting to communicate to the two wolves beside me. There are no known wolves to have green eyes though, that is a very rare color. Wait ..... Is that ...... Lola?? It can't be. Lola is a she wolf.

She could never have a beast like this. The more I look back and forth between the wolves flanking me and the beast, I realize they recognize this beast. But it can't be. It Really can't be as females are always smaller than males and this is the biggest beast I have

ever seen.

Although the flanking wolves seem to recognize the beast, they do not stand down and start growling at the beast in front of us. I see a flash of emotion in the beast's eyes, before they turn to a blazing fire yet again and the beast lets out a growl so loud it is literally shaking the ground beneath our feet.

It seems the growl from the two wolves made the beast erupt in anger as it is baring its teeth even more vicious than before, still growling and now also snarling at us.

The beast is now oozing so much force and power that I hear the wolves flanking me whimper. Just as I am wondering why Cezar still isn't doing jack sh*t, he crawls towards the beast, with his body still touching the ground in submission.

The beast bends down, indicating it is going to pounce on us any minute now 'Cezar get up and fight!'. Still no response from him, as he suddenly rolls over on his back in not just submission - but total surrender.

I am always a vocal guy, but right now I genuinely don't know what to say to him. Nor anyone else for that matter. What the f*ck is he doing? I know this wolf is a beast but there are 3 of us and 1 of him. And an Alpha never backs down. We would die before we submit or surrender.

Still getting nothing from Cezar, the beast in front of me seems to calm down at the sight of Cezar's actions as it retracts it's teeth and stops the growling and snarling.

Still not understanding what the f*ck is happening here, the beast rips out a loud howl before turning on its heels and vanishing into the woods. Not that Cezar would move to even chase it - but I doubt he could keep up with his beast as it seems to be supernaturally fast as well.

When the beast is gone, Cezar immediately shifts back to my human form without so much as a word still. Turning my attention to the wolves who have also just shifted back to their human forms I mutter "not a word of this to anyone!" before turning on my heels towards the packhouse.
