Chapter 18: I Don’t Know Who They Are
“Ah, there’s more.” Cara almost forgot an important detail, just hastily added, making everyone look at her nervously to listen: “Don’t forget to pay the hospital bills. I don’t have money, so I rely on everyone. People.”
Finally, Cara lowered her head, the movement was so fast that her forehead hit the table. The loud pop startled Alden, while the two women cried out in alarm.
“Cara.” Keva followed the doctor’s response, proceeding to check on the patient’s condition.
“Oh my god.” Alden’s mother kindly asked, “Does it hurt?”
Cara slowly raised her face to look up, her mind was so dizzy that she saw everything dimly at first. Alden’s mother was saddened to see her high, broad, red forehead. Just now, needless to say, everyone knows how painful her forehead feels.
Before the concerned gazes of the two women. She was moved to cry. Cara remembered the question and shook her head and said no, but her brows furrowed.
“I’m fine, just a little headache.”
Cara smiled innocently, her smile really brightening, making the other person feel cool, just like the rain on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, Alden wasn’t seen, no wonder he was agitated. Gavin was lucky because his mind reminded him that he had a fiancée, so he wasn’t fascinated by Cara.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Cara gradually returned to normal.
“So you guys agree with me on that, don’t you? That hospital bill.” Cara asked again just to be sure. Expectant eyes looked at each member of Helen’s family in turn.
“Don’t worry, that’s what we have to fulfill in accordance with our obligations and responsibilities.” His mother answered on behalf of the family, curious to know: “Do you have any more requests?”
Without thinking, Cara with a satisfied expression spoke firmly and neatly.
“That’s all.”
“We’ll accommodate any request you have.” Alden’s mother persuades. It’s actually a deliberate probe into Cara’s personality. Is she being honest or acting for others to see?
“Thank you for your good intentions.” Cara firmly said: “But I don’t need anything. After I leave the hospital, I can take care of my own life.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
People say she’s stupid, it’s okay to pretend to be deer, as long as she’s not like that, it’s fine.
There is no lie in words. There is no trickery in the attitude. Those clear eyes were never caught in the dust of intrigue and cunning. A woman’s intuition, a mother, and above all a judge, have a positive opinion of Cara’s case. Mrs. Agatha was conquered by Cara’s noble and pure heart. Not only did she, but Mr. Ethan did not find any suspicious details in Cara. She was like a page, written with beautiful, neat lines, not with squiggly, disproportionate, or worse, ugly lines.
Gavin also has his own assessments and thoughts. Generally relatively good, he will observe more to be sure with his objective judgment. As for Alden, once again, he must say, he is unlucky not to see all of Cara’s honesty. So his heart is still stubbornly stubborn. He thought that just a few words of mouth could not convince him. Not to mention it came from a complete stranger.
There was a pause in the middle of the conversation. While Helen’s family, everyone was busy with the thinking world. Cara is still focused on eating and drinking. Keva stood to the side only smiling faintly at her optimism, carefree. The girl also respects Cara a lot. The reason is that no one has ever met Helen who was as calm as Cara. What’s more, having the good fortune to meet the whole family of four. Keva wondered how brave Cara was, to face Helen with a fearless mentality?
Silence until someone breaks it.
“Miss Cara,” Gavin called out for attention, and the action immediately caught her eye.
“Yes. What do you have to say?”
She stopped eating and stared at him. In fact, Cara had been waiting for Alden’s family to speak. See if they want anything from you. If she can do it, she will be ready to respond. As far as Cara understands, the matter may be handled by the law. Maybe his family will ask her not to sue.
Cara was prepared to receive it as well as have the answer in mind. Come on, you’re listening. Let’s settle it and then everyone goes their separate ways.
Gavin took a few seconds to nod and continued:
“Cara, do you know who we are?”
A very odd question in this situation, but honestly Gavin couldn’t resist the urge to ask Cara about it. He suspects that Cara doesn’t know or that she’s acting.
“The family of the person who caused the accident.”
Cara did not think about it but answered immediately. The question was not expected, surprising her, perplexed to hear. Her eyes didn’t even waver, proving that she wasn’t lying. Two round, bright pearls stared at Gavin without taking their eyes off them.
Everyone was quite skeptical, but Cara’s expression once again dispels the bad thought. They were surprised at her honesty. That’s why his family didn’t know what to say next. Why do some people not know about Helen, when the whole country knows. It’s hard to believe. They forgot that Cara was not at home, and she did not have a lot of time for updates. Especially information about things that don’t help your life.
“Doesn’t the name Helen remind you of anything?” Keva woke up first, on behalf of everyone, curiously asked: “Remember, Cara. Chances are you’ve heard or seen them on TV, in magazines.”
Keva was very enthusiastic about making suggestions. Cara stopped eating, thinking about the name. She searched through her memory, having a vague memory of hearing it but not being clear.
“Helen. OH.” She repeated the name in vain: “Sorry, I don’t think I’m impressed with that noble-sounding name.”
“Are you sure?” Keva exclaimed in surprise.
“It’s correct. I don’t have time, much less interested in things that don’t help my life. And why should I know who Helen is? Apart from the fact that one of them has brought my current life to a standstill.” Cara looked at them worriedly and almost exclaimed, “Are you, gangsters? Mafia family?”
Gavin laughed at Cara’s super cute conclusion. And then he caught himself maintaining his stern image. Alden rolled his eyes and continued in doubt. Ethan couldn’t help but laugh too. This is not the first time people have been confused about Helen’s family. The reason is very simple, basically, Helen’s men all have the same appearance and temperament as those in the Gypsy world. They are majestic and cold.
It is true that looking at the face and taking pictures is completely wrong. Because of that, Helen’s family, in order to avoid coming to wrong judgments, often learns very carefully about other people before they dare to come to general conclusions. Avoid thinking bad, and slandering others. Emma’s incident can be said to be due to Alden being manipulated by her, instigating against the family. They were afraid of stressing when they did not understand clearly, Alden was the one who suffered the most, so they patiently pretended, then silently looked for opportunities to turn the game over.
Hey! Cara’s fatal confusion is not a serious problem, on the contrary, it is very cute.
