Chapter 53
Mr. Hughes was taken aback by surprise when he heard Rose confirm it. However, he was more taken aback by the strange aura that surrounded her, she was acting way more than her age.
"Mr. Hughes, since Miss Rose had already confirmed it, please take her to where she would be taking the exam." Headmistress Moore decided to speak up seeing that the atmosphere was about to get more intense than she planned. She turned to look at Rose. "Mr. Hughes would be the one to be in charge of your exam, Miss Rose."
"I-I understand Headmistress Moore. Miss Rose, please follow me." Mr. Hughes said nothing else and gestured to Rose to follow him. Just as Rose stood up from her seat, the boy who had been quiet since Mr. Hughes entered the office, also stood up.
"Mr. Anderson, I don't think there is a need to follow them. I'm sure Mr. Hughes would take care of Miss Rose." Headmistress Moore said when she saw him stand up as well.
"I would like to follow her. Like I said I brought her here so she is technically my responsibility." The boy coldly replied.
Rose frowned upon hearing him again. 'What a lame excuse.' she thought before glancing at him. "You don't have to follow me. You've brought me here already, so I can manage on my own. Don't let me disturb you-"
room.
"I didn't say you were disturbing. And I told you earlier, when someone is doing a favor for you, you have to say thank you." The boy interrupted Rose who just narrowed her eyes at him. She said nothing and looked away from him before following Mr. Hughes out of the
Headmistress Moore couldn't help but frown as she watched Rose walk out of the room. 'Is Beatrice aware that her step daughter seemed really close with Mr. Anderson?' She thought, seeing how the boy was treating Rose like they knew each other.
Mr. Hughes led both Rose and the boy to a big classroom. He opened the door and beckoned Rose to enter. "This is the place you'd be taking your exam, Miss Rose." Mr. Hughes said.
Rose quickly scanned the entire empty classroom. It was only filled with tables and chairs and nothing more. Since she was the only one taking these exams, she didn't expect to see another student.
"I understand." Rose said, nodding her head at Mr. Hughes.
"Please wait here, I will go and get the exam paper for you." Mr. Hughes stared at Rose's calm face before walking out of the classroom leaving only Rose and the boy alone.
"Are you really sure you can handle this exam?" The boy suddenly asked Rose after Mr. Hughes left the room.
"I am. Why? Are you asking because you didn't do the exam before you enrolled into this school?" Rose calmly replied and asked him.
"I did and I passed. According to what I heard you just arrived back in the country a week ago, are you prepared for it?" He answered Rose, not feeling offended by her question.
"I'm confident in myself. But I don't
understand why you seem to care

so much, we just met a few minutes ago? Is there something to it?" Rose glanced at him before turning around and walking away. She sat down on one of the empty seats waiting for Mr. Hughes to come back with the exam paper.
"You're right, we just met today but I found you very interesting and it seems like we've met before. You look familiar but I can't tell where I've seen you." The boy replied, his expression turned serious.
Before Rose could reply, Mr. Hughes walked into the classroom with the exam paper in his hand. "You have one hour to finish this fifty question. Mr. Anderson and I would be waiting here for you." He said as he placed the paper question in front of Rose with a pen. "Thank you." Rose nodded her head and she grabbed the paper.
"Your time starts now." Mr. Hughes as he pressed the timer.
Both the boy and Mr. Hughes expected Rose to immediately grab her pen and start working on the question that was given to her. However, to their surprise, Rose just stared blankly at the paperwork without reacting.
'Gosh, I knew it. This is just a waste of time. What does a girl born with a gold spoon know? She was just bluffing earlier about taking the exam. Look how she's staring at the paper, I bet she has never seen such questions before in her life.' Mr. Hughes thought as he glanced at Rose.
Contrary to what Mr. Hughes was thinking, the boy was just quietly staring at Rose wondering what she was doing. 'What is she up to? Don't tell me she is observing the question first before working?' He thought and his lip's stretched into a smile Normally, everyone's first reaction when they are given the question paper is to pick up their pen and start working on the question. However, only a few people with high IQ would take their time to examine the questions first before working on it. That's because most of the questions aren't questions that need to be solved
mathematically, but mentally.
'I'm starting to like this girl.' He thought, his lips stretching into a smile.
On the other hand, Rose was just busy reading all the questions calmly. As expected, the questions were not questions that were taught in normal school class. 'It seems like the person who came up with these questions isn't only just trying to look for smart kids but looking for answers to solve his or her problem.' Rose thought. The moment she picked up the question paper and scanned through the question, she knew that there was a hidden meaning to this question. However, she didn't plan to find out, she raised her head up and glanced at the clock. She saw that she had only
twenty minutes to answer the
questions before one hour.
'It's time.' Rose finally picked up her pen and started answering the question.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
expression on his face.
'This brat obviously has no idea what she is doing. She finally decided to start answering the question when there remained twenty minutes to the deadline. These rich kids don't even understand anything.' Mr. Hughes thought as he stared at Rose with a distasteful
