Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Johnson had looked up at Gisele, who had been dressed in white and standing against the light. Back then, he had thought that she was an angel.
He had hastily helped Gisele carry his grandfather to a shady spot. Then, he had dazedly watched Gisele perform first ald on his grandfather, despite her feeble figure.
Gisele had finally stopped when Johnson’s grandfather seemed to have recovered. By then, she had been so exhausted that her forehead had been covered in sweat.
It had been a hot afternoon, but she had acted as if she hadn’t felt the heat at all. She had never stopped for a breath while she had contacted the ambulance.
Then, she had accompanied Johnson to take his grandfather to the hospital. She had even paid 10 thousand dollars for him. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
To this day, he still hadn’t managed to pay her back.
Later on, he had seen the masked woman from back then in a TV show that was introducing the top ten outstanding youths in Hearthfield.
It was only then that he had learned that she was called Gigi Toby Fluff.
Johnson stopped reminiscing and scratched his head as he said shyly, “Sorry, Gigi; we haven’t paid you back for the hospital bills yet. What’s your account number? I can transfer the money to you right now.”
“It’s okay. It’s not that much money anyway.” Gisele waved her hand, smiling.
She only had a faint impression of the incident back then, and she didn’t remember the details. In the past few years, she had tried everything she could do to help those in need.
She had never once thought of getting something in return. Even though 10 thousand dollars was a huge sum to her as well, she thought that it wasn’t appropriate to get the money back.
Johnson’s youthful face immediately soured. He said in slight disappointment, “Do you think that I’m not earning enough money? I’m great at earning money. I’m the technical
expert on our team!”
“Alright. If I need help, I’ll ask you, okay?” Gisele couldn’t bring herself to turn him down.
Johnson thought for a moment. Then, he said with hesitation, “Alright, then. But promise me that you’ll think of me! I’m staying in the room next door.”

Gisele nodded.
Suddenly, a nurse’s high–pitched voice rang out at the door. “Johnson! Where have you run off to this time?
“Do you want to live or not? You’ve delayed your operation time again. Do you really not want to live anymore? You’re just an 18–year–old brat!”
When Johnson heard the nurse calling him, he hastily stood up. He walked outside awkwardly. “Gigi, 1-1’ll be going back now! I’ll visit you again after I’ve dealt with the nurse!
Before Gisele could say anything, she saw Johnson dashing out.
When the angry nurse in the corridor saw him, she spoke more sternly. “Stop running! Do you actually want to live or not?”
“Of course I do. If you don’t believe me, go and ask her!” Johnson pointed at Gisele, who was on the bed.
Gisele didn’t know what to say. She nodded and then said in a hoarse voice, “He’ll cooperate.
“That’s right! I follow everything she says.” Johnson nodded obediently. Then, he walked toward his own room.
The nurse sighed, looking heavy–hearted as she did so. After Johnson left, she said to Gisele, “Ms. Meyer, he’s a pitiful child. But if he listens to you, please help me convince him.
“His health condition doesn’t allow him to drag it out any longer. The doctor is doing this for his own good.”
“What illness does he have?” Gisele frowned curiously.
Johnson did look a little ill, but it was probably because he had stayed up too late at night. Did he have any other illnesses?
