Chapter 27
After that day, there was a subtle change in the relationship between them.
The past seemed to have been erased from the bottom of Alicia's heart in a night's time. She could not make it clear whether it was because of her broken heart at the bar, or because of the intrusion of another man in her life that night. However, her life was no longer as dull as it used to be.
One day, Alicia went out to deal with a business. Seeing that it was already past four o'clock in the afternoon, she did not go back to the company. After strolling along the commercial street, she stopped in front of an elegant- looking premium male clothing store.
Vargas? He liked wearing shirts from this brand the most in the past!
Alicia slightly pulled the corner of her lips with a bitter expression and then turned her body sideways abruptly. She saw a pair of dancing butterflies all of a sudden across the street.
"The Love of Butterflies?"
The blue and red signs of dancing butterflies were very eye-catching in front of the huge red signboard which was placed against smooth white porcelain. With a dazed look, Alicia touched her shoulder blade unconsciously.
Getting tattoos was a trend back then. On the weekend after they got together, they went to a small shop in a corner inadvertently. They got matching butterfly tattoos in that place. His was on his chest, while hers was on her shoulder blade!
He said that she was the butterfly. He wanted to keep her close to his heart forever and be with her through life and death. As for her, he did not like her to be coveted by others because she was a woman. Hence, he allowed her to tattoo it on her shoulder blade instead. He also said that when he
held her, the two butterflies would stay close to each other, forming a pair, which symbolized their love. They were just like inseparable lovers. She would go wherever he goes.
When she noticed such a sign all of a sudden, she recalled many of the memories from the past.
The deeper the love, the deeper the hurt. Her heart ached again. She didn't know whether the butterfly on his chest was still there, but her butterfly had been covered up completely by a black poppy.
Because, in the past, she had thought of — forgetting!
The flower was extremely beautiful, but there was a killing intention hidden behind it. It symbolized oblivion and first love, representing a hurtful kind of love. She felt that it was a true portrayal of them.
Seeing that there was a lingerie store with a discount sign at the door, Alicia walked over.
She didn't know the exact reason why but she picked a red lacy nightdress. Perhaps it was because it seemed to be a common style.
"Miss, here are your clothes. Please come again next time!"
"Thank you!"
As soon as she walked out of the store, a white figure rushed over out of nowhere.
Lindsay Crouch?
Alicia raised her eyes and furrowed her eyebrows as if they were squeezing water out, thinking, "What bad luck I have! Why is she like a fly lingering around me!"
Then, she turned around and headed the other direction. Before she could leave, someone blocked her way. "Alicia Blanchard!"
"I don't have time to waste on you! Please stay away from me in the future!" Alicia scolded.
Her good mood was ruined, and she was a little annoyed. She spun around again, and a voice behind her spoke urgently.
"I'm pregnant!"
With a bombshell dropped on her, Alicia was obviously shocked for two seconds. The next second, Lindsay had already stood before her.
"I'm bearing Jeremy's baby, and we are also getting married! Alicia, I beg you to stop pestering him, okay?"
It was rare for Lindsay to speak in such a good tone. As she talked, she touched the huge diamond ring on her finger deliberately. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Lindsay said, "I know you are the kindest. You won't break up us, will you? Alicia, you will promise me and give us your blessings, right? I really want your blessings!"
