Chapter Twenty-seven
She looked up at him with those beautiful eyes.
“I want you to help me,” she spoke, still fiddling with her fingers.
For a moment he was hypnotized by her brown eyes until her small voice called him back.
“Your majesty,”
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts and averted his gaze from her, looking at the walk opposite which looked beautiful for some unknown reasons.
He cleared his throat before speaking.
“How do you intend for me to help you?” he asked, his eyes still not leaving the wall.
“I want us to behave– like the way we did at blue moon pack,” she could not bring herself to say those words. She felt this was the one suit for her.
Kai almost chuckled at her shy ministrations but he had to maintain his ‘poise’ and stoic face.
He cleared his throat again.
“I do not quite understand what you mean by that, young lady. If you need my help, you have to make your intentions clear, I do not understand the parables you speak,” he said with a tone of indifference.
Cassy scoffed and wanted to stand up and leave but Joanna stopped her by her shoulder.
“My lady, you have to be patient. Listen to him, no one else would give you what you want,”
Cassy exhaled and sat properly before turning to him with a faux smile on her face.
Kai smirked and raised his eyebrow questioningly.
Oh, goddess, this man was getting on her nerves! She wanted to scream but she had to hold herself. She would not be able to save her face from shame if he does not.
She inhaled drawing air into her lungs before exhaling.
“I want us to act as a couple until my sister leaves,” she rushed her words in such a way that someone far away may not be able to understand her words.
Why was she flushed? What was the use of reacting like this?
It meant nothing.
Kai nodded. “I understand now. And do you have any plans on how we are going to do that?”
Was he going to agree? Cassy had her beautiful genuine smile on now.
“My sister and I are not that close but as you may have seen the other day, stepmother and I do not have a good relationship. Of course, if she finds out about this…” she glanced at Kai who shrugged and she sighed before continuing.
“She would definitely be the happiest,”
Cassy turned to Joanna and Joanna immediately understood. Cassy was short of words, she felt she had spoken too much.
“My lady would have to move into your bed chamber, your majesty,” Joanna spoke and bent her knees slightly.
“What!?” Kai exclaimed, causing everyone except Cassy to flinch.
He expected that but he did not see that reaction coming from him.
Cassy was calm and collected. Somehow she had expected this reaction from him.
“Do not fret, your majesty for I would not move in totally but I would have to bring in some of my properties to prove that we are now living together,” she explained and took a sip from the tea Joanna had poured for her.
“When would she be arriving?” Kai asked, his eyes not leaving her face.
“I do not know yet, your highness. I came here to confirm with you, first,” Cassy was still elated by his words. She thought of it as a confirmation that he was going to agree.
Kai nodded with a smirk plastered on his face.
“I am glad you did that. But what gave you the confidence that I was going to agree?” he asked, still smirking.
The smile on Cassy and Joanna’s faces drained immediately.
“Wha– what? I… I thought you agreed?” she asked confusingly.
“When did I ever say so?”
“You–” she paused to take a breath. “So, what are you saying?”
He exhaled. He already had enough from taunting her. Why was he doing it before?
“Confirm the date and let me know,” he said and picked up a file.
Cassy rose up, trying her best not to get too elated. Making this headstrong alpha cooperate with her was a hard task but he easily made her do whatever he wanted.
“You have to give me your word, Kai,” his eyes widened as she pronounced his name. Why was she so different today?
“I helped you back at Blue moon pack. You have to help me too,” she said with a tone of finality and walked to the door, Joanna following behind her.
She stopped and turned to Kai.
“And we should learn how to address each other by our first names. We have to learn to drop the formalities, Kai,” shooting him a megawatt smile, she walked out of the study leaving a dumbfounded Kai.
What just happened? Kai was still trying to recover from the shock.
He still could not believe that the person who had just left his study was Cassy.
He did not know what changed but she seemed to be different that morning.
He was still in a daze when someone barged into his study, causing him to snap out of it.
He knew who the intruder was.
He heard her clear her throat, causing him to realize that he had been staring blankly at the file in his hand
“I thought we agreed not to meet until it was evening and at our usual spot,” Kai spoke, his eyes never leaving the file in his hand.
The woman tutted. “And what is that supposed to mean? I was only passing by when I saw that woman enter. She seemed to have spent a lot of time here. Or–” she paused, it was as if she wanted to weigh her words.
“Did you plan it?”
“Plan what?” he questioned, finally looking up with a hint of annoyance on his features.
His forehead was creased and his eyebrows were arched.
“You just wanted to have time with her. You do not have to pretend like you don’t–”
“Watch what you say, Isabella!” he half yelled, frightening the lady who stood up straight.
It was her turn to frown now.
“Why are you so annoyed? If only you do not care for that stupid mate of yours, I could have been crowned Luna,” she hissed.
