Chapter 1258
Chapter 1258
Feeling offended, Esther frowned in disgust. 'Please behave yourself. Even if this is your house, I have to protect myself. I can't say for sure what I'll do if you don't.'
"I didn't think you'd be so different. No wonder my brother loves you so much." Luther found this amusing but stepped back to give her some space. 'Alright, I'll stop joking. You're just too cute."
Esther was close to losing her temper. 'What? Can't you be serious?"
Luther couldn't help but laugh loudly. "I just gave you some big news. How could you forget about my kindness?"
"Thanks for that. But that's a different matter," Esther said.
"It was just a joke."
"Well, it's not funny."Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"Fine, I won't mention it again if you don't find it funny. 'Luther wanted to pat her on the head as she looked so annoyed, but she pushed his hand away.
"Alright, I'll leave since you've told me everything."
Then, Esther remembered she had left with Finnegan earlier and hadn't told him before leaving. In a panic, she checked her phone and saw the battery was dead.
Luther saw her phone and said, "Just charge it here. Then you can go home."
Esther became anxious. "Finnegan might be worrying if I don't go back now."
"What else can you do? Do you remember his contact number?"
Esther replied, "No, I don't."
"Then, even if you go back now, you might not find him. Stay and charge your phone. Once it's on, you can call him."
Feeling she had no choice, Esther agreed.
"Don't worry. You're not a kid, and you won't go missing either."
Esther gave an awkward smile. Ironically, she had disappeared once before, which is how she met Finnegan.
"Just calm down and charge your phone."
After charging her phone and turning it on, Esther saw a flood of messages and ninety-nine missed calls from Finnegan.
Right then, Finnegan called.
"Where are you, Esther?" He sounded really worried and a bit upset.
"I just "Esther started.
"So you left with a man while I was distracted?" Finnegan asked.
"No, that's not what happened... Esther tried to explain.
Finnegan took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Just tell me where you are. I'll go there right away."
Esther panicked and wanted to tell him but realized she didn't know the address.
"What's the matter? Why aren't you saying anything?" Finnegan asked.
Esther looked around, feeling helpless. 'I don't know where this is."
