Chapter 295 Duped
Following the address, Finnegan arrived at the hotel in Colstrax, and he also informed Doom Star and
Duncan to meet him there.
Dressed in casual clothes, Romona had been waiting here, originally intending to scold Finnegan a bit.
His call the day before, asking her to find someone, had felt almost like a command.
However, when she saw that Finnegan had brought Doom Star and Duncan along, she immediately
sensed something was amiss. “Finnegan, who exactly did you ask me to find?”
Since Doom Star and Duncan were there, it was clear that a battle was on the horizon.
Finnegan looked toward the three-story hotel. “The sniper that almost took me out.”
Upon hearing this, Romona widened her eyes in surprise. “What? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I only
brought two people with me!”
Saying this, she quickly pulled out her phone. “No, I need to get more people over here.”
Finnegan stopped her. “That guy is an expert in firearms and is formidable in close combat. Having
more people will not only alert him but also increase casualties. I can handle this with Doom Star and
Duncan! But I’ll need you to help me clear out the other people in the hotel first.”
That guy was cautious and unscrupulous, which could be troublesome if he decided to take hostages
at a critical moment.
Romona frowned. “Are you sure the three of you can handle it? Do you need me to call for Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
reinforcements?”
“I’m sure!”
“All right. But don’t blame me if the person runs away again.” Romona made a call to two colleagues
who were tailing the sniper, instructing them to liaise with the hotel owner and discreetly evacuate the
guests from the hotel.
In the following ten minutes or so, people started to trickle out of the hotel in small groups.
Romona’s two colleagues also left, casually draping their arms over the hotel owner’s shoulders as if
they were friends.
Seeing this, Romona knew that there was no one left in the hotel, and she began to walk toward it.
“Let’s go. The hotel is empty!”
Finnegan was taken aback for a moment, then stepped forward to hold her back. “You don’t have to go.
The three of us will do.”
Romona snorted. “When it’s crunch time, I’ll be there with a gun to back you up. Plus, if you guys stir
up trouble, it’s easier for me to handle the aftermath if I’m present.”
With that, she shook off Finnegan’s hand and walked away, not giving Finnegan a chance to stop her.
Left with no other choice, Finnegan could only give up and follow along, bringing Doom Star and
Duncan

with him.
Upon entering the hotel, Romona lowered her voice and said, “That person is in room 322 on the third
floor, facing the alley at the back. Be careful when you make your move later so he doesn’t escape
through the window!”
With a nod, Finnegan signaled to Doom Star and Duncan to follow. The four of them quietly made their
way to the third floor, heading straight for room 322.
Hearing a noise inside, Finnegan made a gesture.
With a tacit understanding, Duncan treaded lightly toward the door.
In the next moment, he fiercely kicked the door.
With a loud bang, the door was kicked open. Finnegan and Doom Star rushed in immediately, with
Romona, gun in hand, following close behind.
As a result, everyone was left dumbfounded.
Romona’s mouth gaped open, giving off an eerie vibe. Where’s the person?”
The room was completely empty.
The noise heard moments earlier was due to the shower in the bathroom being slightly turned on.
Finnegan’s gaze slightly hardened as he looked toward the open window, then turned his attention to
the neatly made bed. Could it be?
Upon thinking of something, Finnegan’s face drastically changed. He turned around and pushed
Romona, saying, “Quick! Go!”
No sooner had the words been shouted out than a thunderous boom and a burst of flames shot up into
the sky, instantly shattering the neatly arranged beds into pieces.
A powerful blast wave formed, creating a shockwave of astonishing strength. It caused a wall to
collapse and the ceiling to crack.
Doom Star and Duncan reacted swiftly. By the time Finnegan turned to warn them, they had already
retreated, but they were still knocked over by the shockwave, coughing up blood.
However, Romona was about to face some bad luck.
Even though Finnegan had pushed her away, a sharp piece of wood had still pierced her left chest.
Numerous shards from the explosion had also embedded themselves in various parts of her body.
As for Finnegan, his delay was caused by pushing Romona, making him the most directly affected by
the explosion. The blast flipped him over completely.
He was still pinned under the collapsed wall and the chunks of cement that had fallen from the ceiling.
The aftermath of the explosion lingered for a few seconds, leaving the scene in utter chaos.
Ignoring their injuries, Doom Star and Duncan quickly got up and rushed into the smoke-filled room.
“Mr. Finnegan! Ms. Quickwood!”
The four guards from the Quickwood family, who were secretly protecting Romona, quickly arrived.
“Ms. Quickwood!”
Romona’s face was as pale as a sheet, blood frothing from her mouth. It was clear that her internal
organs had been severely injured.
But she stubbornly lifted her hand, pointing at Finnegan. “L-Leave…”
But as she opened her mouth, more blood poured out, preventing her from finishing a single sentence.
The four guards from the Quickwood family understood her intentions and quickly went ahead to help
Doom Star and Duncan clear the stone blocks.
Before they could clear away much of the debris, Finnegan, who was trapped underneath, suddenly
erupted with an astonishing momentum. A powerful surge of energy rolled out, shaking off the chunks
of cement that were pressing down on him.
Doom Star, Duncan, and the guards were forced to retreat a few steps when they sensed the aura.
They then looked at him in surprise. How could he be okay?
Looking disheveled yet seemingly unaffected, Finnegan’s face was fierce. With an ominous aura
swirling around him, he walked over and picked up Romona. “Let’s get out of here first!”
That was a scheme plotted by Cameron.
Deliberately revealing his whereabouts to let the police department lock on, then setting up a bomb to
detonate when Finnegan arrived, catching him completely off guard.
So, to avoid any hidden bombs, they had to leave that place immediately.
Romona was seriously injured, and they didn’t have time to look for Cameron.
The guards from the Quickwood family quickly stepped forward to protect them while simultaneously
making a phone call to arrange for people to handle the aftermath.
As they began to retreat, Cameron, still wearing a clown mask, was observing them through a
telescope from the eighth floor of a hotel hundreds of meters away. “They didn’t die from that? Getting
that billion won’t be so easy!”
Setting down the telescope, he gently coughed twice.
The injuries inflicted by Finnegan the day before were still quite severe. “The commotion this time was
a bit too much. It seems I’ll have to lay low for a few days. How did he manage to get the police
department to target me? Could it be that I was caught on surveillance without realizing it?” Cameron
muttered to himself.
After giving it some thought, Cameron couldn’t figure it out either, so he simply shook his head to clear
away his confusion.
After tidying up, he left the hotel and once again disappeared into the sea of people.
Five minutes later, news of the hotel explosion reached the Wright family.
Nathan’s face turned pale when he heard about it. “Is it that sniper again? How badly are Finnegan and
the others injured?”
Stephen’s face also looked grim. “It’s that sniper. He deliberately let the Criminal Bureau track him,
then set up a bomb, waiting for Finnegan to walk into the trap. As for the injuries, Finnegan and the
other two are okay, but the one in serious condition is Romona. The person protecting her said her life
is in danger!”
Nathan was taken aback. “Is her life in danger?”
“Grandpa, don’t worry,” Finnegan assured. “I promise nothing will happen to Romona.”
However, Nathan was still incredibly worried because Romona was his granddaughter.
But he also knew that worrying was pointless.
With a smack on the stone table, he commanded, “Go, tell your Uncle Adam that no matter what
method he uses, to locate that sniper as soon as possible. This guy dares to use bombs in the city
area. No one knows what he’ll do next! After that, get me a car. I want to go see Romona!”