She went to sit opposite him and Kai glared at her. She seemed to be in a good mood but he knew she was going to switch soon.
“What? Are you not going to tell me what she was doing here?”
Kai exhaled.
“Her step sister is coming to the palace to live for a while, so she requested for help,” he glanced at Isabella who had a blank look on her face. He needed to get prepared for her outburst.
Isabella was a jealous freak and had issues controlling her anger.
“I have to act with her for as long as her step sister is living here,” he dropped the bombshell.
Isabella’s face contorted into a frown.
“What do you mean by that? So she came here to let you know that she was going to move in?”
Kai nodded nonchalantly. It was not a big deal to him. It was just for the show and nothing more.
“Calm down, Isa. There is nothing between us and there would never be. I only have to help her,” he gestured for her to come, which she reluctantly did. He held her by her wrist and drew her closer, making her stand in between his legs.
“She helped me at the blue moon pack, so I need to repay back the favor. Nothing is ever going to happen, I promise,” he promised but she refused to reply to him.
“Come on, Isa. Do not do this to me,” he made her sit on his lap and kissed her nose, eliciting small giggles from her.
“Fine,” she reluctantly agreed. “But I do not want to hear any rumors. I do not want the servants mocking me. It would taint my image.”
Kai exhaled and nodded his head. “alright,”
He placed his lips on hers and their lips moved against each other’s. He drew her lips into his mouth and sucked softly on it, causing her to sigh.
He stood up with her in his arms and placed her on the desk. Still kissing her with his right hand now fondling her breasts through her dress, he used his left hand to clear the files to one side and made her sit properly.
“Gosh, I missed you so much,” she whispered, looking up at him as she unbuttoned his flannel shirt.
He pulled it off and began to feather kisses from her shoulder to her neck, nibbling on the skin where her neck and shoulder met, causing her to throw her head backwards.
He pulled up her dress and underwear. She helped him in discarding his trousers and he wasted no time in plunging his manhood into her which made her release a loud moan.
And as he pounded in and out of her, he could not shake off the feeling he felt.
What was this feeling? And why was he thinking while having sex?
“Oh, moon goddess! You have no idea how much of a hero you looked like just now!” Joanna beamed as they walked back to her bed chamber.
Cassy chuckled. “Really? I was beginning to think I did not pull it well or I was overdoing it,” she told the other woman truthfully and the both of them burst into a fit of laughter.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
“No, Cassy, you did not overdo it. I have never seen you act so cool. I think this personality fits you better,” Joanna said in between fits of laughter.
“What is the next step now, Cassy? I fear that he may not agree to our request,” Joanna asked worriedly as soon as they entered her bed chamber.
Cassy chortled.
“Why are you worried? I thought you just said I acted so cool. I am sure it must have affected him too,” Cassy joked.
“But truthfully, that was really not easy. I still can’t believe I pulled it out.”
Joanna had told her to show him another side of her which she did and she was a tiny bit sure that it had an effect on him.
And if he does not agree, she had to fall back to the initial plan which was to lie about issues in the palace or she had fallen sick.
Cassy exhaled.
“He asked us to confirm the date. Get me paper and ink,” she ordered Joanna who immediately went to work.
“I am going to write to the beta’s manor.”
Joanna watched Cassy as her fingers moved the brush which had been dipped in ink on the paper.
“Father,
I hope this letter meets you well. I received your letter and I was elated to see it. How is your health?
Father, in your letter you stated that Audrey was going to come to the palace to keep me company. I have informed the alpha and he has agreed, so I want to know when she would be coming as I would want to make proper arrangements for her.
Your daughter,
Cassy.”
After going through the letter several times, Cassy handed the letter to Joanna who in turn, checked it severally again.
“I would send it out now,” she informed Cassy.
“I want it sent now,” she ordered and Joanna bowed.
“I would do as you say,”
“What am I going to do there?”
“Are you still asking me after all the lectures I have been giving for many hours!?”
Tabitha has been trying to lecture her daughter but her daughter seemed adamant.
She raised her hand to hit her but a wave of headache hit her, causing her to take a step back and all the maids rushed to her side.
“I told you not to get too angry,” Lia scolded.
While the chaos was going on, Alec walked in with a paper in his hand.
“The letter from the palace has arrived!” he announced with a smile on his face.
Audrey stood up quickly and Tabitha stood properly and went to snatch the paper from his grasp.
Audrey looked at her mother in anticipation.
Wait… what was she anticipating?
A smile slowly appeared on Tabitha’s face as she finished reading the letter.
She plastered the paper against Alec’s chest and ran to her daughter.
“It is time,” she said in a low voice, holding her cheeks.
Then, she turned to face everyone in the room.
“Get ready, my daughter is leaving for the palace on Saturday!”
