Chapter 15 I can kick farther than you
"Blanche, why did you come to the hospital to see me? What could happen to me? You are newly married, so you should be spending more time with your husband to cultivate your relationship instead of worrying about me."
Seated by the hospital bed, Blanche playfully held her grandmother's hand and acted like a child.
"Grandma, I miss you, and I wish I could be with you every day. But with the family business being so big and Louis having to manage everything, he doesn't have much time to stay at home and be silly with me."
Only in front of her grandmother was she always a child.
Blanche only told her grandmother that she was going to marry the young master of the Herbart family, but didn't mention the rumor that Louis was disabled.
Angela withdrew her hand and tapped Blanche's forehead.
"You know, in the future, try to avoid coming to this hospital. The Herbart family is a wealthy family, and if they find out that you have someone like me dragging you down, they might form a negative opinion of you. To be honest with Grandma, have the Herbart family treated you unfairly? I can see that you've lost weight."
Blanche pinched her own face and looked incredulous.
"Lost weight? Where? I eat the best food every day, four meals a day. I'm tired of it. Grandma, you're mistaken. My face under the mask is actually much fatter."
Blanche cursed Louis in her heart. That scumbag had left her starving and devastated just a couple of days prior.
Angela couldn't help but worry. This child really thought she was old. Blanche was clearly thinner.
It seemed that her life in the Herbart family wasn't easy. Blanche would have been much better if she didn't have this scar on her face. Such a sweet child, now marred by such a disfigurement - it was inevitable that the prestigious family would take notice. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
At the door, Louis was puzzled. The elderly woman living inside was Blanche's grandmother.
It was strange - this woman had always seemed so malicious before, but now, in front of her grandmother, she was suddenly so well-behaved and gracious.
"What are you looking at, Grandma?" Blanche turned her head, and the door was empty.
...
In the hallway, Louis met Kelley, who had just returned from a business trip. Kelley warmly greeted Louis.
"Mr. Herbart, are you feeling unwell, or is there a family member who requires medical attention? Please tell me - I am eager to provide my expertise."
Louis smiled faintly. "What illness does the old lady in room 327 have?"
Kelley was taken aback and rubbed his eyes in surprise. "Does Mr. Herbart know the elderly woman in room 327? Mr. Herbart, please accompany me to my office so we can discuss this further."
After leaving the office, Louis left the hospital and saw Blanche by the lake. Blanche leaned against the railing, looking up at a willow tree.
Louis sneered. He seemed to be cursed. He could run into this woman wherever he went.
Eric stopped the car, got out, and ran over.
"Blanche, why did you arrange to meet outside the hospital? Are you sick?"
Blanche ignored Eric's concern and pulled out the design draft of the Magnolia brooch from her bag.
"It's not me who's sick, and it's my Grandmother. Take a look at this design."
Eric took the design draft. The Magnolia brooch on it was vivid and unique. Eric was impressed and looked at Blanche with new eyes.
"Blanche, you designed this so well. Let's make it like this. Grandma will definitely love it."
Blanche nodded. "Okay, when it's done, I'll give it to you."
"You look listless. Is it because of Louis?" Eric noticed Blanche's blue eyes and gossiped.
Last night, his Grandma had an accident and his cousin stayed at the hospital all night. And Blanche seemed listless. Did his cousin not go home last night and make her angry?
Blanche was speechless and put the draft back into her bag, zipping it up.
"What could he do to make me angry? I'm just busy doing your drafts. I've been working so hard that I have dark circles under my eyes."
He scrutinized Blanche's facial expression closely, and thought to himself, "Wow, this is really strange."
This was the first time he had seen a woman who didn't like his cousin. From childhood to adulthood, every girl who met his cousin was like a butterfly, always wanting to be close to him.
Seeing that Eric seemed to be skeptical of her words, Blanche covered her forehead and kicked a pebble on the ground.
"Do you know what? In my eyes, he's like this stone. He's smelly and hard. I will never care about him."
As she spoke, Blanche suddenly lifted her foot and kicked the stone. The stone flew in a beautiful parabolic arc and fell into the lake.
Eric was amazed.
However, after a moment, he became excited. "Blanche, you did the right thing. Louis is a scumbag. I've been disgusted with him for a long time."
"Blanche, these are also my cousins. Look, I can kick the stones farther than you." He pointed to a pile of rocks.
"What? Look, I can kick farther than you." Another stone flew into the lake, and Blanche clapped her hands, excited.
"Let me try."
"Hahaha, I can kick farther than you..."
On the shore, they kicked stones back and forth, causing a lively scene.
The man stood nearby, his body tense and his face dark with anger.
"Boss, are you okay?"
Sam looked at Louis secretly, wanting to laugh but not daring to. He felt a knot forming in his stomach. Blanche was really something. She compared the president to a stone, saying that the
stone was smelly and hard, and she stepped and kicked it.
"Don't play anymore. Let's stop. We're tired." After kicking more than ten times, Blanche clapped her hands.
