Chapter 43
Chapter 43
Sierra’s back slammed against the couch armrest. Tears streamed down her face as she asked, “Don, what’s wrong?”
“The wine spilled on me, and wearing wet clothes feels uncomfortable,” Dorian replied impassively.
Seeing that he was about to leave, she quickly apologized in a coquettish voice, “I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional.
“Why don’t you go to the bathroom and change? I bought some clothes for you when I was out shopping earlier.”
He quickly refused, “No, thanks. I’ll change at the office. You stay at home and rest. If you need anything, just call me.”
Sierra wanted to say something to keep him there, but he hurried away without a pause.
Left alone in the apartment, she stomped and muttered, “Argh! F**k you, Gisele!”
She couldn’t help but wonder why everything had been fine before.
When she hadn’t returned to the country, Dorian would fly over to be with her every few
days.
Now that she was back, though he was still sweet, she could tell that something had changed.
Dorian frowned and closed his eyes to rest in the luxurious yet understated Bentley.
The damp shirt made him extremely uncomfortable. But he didn’t want to change in Sierra’s apartment because he was worried about the irreversible consequences.
It would have solidified Sierra’s status as the mistress.
Dorian tried to convince himself with this reasoning. It definitely wasn’t because he felt repulsed and had bolted when she had tried to k*ss him.
It absolutely wasn’t because the person he wanted to k*ss was Gisele, prompting his escape.
Jon suddenly broke the silence and said, “Mr. Jefferson, there’s a suitcase in the trunk for you… Ms. Meyer took the liberty of preparing some fresh clothes.”
With that, he kept his eyes on the road.

Dorian glanced at the trunk and noticed a small suitcase. He opened it and saw an array of neatly folded shirts and pants.
“Did she stop by?” he asked coldly.
He couldn’t shake off his perplexity at Gisele’s attempts to please him, especially after he had explicitly requested that she apologize to Sierra.
Jon shook his head. “No. She had prepared it a long time ago.”
The anger in Dorian’s chest instantly dissipated.
He changed out of the dirty clothes and into a clean, freshly ironed shirt. The shirt even had a faint medicinal scent, which was oddly pleasant.
Feeling much better after changing, he asked casually, “Did she call?”
Last night, while Dorian had been at the hospital, he had received a text message from the Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
bank about his card.
He r
realized that Gisele had pretended to return all the cards to Jessie before leaving home, but she had still been secretly using his card.
So, he had frozen the card to teach her a lesson.
He wondered what right Gisele, who depended on him, had to meddle in his life.
“Yeah, I told her exactly what you said,” Jon replied.
Dorian frowned, displeased with her attitude.
Had Jon’s message not provoked any other reaction from Gisele? Or was she really that indifferent?
As the car was about to turn into the basement parking entrance of Jefferson Group Tower, Jon suddenly stopped the car.
He glanced toward the window and said, “Mr. Jefferson, Ms. Meyer is here.”
Dorian was still in thought. When he heard this, he chuckled. He figured that Gisele planned to meet him and use some trick to get him to unfreeze the card.
He had overestimated her. When he looked over, he frowned again. He wondered what she was up to this time.
